… I remember seeing volumes of Neo a few years ago in a library (I thought it was a sequel at the time…), but I don't know if it's fully published in French…
I should watch !? someday too… this series has too many different adaptations, damn it. Though it's not quite Code Geass-level…

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Wasn't big on the SHAFT anime, but the increased wackiness didn't really do much for me anyway.
I've seen the raws. Fate emotes. Like, with smiles. It's unnatural.

Neo is living proof that, even if you stick Anya into every chapter, she's still useless.
I still think she should have had more curves when she grew up. It's kind of stupid for a ten year old to worry about being flat chested, but then it turns out she was right all along Because Reasons.
Well, she did work in London as a fortune teller for awhile...
Maybe her unseen family tended to be flat chested, which she should know even if we don't, and it'd give her serious reasons to worry about her future on the subject.
Now that I think of it, wasn't Anya the first one to suffer Akamatsu's no-face treatment?
I think that 'honor' actually goes to Ayaka's father. I won't count Negi and Anya's classmates since they only were seen from the back.
@Arha: I like to think that future photo we saw was of her post-breast-reduction-surgery.
That'd be because that "adult Goku" thing took place within Dragonball, not DBZ. To my knowledge, all dubs which changed the voice made the DB-DBZ bridge the cutoff. (ie. Raditz onward.)
No, the Mexican dub gave Goku a male grown voice as soon as he appeared in the Tournament after his big timeskip. However, Krillin kept his child voice until midway into the Frieza arc.
Weird. Thankfully, I said "to my knowledge". Which was true.
Just watched the first 4 episodes of Negima!?… that sure is a different beast. It's pretty fun to watch so far, and certainly in a whole other level than the first anime in terms of animation and sound. Hell, even the voice acting is much better despite the being almost unchanged! I suddenly find Yue's voice perfect even though I had so much trouble with it before… The removal of fanservice doesn't bother me in the slightest either. I laugh a lot, at least. The story being narrated by Kinzō Freaking Ushiromiya helps a bit.
Now I'm not sure I'm comfortable with Asuna!?'s much more quirky personality (Chupacabra…? —'.`—), and she doesn't seem to be as close to Negi as in the first series − their pactio seems to happen too quickly too. Same with Nodoka!? actually… yeah, every happens very quick in this series.
Also… the hell's the deal with Nagi's voice? His first voice was perfect, why change it… I could buy it if it was his 13 year old self, but as an adult, err…
Also, I think I heard the sound effect of his magic bullets somewhere.
… oh yeah, and that 3-card system is stupid indeed. ò.Ô

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Yeah, very lazy.
A foreshadowing, I'd say.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. They gave Nagi the same voice as Nekane so HEAVY SPOILERS: we could be led to believe he was the Black Rose Baron instead of Nekane.
So yeah, they gave him a voice that didn't fit him just so we could have a lame mystery. Even worse, it also led to Negi being given a child voice in his mature form in the Mundus Magicus OVA, because the franchise grew obsessed with keeping Negi a child forever some way or another (a variant of the pure waifu obsession, perhaps?)
Yeah, Negima!? may be weird and with a lot of stupid stuff, but I at least find it amusing.
The fact that this thread has reached this many pages brings a smile to my face. Actually I feel as if I won an Oscar. I want to thank everyone who made this possible...Kamo-kun...Asuna Narusegawa...Nodoka Maehara...and many others. I can't wait for the eventual roast of my person. I know none of you will hold back.
"Our Magic is not omnipotent... a little bit of courage is the real magic."You know your own creator likes some idiot shmuck better than you, do you?
That being said, there is some hope that UQ has redeemed itself in later chapters. I don't think it ever will, since Negi would have to come back as his old self. That's the success of Negima, along with the girls of course.

"Our Magic is not omnipotent... a little bit of courage is the real magic."Akamatsu decided for Negi to dive off a cliff about the the last quarter or so of the series, so that in no way would redeem UQ Holder for me. Especially if he's now he's so important the universe can't last without him or something.
UQ Holder can redeem itself by ending in a timely manner though.

Now seeing how there has been some debate on this I figured I would ask here.
Are the Baka Rangers in Negima Second Season a Five-Man Band? Can someone add some context if so? The example has been removed twice on there, then added back, then changed to The Team etc.

Hmm...not sure. I don't think they're actually a thing enough (outside that one stint that occurred at the end of an episode...I think) for it to count.

All this talk about the different versions of Negima reminds me of how I had to tell everyone the ending of Negima!? Neo second-hand since scanlations stopped. And everyone's amusing reactions.
