I prefer Mickey or Riku. And sometimes Larxene.

Beary late, but:

American games still have characters shout "Take that!" and "Gotcha!" too. I don't see the point in singling out JRP Gs for following conventions.

I am aware American games have conventions too, but this thread is about a JRPG, so I figured it would be okay to compare it to another JRPG. There's nothing wrong with following conventions; I was more amused by the similarities in the voice actors, the lines just helped more. To be fair, yes, some American voice actors can sound similar to each other too.

So anyway, I can't keep their names straight, but I've only tried the guy with the ax-thing that looks kind of like a guitar, and the guy with the shield. I rarely bother with magic so I like the ones that can kill things in just a combo or two.

@Zetaseal: Saïx is the guy with the axe-thing and Vexen with the shield.

If I'm not using Roxas or Xion, I generally use Xaldin or Axel, just because they can be delightfully spammy sometimes.

Also, Xemnas is soooooo slooooooow. He was a quick mo'fo' back in KHII. What happened to all that speed?

He was terribly slow in KHII, he could teleport there though.

Bosses become severely underpowered when they become P Cs, that's common knowledge. And in KHII, he was powered up by kingdom Hearts during the final battle, explaining all his new tricks.

Now, how come he can't keep up against even the powered-down version you fight in the Altar of Naught in KHII just mystifies me.

Okay, point taken. Still, you'd think that the Superior, Number I of the Organization, would maybe be just a little more maneuverable.

Also, I can't hit anything with his aerial. This might just be because of the weapon he had, though; I've only used him twice.

You know, I told myself I wouldn't get this game until it dropped in price, because I hate paying above $30 for DS games. Then I went to Amazon and saw it for $30.

Obviously it was a sign.

Okay, $5 is a really pitiful price cut, but you take what you can get when you're a broke manchild. >.>

Maybe he came into power from, you know, being smart and charismatic rather than being really good at kicking ass? It would be one of the first times it happens in videogames, specially from Japan, but perhaps he's a great asset to the Ogranization that only happens to be really good at a desk job no one else can do or understand.

That would explain Demyx, too. I don't see him with an actual desk job so maybe he's the ultimate coffee boy or his water clones are the wet dream (pun intended) of every janitor.

Well, I guess that's fair. Still, he was such an able face-stomper in KHII. I'm not asking to play as god-Xemnas, or anything, but I just kind of found him to be disappointing as-is.

That we all can agree on. I assume maybe the KHII Xemnas is the same character, only played at the absolute peak of human capacity.

Mansex

Speaking of which, today I realized that the final boss battle of every Kingdom Hearts game is really gay. Not That There's Anything Wrong with That.

Kingdom Hearts: You fight a giant shirtless bishonen strapped into an organic looking battleship that has penis-shaped laser turrets.

Kingdom Hearts 2: You fight a guy whose name is an anagram for Mansex and the heroes defeat him by holding hands and shooting a magical beam of yaoi at him.

Chain of Memories: He's got pink hair and his affinity is flowers.

358/2 Days: Um... She might be a futa?

Okay yeah, I was stretching for the last one but come on. This is ridiculous.

Of course, that means unfortunate implications to why there is only one two female organization member. Zexion should have been female, he certainly looks the part.
