You should probably remove the King Kong/ Planet of the Apes references. They don't really make much sense.

They're primates, kexruct; that's the only justification necessary.

[up][up] Well yeah, but it's still kinda obtuse.

Slaking'd make more sense, but I'm not complaining because the imagery it draws in my head is funny. Just add a flying Yanma around and you'll see.

@Kexruct: What Sullen Frog said.

@Silent Reverence: Slaking would fit Kong better in terms of appearance, but I chose Electivire due to the fact Slaking are far too lazy to do such feats. Glad you have fun mental imagery from the analogies, though.

Actually, the references to popular culture in general are annoying. It's like, who says whatever world this is can't have normal animals? I mean, we only have seen a few parts of it, and it's definitely just a different version of Earth.

I take it since PokÚmon are an important enough element in the life and society of PokÚarth, they'd take enough value to merit some references. it's not whether there's normal animals or not, that's not of the issue (unless it is for some entries?). But it's like, well, on one end you have a dog. On the other end you have a dog that can pierce wood with a swipe of his tail and who can burst flames and leave behind horrible scars, not to mention shoot friggin' mouth beams. Who'd get the better end of the "wow maybe they can do X too?" stick?

I, for one, like the references a lot, because they make the world being presented feel more alive and self-consequential. A good example of that is the Lugia entry.

[up][up] Eh, most of the others (including myself) think they're fun. Besides, whether Pokemon and Real Life animals exist together or not, Pokemon almost certainly feature more prominently in the cultures of all canons, so it would make sense for the pop-culture icons to reflect that.

EDIT: Epicly ninja'd.

Your army sucks.
Yeah, we're going under the assumption that there aren't any normal animals left. If they were to co-exist, normal animals would be driven to extinction due simply not being able to compete.

Though I agree that we should cut back on the pop culture references and potholes. It'll make things look more professional and less obviously troper-ish (which is a bad thing by the way).
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!

[up] Oh dear, now I'm conflicted as to whether i should remove the references or not. What to do, what to do... I mean, you're probably right about it looking more professional, but it does kinda flesh out the universe in a semi-subtle way (Not to mention it's downright fun)...

I feel the pop culture references are ok, just so long as the stay in the "in Human Culture" section, mostly because more than a few pokemon wouldn't have anything else to talk about in that section.

[up] Alright, since more people seem to be OK with them than against them, I'll keep them.

God dammit I just abandoned ship on my past dibs and already I kind of want to do Munna and Musharna.

Or maybe pick up Stantler again.

EDIT: Hmm...actually, have we done articles on Silph or Devon?

Not to my knowledge on any of those two companies. There has been some talk about them with regards to the PokÚball Article though.

I love Musharna way too much, but then again writing something on these companies might be more up my alley...

Finally edited out the "less savory sexual antics", as Tracer Bullet called them. Although I was reluctant to...

In other news, I'm probably gonna start on Vulaby soon. Though this project is kinda distracting me from working on an epic fic of mine I should be updating. For that reason I may take a short break from writing articles after Vulaby. Though I REALLY want to do at least one of the Kami trio at some point - they're one of my favorite legendary trios. (Particularly Landorus.)

Where's Tangent 128? I've been looking back through the thread, and he doesn't seem to have updated the indexes in a while.

Finally, judging from the previously-mentioned readthrough of the thread, we need to find a way to get new contributors like myself on here, considering the active dropping out of major contributors like Calamity Jane and to a lesser extent Marioguy (Sullen Frog also says he dropped out, but he responded to something said about my Electabuzz article, so I'm not sure).

I have indeed dropped out, though that doesn't mean I don't keep up with the thread anymore.

[up][up] Tangent is always around, we just use the main page as the index now.

[up][up] Mmkay. Glad you still keep up with things.

[up] OK, then. Is it okay if I link my Electabuzz post on the main page for now?

Thanks a lot, SR. Now Rex's mom owns a Nidoran. D:

Even though I'd already planned for her to own one beforehand.
