It's definitely Sm-ow-g,if it really was Smaug, there'd also be Gimili's cousin Bay-lin,Arumon and a creepy guy named Grime-a Wormtongue
What's that? Those characters don't exist? Hmm that must mean there is no dragon named Smog.

The Hobbit wasn't originally a part of Tolkien's linguistic universe. Could have gone either way, but now it's Smowg for sure.
Bonfire NoteIiwahh titump: the protest of a writer whose hand has been forced.
I'm sorry, I can't begrudge the guy. He's a total Tolkien fanboy and given the chance, anyone who's that big a fan would do it, television personality or not.
I know I sure as heck would jump for joy at the opportunity.
Plus, haven't you heard of the Colbert Bump? If anything the movie'll do even better because of it...

It's supposed to make the film so realistic that it looks like you're on set, or staring at it through a window. It also can supposedly be disorienting for some people because we're conditioned to 24 fps.
I'd like to see it in that mode but the nearest theater to me is about an hour away. Might still be worth it, though.
