but it does play into Japan's love of word puns
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I love this series but "Keyblade" doesn't sound much better.
Not that it stopped 9-year old me from trying to cut someone with a house key during recess. "Trying to defeat the Heartless and save the world from An-suum" didn't look so good on the incident report.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I once saw a guy walking around with a Keyblade.
No cosplay or anything.
Just walking about with a Keyblade.
Never had I been happier.
They're pronounced the exact same way.
> I once saw a guy walking around with a Keyblade.
did he have spiky hair
New theme music also a boxhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiceless_velar_fricative
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Nope. Just normal, boring, brown hair.
Also, he was resting it on his shoulder while walking, like a real badass.

Was there a dog and dog behind him
New theme music also a boxNo, he was just walking on his lonesome.
Great, now I really want to make my own keyblade. Having a Wishing Star IRL would be awesome.

Somebody once told me the world was macaroni, I took a bite out of a treeWhat are the odds of Xehanort being redeemed? I mean, yeah, he's had some humanising moments in the past, but he's so far gone and willingly stripped himself so completely I can't imagine salvation for him that isn't an Ass Pull. I kinda just want him to finally get his comeuppance, maybe unable to understand why he was wrong in a similar way to his Heartless all the way back to KHI.
Also hoping for Eraqus to make an appearance, reprised by Mark Hamill. I don't want him to come back to life, maybe be in a flashback or as a Force Ghost.

Eraqus's Keyblade was in the teaser and his younger self was in a few of the trailers. I'd say an appearance from normal Eraqus would be inevitable.
It's been 3000 years…The Master Keeper keyblade means Aqua these days, not Eraqus
I have a message from another time...> Great, now I really want to make my own keyblade. Having a Wishing Star IRL would be awesome.
going to be edgy here but Oathkapper would be my choice

Life is more fun with infinite MP.How is Oathkeeper edgy?
I probably picture another keyblade when I said Oathkeeper
I was thinking of Oblivion
New theme music also a boxNot as edgy as the black coat.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.How is Oblivion edgy when it's associated with Xion?
It's actually associated with Riku I think?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? And Riku is so edgy he uses darkness and wears a blindfold!
New theme music also a boxIIRC the following keyblades are associated with the following charatcers
- Sora: Kingdom Key, not sure if III wil ladd a new one. Ultima Weapon is also associated with him to an extent.
- Roxas: Oathkeeper, Oblivion and Two Become One
- Kairi: Destiny's Embrace and Oathkeeper
- Riku: Way to Dawn and Oblivion, III adds a new one but we don't have the name yet..
I'd like to interrupt this list to point out that Roxas's keyblades are indeed associated with other characters. Because while Roxas is the wielder and Sora can use them, the pair represents the latter's bonds with Kairi and Riku (specifically the promise Sora made to Kairi in Traverse Town and the reunion and subsequent battles Sora and Riku had in Hollow Bastion).
- Mickey: Kingdom key D and Star Seeker
- Terra: Earthshaker (and Ends of the Earth by extension) and Darkgnaw (and Chaos Ripper by extension)
- Aqua: Rainfall (and Stormfall by extension) and Master's Keeper (due to being the only keyblade she can use after certain events)
- Ventus: Lost Wind
- Xehanort: No Name and the Goatblade
- Eraqus: Master's Keeper
- Xion: Two Become One (though more for symbolism considering her fate). In the case of Oblivion, that is also applicable for the same reason and that Roxas gains the key (and that his loaning it to the other character associated with it reminded him of Xion)
- Lea (AKA Axel): Bond of Flame, Frolic Flame and lea unnamed mashup of the two. Helps that the former and latter keys are based on his other iconic weapon, the Eternal Flame chakrams.

Oblivion is associated with Xion because when Riku grabs it during the DEEP DIVE he is reminded of Xion.
Also, this definition as given by Google:
the state of being forgotten, especially by the public.
Yeah. I, uh, don't know what to make of that. Doesn't apply to Xion at all. No sirree.
I never thought of that and I totally agree.
X-Blade just sounds stupid.
