The PokÚdex - Extended Fanon Edition:

Besides a sandstorm? No idea. And sand isn't exactly fertile soil.

I was thinking maybe he's a generic raincloud. Non-destructive and good for plants. Although thhat doesn't explain his typing...

Landorus is an odd thing; it is a raging sandstorm... That is a fertility deity, and puts in their places the wind and lightning tricksters... Oh, and while the fertility kami, Inari, is female or androgynous, this guy is always male...

An water Suijin would be a better 3rd member of the trio...

Perhaps Landorus is just in touch with his feminine side?
This is gonna take a while.
I've got it. Landorus is fog.

The best way to water some types of plants is not with rain, but with mist. Fog is a cloud that literally touches the groud, and is a natural mist.

This means Tornadus is the god of wind, Thundurus is the god of lightning, and Landorus is the god of humidity! Even though none of them can even learn water attacks!

And that's why Garbodorus was the most awesome thing to grace the Pokemon fandom. Somebody over here has to have seen it at /vp/ and has to have saved the image.

Who was Garbodorus?

Also, does anyone have an explaination for gendered legendaries? Why do we know that the kami trio are male, but don't know what Zekrom is?

Because they told us? I'd imagine Tornadus/Thundurus would immediately make it known that they were male, and Landorus would be all "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not female, but I can kinda see where you're coming from."
This is gonna take a while.

Guess Who...?
Considering how Reshiram has been described by its creators as "lady-like, " I'd argue that most legendaries are probably closer to Magypsies than being definitively gendered.

Can you please describe it without Fan Myopia? Because I have never played Mother3 in my entire life.
This is gonna take a while.
If that's true, the kami trio can talk? At least telepathically if not vocally?

I thought of another possible reason why. Someone just checked. So why can we check the genders of some legendaries but not others?

4036 Calamity Jane, Fri, 18th Mar '11 1:41:42 PM from California Relationship Status: I'd need a PowerPoint presentation
If we just checked, then it's probably because some legendaries are nicer about it than others, who would probably denounce them as perverts.
This is gonna take a while.

Guess Who...?
@ Jane: They're beings with characteristics of both male and female entities, with a slight to moderate trend towards the characteristics of one gender over the other. Some reference material...

Well, there is the vetenarian method of checking, but what about the move Attract?

And also: GAH! MY EYES!

Your army sucks.
Well they don't breed so they may not have a sex. But they see themselves as males, so they do have a gender.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!

Guess Who...?
^ Wouldn't that be more of a case of masculine/feminine but not male/female? I mean gender is closely related to sex...

Now I'm wondering if those clouds are clothing rather than parts of their bodies, cause they might be hiding something.

And now I found my notes from last night, and apparently I was thinking the exact same thing then as well.

Edit: ...How do I do a tvtropes link with a single word...

[up][up]Their legends refer to them as male. They have a male gender identity. They're effectively male in every sense except, maybe, actual biology. Its hard to really be sure with Legendaries.

Also, I wouldn't let Made Of Meat hear you say that...

Also, has anyone heard of "Minomosters"? Essentially a PokÚmon clone for Facebook. Sounds liek a good experiment to learn if Awkward Zombie is right about the "are you still playing PokÚmon?" thing... [lol]
Thanks.

What exactly was the curse Landorus put on Tornadus and Thundurus? And are there any other members of their species? Because they don't breed with Ditto.

4045 Calamity Jane, Fri, 18th Mar '11 2:21:58 PM from California Relationship Status: I'd need a PowerPoint presentation
That's because they're in the No Eggs Egg Group, shared with all of the other legendaries, including Lati@s, and Baby Pokemon.
This is gonna take a while.

It was the "Curse of BST-30", of course.

Also, I'm pretty sure they're unique creatures. Gender does not necessarily equal breed.

Guess Who...?
^ Wouldn't be the first time that an agendered entity has been described with male pronouns. Also, I find it to be a bit of a stretch to instantly connect masculine behavior with a male identity, I mean, we have masculine women and feminine men, but that doesn't mean that they're male and female respectively. That said, I'm probably spending more time thinking about this than I ought to...

Manaphy is...yeah.

It and Volcarona are the reason why the definition of a legendary is kind of iffy.
