Ever17 (spoiler thread!)

At the risk of accidentally blurting out a minor spoiler, the True End manages to tie all 4 Good Ends into each other. Somehow. Trust me, saying any more than that would be a major spoiler for sure.

Ah, well, the True End is a bit different. I don't think you'll mind after you've read it.

And yeah, Tsugumi's ending is pretty bad. By the way, in case you didn't know it works like this: Takeshi has a Sora and Tsugumi route and The Kid has Sara and You. So don't try to get You ending from Takeshi's side or whatever.

Right. I'll not look at that spoiler then. By the way, why did Tsugumi suddenly start coughing up blood right before they kissed (I think?). Shouldn't she be immune to TB?

I am bad at not spoiling, apparently.

I only vaguely recall that scene, but I'm pretty sure it was something like Takeshi nibbling on her lip.

I went back and read the scene carefully again and it turns out that 'it probably happened when the building was shaking'. Takeshi bit her finger, not her lip. Eh, whatever. The more interesting thing is that while rereading that scene, it dawned on me that they could actually be making love.

Oh, they definitely had sex there.

They had something like four hours (or so, I don't remember...) of alone time, what else were they going to do?

Bust out a deck of cards and play Go Fish?

They had an hour. Perhaps I was just surprised by the speed of progress in their relationship. He was... how should I put it... very smooth, I guess? I wasn't expecting any sex in this game, though.

I think I'll try the Sora route next to see what he would do to an entity that he can't even touch.

Yeah. I recommend Sora route before the other two. There's a good reason for that order that I don't really want to get into. Let me know when you're done with that one, I want to make a comment about the ending.

Also, for the speed in the relationship development, you have to remember that Tsugumi is really not very stable at that point in her life. As soon as she finds someone she can trust, accepts and is willing to risk themselves for her of course she's going to going to attach herself immediately.

But then he has to die. I mean, I'm all for subversions of vanilla happy endings but that was just soul-crushing after all that building up of the hope that they were able to escape after all that hopelessness of the lack of progress on the first few days. I guess I'm just sort of disappointed that there's no good end awaiting you, in the true sense of the phrase, if you chose Tsugumi.

Actually, now that I think about it, it actually does look like a bad end, if you didn't previously get the actual bad end, which would subsequently look more like a worse end.

I was attempting to avoid that phrase in case someone takes offense with it, but since you said it... yeah, I thought that the sub suddenly having no battery for no good reason other than to screw the couple over was kind of an ass-pull.

Oh, don't worry, basically everyone recognizes it as such. Just keep reading.

Incidentally,, while saying nothing about what occurs, I think you can probably guess what issues will come up during Sora's route based on what you saw in Tsugumi's.

Eh, not going to give any more specifics along those lines. You have no idea how spoilery every damn thing in this story is.

This game pretty much boils down to "finish the game first, then we can talk about it".

Okay. I'm on track with the Sora route, I think. It's fairly easy to navigate this VN - just keep choosing the person whose path you want.

So there are a couple of scene changes. One of them was the first Qualle ride with Tsugumi where her mind goes haywire. I'd like to think it's just my overthinking, but as soon as I saw the phrase 'became one', I figured that they had sex in the goddamn ride. Actually, it looked vaguely like rape. And a violent one at that. What is funny is that this happened on the Sora route, but I certainly don't remember Tsugumi making love with Takeshi in the Qualle back in her own route.

Ah, well, you'll see Sora's reaction to that in a moment. And yes, this is part of what I meant by Tsugumi not being stable. She's still trying to depend on Takeshi, but in this case he's not really interested and she can't take that. Thus, she did indeed basically rape him. Luckily, this issue only comes up in one route. Not a big spoiler since the other two routes you haven't done yet don't have Takeshi as the protagonist and thus a yandere love triangle isn't as big a deal.

Oh, and no, they didn't sleep together there during Tsugumi's route.

The so-called Sora's good end is very wierd. Even wierder than Tsugumi's so-called good end. Perhaps that just goes to show the magnitude of Takeshi's stupidity. It's aaaall wasted again. All that effort and hope spots.
