Hm... Reminds me of Notch, who recently did the same thing.
Was that before or after he sold the series to Microsoft?
Well, Adam will probably be an excellent showrunner. I would be more worried about this if Pen was actually leaving the series, because I think his sense of innocence is what's at the core of the show, as evidenced by the more light-hearted earlier episodes. But as I understand it, most of the serious stuff and character development has come from the other writers, so I don't expect any real decline in quality. In short, as long as the show has it's writing crew, it will remain interesting, and as long as it has Pen Ward around in some capacity, it will remain Adventure Time.
Neither. By selling the series (and Mojang too, I believe) to Microsoft, he disconnected himself from the game. I read an article about it, and I think he feels pretty much the same as Ward - that they've created something that got out of control. (though that's just my opinion)
He's not leaving the show though. He's still gonna write and storyboard, so I can't see him ditching the characters he voices. But apparently he hasn't been involved deeply in the show since somewhere in Season 5!
That's because by that point, it wasn't really his show anymore. All these other writers and animators came in and put in their own ideas and made it just as much their own. You look at the show then, and how it is now, it's like two completely different shows.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatSo Skylar Page was mainly kept in the office of his own show to keep the couch from flying away.
Now Pentleton Ward was mainly kept in the office of his own show to keep the couch from flying away.......
It sounded to me more like he got tired of pressure of making popular show's quality keep up with its popularity and would rather do something that takes less effort than that <_<
Yeah. They announced that during the Comic-con panel.
Am I the only one who thinks that season six has been more consistent so far than season 5? Out of the sixteen that have aired, I loved seven (Wake Up, Escape from the Citadel, The Tower, Breezy, Something Big, Ocarina, and Thanks for the Crabapples, Guiseppe), really liked five (Sad Face, Food Chain, Little Brother, Nemesis, and Joshua and Margret Investigations), liked one (The Prince Who Wanted Everything), and was meh on three (James II, Furniture and Meat, and Princess Day).
Two new sneak peeks.
Jake the Brick, which I found to be oddly poignant, for how simple it is:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPxusmmUUKw&list=UUMsgXPD3wzzt8RxHJmXH7hQ
And Astral Plane, which got to me on a personal level, because the last thing Finn says is exactly what I always say during a Simon episode:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du79uCBo0RU&list=UUMsgXPD3wzzt8RxHJmXH7hQ
So I guess you guys know that Pen Ward said he was kinda sorta quitting the show.
Were there any freak-outs when the news first broke out?

Just a lesson for everybody who hits it big with demo tape. When you get the contract have a fixed storyline in mind, keep to it, then move on to your next project.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."Not really, as far as I can tell. If you read back over the last page or so, you can see that nobody is all that messed up about it. Romantically, the story of Adventure Time is that a strange, lovable oddball, as straight as Jonathan Richman, and with almost as much innocence, miraculously got the chance to make a children's show, and as he made it, a rag-tag crew of outsiders found each-other and became the show's writers, and together they changed children's television forever and made something beautiful, with Pen Ward's innocence at the core, and all the subversive ideas the writers had elevating that beyond what it could have been otherwise. As long as Pen Ward is around in some capacity (He's still going to do storyboards and voices), the show won't lose that innocence. The show is Pen's baby, he won't let that happen. And as long as most of the crew stays around, it won't be any less bizarre or ground-breaking. That's my take on it, anyway. This is much less of a big deal than the internet wants everybody to think it is.
-sniff-
That…that was beautiful the way you put it.

Thank you! I try.
I wonder if Rusty the boy adventurer ever had any kids of his own?
Rusty's dad built the bomb.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."He had two, but they're as dumb as a post
Eh, being fair they're growing out of it. I mean once all those clones bit the dust they kind of had to.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.I actually liked this episode more than I thought I would. I was expecting it to be boring, but whether it was the quality of the writing, or the long string of episodes featuring the supporting cast, plus the break, but it was really nice to just hang with Finn and Jake for a while. And it had two of the funniest moments in the season so far: Finn's reaction to Jake screaming about the Ghost Fly (Okaay.), and Jake killing the fly, just as it was ascending to a higher plane.
I forgot about that since I'm stuck with Netflix, which refuses to believe any episodes beyond "Showdown at Cremation Creek!" exist, even now.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatThat was a good episode. Peppermint Butler pulled an epic Screw This, I'm Outta Here
Maaaaan, I forgot about the new schedule!
Watching it elicitly now.
- They totally added more sound effects to the opening credits.
- Aw, Jake gets anxious tummies too.
- I'm surprised Jake didn't add the fly to the soup.
- Balls if Fly Finn isn't creepy.
- Heyyy, at least Jake got to see the astral plane.
- I am sure the fly still got to got to a glorious peaceful realm.
- Oh dear. At least everything worked out in the end, as long as brain and organ damage from lack of oxygen doesn't exist in Ooo.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.As always, once the Show Runner steps back, Status Quo will be the only remaining god. The show shall settle into random villain of the week, with no new lasting elements added ever again. So say we all?
