Heaven Shattering Spark
There's a few variant trailers with different endings. Gandalf, Bilbo and Gollum are the best of them

[up] As if there was any doubt at all.

Martin Freeman is amazing, I hope this role makes him even more famous.

Darling.
That was a fun trailer.

The "At your service" bit feels just right.

Alternate endings for the trailer:

"I wasn't talking to you!"

Is it pronounced "Smog" like the pestilence that plagues Los Angeles or "Smowg" as in ow?

[up]If we follow Tolkien's rules for pronunciation, I would say that Sm-ow-g seems more likely given the other -au- words like Sauron.

It's definitely Sm-ow-g,if it really was Smaug, there'd also be Gimili's cousin Bay-lin,Arumon and a creepy guy named Grime-a Wormtongue

What's that? Those characters don't exist? Hmm that must mean there is no dragon named Smog.

[up] But his name is Smaug. I think you meant to say "Smog" there.

The Hobbit wasn't originally a part of Tolkien's linguistic universe. Could have gone either way, but now it's Smowg for sure.

I can think of few things that would do a better job at tearing me out of the story than seeing Stephen Colbert pop up for a cameo...

[up] I'm sorry, I can't begrudge the guy. He's a total Tolkien fanboy and given the chance, anyone who's that big a fan would do it, television personality or not.

I know I sure as heck would jump for joy at the opportunity.

Plus, haven't you heard of the Colbert Bump? If anything the movie'll do even better because of it...

Some Howard Shore music for Radagast the Brown. Starts off choir-y, then gets very string-heavy.

For anyone interested in seeing the 48fps version, here's a list of every theater in the US and Canada showing it: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/11/08/every-cinema-in-the-usa-or-canada-where-you-can-see-the-hobbit-at-48fps-hfr/

Nope, it's smowg. In one of the appendices, there's a pronunciation guide. 'Au' is pronouced 'ow'.

It's supposed to make the film so realistic that it looks like you're on set, or staring at it through a window. It also can supposedly be disorienting for some people because we're conditioned to 24 fps.

I'd like to see it in that mode but the nearest theater to me is about an hour away. Might still be worth it, though.
