State tourism slogan.
Let God do His work, we will see to ours. Bring in the candles.I should probably drop in given that I live in the peach state. Can't wait to go to Dragon Con.
I don't know if Alabama has any big cons.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there's an easily findable list of cons in Alabama.
There's Mobicon in Mobile, but that's in May so you're out of luck there for another 9 months. In October, there's Con+Stellation in Huntsville, if you're looking for an SF con.
(Also, please note these aren't recommendations, as I've never been to them. Just what I can find in quickie web searches.)
All your safe space are belong to TrumpThere's also an anime con in Birmingham, but the site doesn't even tell me when it is. >_>
There's Madicon, in Harrisonburg, VA for all ya'll in the upper south.
Let God do His work, we will see to ours. Bring in the candles. You know what sucks. Finding out that your state actually has a few cons shortly before moving.
People are mirrors. If you smile, a smile will be reflected. There's Dragon Con in Atlanta. Never been, but my friend went.
Been to D*C for... um, most of the times from 1997 onwards.
Depending on how one feels about large crowds, it may be a bit overwhelming. Last year it had (officially, at least) about 50K people, spread out over 4 hotels in the downtown Atlanta area. This year they're using 5 hotels, but unless they seriously spread out the tracks it's still going to be an unholy mess. Like 3/4ths of the tracks and other places to see (like the dealer and artist rooms) are in the Hyatt Regency or Marriott Marquis hotels.
And for all that you hold holy, do not get a room at the Hyatt Regency! Yes, it's one of the "core" hotels from way back when, but for a hotel designed to host major conferences it has a really retarded elevator setup, with all of 5 elevators for the entire hotel. Especially at night people can wait for up to an hour just to find a car that has room in it.note And check-out time on Monday? You really do not want to be there.

Indeed it is. Where does that saying come from, anyway?
