What kind of name is "Three hundred and fifty-eight divided by two"?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntSome random crap made by the maker I think.
"Wait, it's IV. Of course they are. They'd make IV for Dreamcast." - Enlong, on yet another FFIV remake358 days shared by two people, Roxas and Xion.
Umbran Climax◊Yeah, but how are you supposed to pronounce it?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntThree-Five-Eight Over Two Days.
Umbran Climax◊Oh. Nearly a year it was.
"Wait, it's IV. Of course they are. They'd make IV for Dreamcast." - Enlong, on yet another FFIV remakeI thought the sharing was between Sora and Roxas, them being the same person and all.
I don't have to spoilertag that, do I?
Since the thread got ahead of me...
RE: Yaoi factor
It just bugs me that both people who hate the games and people who make up yaoi pairings can't get it through their skulls that just because two men have a relationship closer than "acquaintance" and not "rival" doesn't mean they want to jump each other's bones. I mean, I love to rib the Gears Of War fandom over "bro love", but I don't see it there either (and then it's mostly because they freak out about "teh gay").
Sora being more excited about Riku's appearance makes sense to me - he may love Kairi, but Kairi was safe and well when he last saw her. Riku was pulled into darkness and could have died or worse. I'd have probably given *my* long-lost and possibly dead childhood friend a bigger reception than someone I knew was safe all that time.
Het Is Ew bothers me. But by the same token, I can't tell you how much it bugs me that yaoi fangirls are loathed as the scum of the earth, but shows and games with a yuri fandom are a-okay and, of course, "hot". The Double Standard bothers me more than whether or not a bunch of teenage girls have over active imaginations.
Now that was way too serious, and I'm beary sorry for going off on a tangent.
But not for that pun.

That was beary interesting and enlightening.
"Wait, it's IV. Of course they are. They'd make IV for Dreamcast." - Enlong, on yet another FFIV remakeGOOD. You shouldn't be sorry for that pun.
'Fraid this is just There Are No Girls on the Internet syndrome. Also, Bear in mind (That wasn't intentional I promise) That it may not be the same people who are against one and for the other- I can see most of the people who dissapprove of the Yaoi fangirling in this thread would also dissapprove of the reverse.
Yes, it has come to the point that giving a game shit for having a yaoi fandom is like giving a game shit for having voice acting. It's become the standard and there's nothing anyone can do about it aside of hoping the fangirls aren't phenomenally obnoxious (like KH's).

I don't mind that KH has a yaoi fandom. I mind that it comprises something like 97% of the entire fandom. Those of us who enjoy the game for its actual text—the Cosmic Horror of the Heartless, the themes of friendship and loyalty, the recontextualization of Disney films—have a dickens of a time finding each other amidst the horde of screechy schoolgirls who seem to have been playing some sort of Organization XIII Dating Sim instead of the actual games.
Stuff what I do.Kingdom Hearts fans seem united in one aspect: hatred of women. Especially the female fans. This disturbs me, as a feminist.
https://www.facebook.com/emileunmedicatedanduncutWell, I'm about two hours into 368/2 days and yet to meet a single Disney character.
From what I've seen of 358/2 Days, it takes a LONG while before you actually get out of Twilight Town. Which sucks, because Twilight Town is fucking boring.
You're telling me.
There's still very little interaction with characters after leaving (and I've yet to see a FF character, unless those 3 kids count), It reminds me of Reverse Rebirth, which makes it kind of sad on insight.

On Shipping:
I've never really understood the mindset behind ship wars. Does Sora love Kairi? Does he love Riku? Does it really even matter? (Also, the answer, if anything, is totally both). That said, I can definitely see why it tends to be the majority of the fandom. Given how convoluted the main plot is, and the numerous retcons that have been introduced *, it makes sense that they'd focus on something relatively easier to comprehend.
On the title 358/2 Days:
I've heard this explained a couple of different ways. "It's the fact that the 358 days were experienced by two people, Roxas and Xion." "It's because at the end of the game, Roxas wakes up in Twilight Town and doesn't remember anything that happened, passing it off as a dream. He spent 358 Days with the Organization, but thinks it was only two days; the day before, and the day that he wakes up."
Yes, I have heard both of those. Don't know if Word of God has said anything on the matter yet.
Also:
358/2 Days waaaaaay overuses verbal tics/ catch phrases. I swear, if Xigbar says "as if" or Axel says "Got it memorized?" one more time, I'm gonna reach through the screen and strangle them.
multi-ninja'd.
Yeah, it takes for-freaking-ever to get out of Twilight Town, and I don't remember seeing any FF characters, outside of the shop moogle. It's a shame, really.

Actually, I have a much easier time finding people who hate yaoi fangirls than finding yaoi fangirls.
I've just never seen the same animosity for yuri fanboys that exists for yaoi fangirls.
I don't have a problem wiht either, honestly. I'm just bitter about the way the fandom has gone, combined with the games themselves not really helping just now.
So have I, but I've never been on fanfiction.net or similar sites.
That's because, as far as I've seen, they're not especially vocal in the fandoms.
Eh, in my experience, the yuri fanbases are pretty vocal too (especially the Daria fandom!), they're just considered more "acceptable".

"I thought the sharing was between Sora and Roxas, them being the same person and all.
I don't have to spoilertag that, do I? "
Sora was still asleep though.
Though I guess you could say those days were all experienced by one person since they all come from Sora.
@Rebo: Yeah that double standard is pretty stupid. I pretty much dislike anyone changing the canon for their own personal satisfaction, even if they remove a character I hate.
Umbran Climax◊Not quite getting what you mean by "change", Jotun. If you're talking about changing how the characters interact, or how the 'verse works, I'm in total agreement. If it's just something like "Character X is gay for the entirety of this fic". . . Yeah, don't really see how it's a big deal. Alternative Character Interpretation and all that, y'know?

And I believe Fanservice was the entire point of introducing
"Wait, it's IV. Of course they are. They'd make IV for Dreamcast." - Enlong, on yet another FFIV remakeOrgyOrganization XIII.
