Maybe, or maybe the massacre you're facing is tied to something else that gets triggered by being vilified without being reset when you change that to idolized the wrong way.
If you stealth kill the agent with no witnesses (only possible with very high stealth score and a silenced weapon) then you still are in the clear. I think my very first runthrough I made it to the legion's fort with no issues, and this was after I had tomato-sauced Vulpes on the streets of NV.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youHmm...could be, I suppose.
Maybe I'll poke around in some of the save files, see how much I can get away with resetting.
Alternatively, I'll just move up my killing spree a bit. I really wanted to kill Caesar with Joshua's gun, though...
Oh, speaking of which, I forget, does Dead Money have a lot of radiation to worry about? I was thinking about doing it soon, and I wanted to know if it was safe to leave behind my radiation suit (though I have plenty of Rad-Away and Rad-X, so maybe I wouldn't need it anyway?).
Oh God! Natural light! You lose everything when you start Dead Money.
It's part of the fun.
Oh really when? You won't need it. It can't help you where you're going.

In a cute little safe box you can access once you've beaten the DLC.
Oh really when?Ah, okay then.
Where's it located, again?

Oh God! Natural light!Next to the latter.
Quest items are not removed. So that one laser pistol you can find for the brotherhood you can take with you
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youAlso, if you're carrying a Van Graff laser or plasma rifle, you can keep that, since those are also quest items.
Having weapons in Dead Money means nothing if you don't have the ammunition for them. Does DM even have small energy cells? I forgot.
If you have Lonesome Road, though, you can smuggle in a fairly great Unarmed weapon by killing Rawr and getting his talon, but waiting until you begun Dead Money before crafting it into the Fist of (the North) Rawr. Unlike the BoS laser pistol and the Van Graff laser/plasma rifle, it requires no ammunition, so with weapon repair kits here and there or Jury Rigging, and a proper Unarmed build, you're set.
Sick of everything.Yes. Dead Money contains some amount of several common ammunition types, including SEC (you can find a Laser Pistol in the Villa), MFC (for the Holorifle), 20 ga (for the Caravan Shotgun and Lever-Action Shotgun), 12 ga (for the Hunting Shotgun), .308 (for the BAR), and .357 (goes with Police Pistol).
Also, you can sneak in the Van Graff Combat Armor, which will make you far better protected than intended.
Argh!!!!
I wish I'd known that years ago. While I was doing a run that said "fuck you!" to both the Van Graffs and the Crimson Caravan, so I could have kept that armor and the plasma rifle/laser rifle that you get from the Van Graff stooge that helps you guard the door.
Just gotta make sure to keep that guarding quest active so you don't have to return their stuff.
@Karket The Dalek: I don't recall Dead Money having a lot of radiation, though it has a lot of everything to worry about.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"No radiation. But there is the Cloud. Which is its own brand of "GOD DAMMIT". Though i did manage to get all of Dean's stashes which was good!
This was back in the good ol' days when radiation was trivial and did no damage to the player.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youyeah i'm still conflicted on the radiation mechanics in in the FPS Fallouts because i can't tell what's worse, having a seemingly minor stat reduction rendering you immobile/unable to aim properly when you have your favorite armor/weapon on or a stacking max HP reduction
Try imagining how far the universe extends! Keep thinking about it until you go insane.I did a quick search for a recommended mods page and didn't find one.
Any recommended mods?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Sorry to butt into a thread asking for help undeserved, but my modded up New Vegas just lags really badly whenever I go near the Legion Safehouse, or the Nipton pass, or the Nevada Highway Patrol Station. Does anyone know how to fix it?
There's a reddit Fallout Mods that would probably be better able to help you. You'd also have to tell people what mods you're running and what the load order is.
What’s the subreddit called?
...Fallout Mods...
Well, um, here's the thing...I have been able to do just that.
In my previous playthrough, that is.
Seriously, though, do the console commands just not work for some reason?
