I honestly don't know if dust is the actual issue, I just kinda suck the button back out. i think it's like, displaced or something. I was surprised how few games actually used them so i didn't notice it for a while.
nyo ho hoMy 3ds had l button broken and I did notice it since I happened to play those games where it is necessary to be less annoyed
So I switched to xl
Some of these things can depend on the way you hold your 3DS.
That being said, I think you can contact Nintendo Customer Service and see if it can get fixed if nothing else works.
What do you mean "sucking the button?"
But seriously, what exactly does the trick for you? I could use some help to get it to work.
I think it's a problem with the whole DS line. The same thing happene to my D Si.
It's every system. The L button is well-known to be made of anti-nintendium.
I do exactly what it sounds like I do. I wrap my lips around the button, inhale as hard as I can, and then it works. Don't ask me why, don't ask me how I found out, it just works.
nyo ho hoMine had the R button stuck.
I got it unstuck by bashing the button against my knee once.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987My top screen flipped me off once.
I condemned it to eternal damnation and then it worked just fine.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! The L button on my 3DS is still working fine and dandy. I just can't hear the telltale 'click' sound from it anymore.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefWell, a knee smack and pressing at a certain part later, it seems to work. Sort of.
It has to be the button dislocating somehow. And when pressing on it hard enough, something just sounds off. The R button doesn't make the sound either, so it's something with the L button.
Well, now I can atleast work around the issue.
Cross posting from the The Legendof Zelda thread: Major's Mask remake confirmed?
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."That seems pretty well-done if it's a hoax. On the other hand, this just seems unlikely to me. Now I have all my bases covered, so whatever happens I can say I called it. :P
I believe Neogaf confirmed that to be a hoax, or at least very unreliable. I'll see if I can dig up the relevant thread
Due to Club Nintendo, a coupon, and several sales I now have more 3DS games than I know what to do with. In just the past month and a half I've gotten Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Tomodachi Life and Super Mario 3D Land with Kirby Triple Deluxe on the way in the mail.
And I still haven't finished Bravely Default and Shin Megami Tensei IV.
And what's up with the platforming kick I've been on recently? I didn't even like platformers all that much growing up, I was always terrible at them.
Maybe you just got better at games in general? I know I have.
And lately, I've been sinking peoples dreams in Steel Diver Sub Wars.
Funny enough, my longest win streak of 8 came with the sub many people berate: Blue Marine AKA "The Starfox Sub"
And there seems to be people trying to form "clans" in Miiverse.
I'm surprised I ever got into playing it. I'm pretty terrible at conventinoal FPS games.
And relating to the Majora's Mask rumours: it could happen. Not saying it will, but it could.

Nintendo Video is getting really disturbing for an app freely accessible to kids.
The Cartoon Hangover universe is alright, though iffy, but I don't know what they were thinking allowing Marshmallow People.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerSales are terrible for 3DS for me, but I did just manage to find Miracle Mask for €15, so that's great. Although I haven't played Spectre's Call....
DumboSo when do you think we'll see the 4DS/whatever the next handheld is called? I personally think it'll be 2016 so that they aren't rushing it out, but with the lack of 3DS 2015 titles it's possible it'll come out then.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. That'd give the 3DS a 4 year lifespan. I don't see that happening.
My current theory is that we'll get a new home console and handheld that are developed in tandem to keep the link stronger. We're due for a new handheld around the second half of 2016, giving it a life of 5.5-6 years (depending on region) and doing a console then will give the Wii U four years, which is a bit short, but still long enough to be worth it for Wii U owners.
The GBA had lifespan of 3 1/2 years. It launched in 2001, and the DS launched in 2004. Obviously the 3DS lifespan won't be that short, but it isn't unheard of.
Regardless of when it comes out, I'm curious as to what it'll be. It'll be their first true answer to the mobile boom, and I hope they have something that can succeed even with that market active.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. They're probably merging the handheld and console into one platform for the ninth generation so when we get one we'll get the other. I'm guessing we'll get a brief introduction to it at E3 2016 and it will release in November 2017. That will give the 3DS a six year lifespan and the Wii U a five year lifespan. I think that seems reasonable and I doubt they'd want to wait much longer given how they're struggling now.
And see, I think that's way too long. Five years is typically standard (the seventh generation held on a while longer, and PS 2 was around forever, but those are outliers). Wii U is struggling, so it's better to get the next thing out a bit earlier.
Letting 3DS roll over after five, and taking Wii U with it makes the most sense to me. The only real problem is one inherent to the idea of combining the platforms, and that's that it's a total gamble. You don't have one to prop up the other if it's sagging. The total package has to fly or fall on it's own.
Wait, dust? Really? And there I was, fiddling with the button and couldn't feel like there was anything stuck there, as it goes down all the way and even makes the "click" noise like the R button.
Wonder why the L button is more suspectible than R...
