This thread is for quick questions. A "quick question" is a question which has a relatively quick, generally factual answer; a question which is not likely to inspire an extended discussion.
e.g.
Quick Question: How tall is an average ten-year-old boy?
Not a Quick Question: Why are Americans obsessed with guns?
Quick Question: Why is ALS sometimes called Lou Gehrig's Disease? Who was Lou Gehrig?
Not a Quick Question: In Alan Dean Foster's Thranx Commonwealth series, is Pip a Mary Sue?
Get the idea?

I have Windows 8.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseWhere there is your problem.
There's no shame in using the printer cabe. It should find the printer automatically if it's on and connected.

hashtagsarestupidThat's the problem, I don't have a printer cable.
I was wondering if you could access the printer over the wi-fi.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIf the printer has wi-fi, then the computer could pick it up maybe?
I don't know where to access the printer.
Whenever I hit "print" it doesn't come up.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYou should first check the printer menu to see if the printer is there at all.
There should be an option in the menus to set up wi-fi connectivity. Also, get the model of your printer and go to the manufacturer's website; they should have drivers there if you need them.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Thanks.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIt use to be that I would have no problem sleeping for eight hours although I was mostly working at the time. Nowadays I have a hard time sleeping and I when I do sleep it is usually for four or five hours. I am worried, my eyesight isn't what it use to be and I am willing to try anything that allow me to sleep for eight hours. What should I do?
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"Have you tried melatonin supplements, Zzzquil, anything with diphenhydramine (Benadryl, drowsy allergy meds) note , lavender and/or chamomile, cutting out caffine at least 6 hours before bedtime, making sure your room is dark (no lights whatsoever), light therapy, or have you talked to your doctor or a sleep specialist at all?
byeNo not yet but I don't know if I can trust those sleeping aids.
"Analay, an original fan character from a 2006 non canon comic. Do not steal!"Simply taking straight-up melatonin supplements shouldn't cause issues, as far as I'm aware.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."It probably helps if you have a routine that you do to get to sleep. For instance, lots of people like to read just before they go to bed. I've heard that reading from actual paper (rather than a screen) is better somehow, but I don't know why that would be the case. Anyway, I like to have a magazine or book to read just before I go to bed. Just make sure it's not so exciting you can't put it down when you start feeling like falling asleep. (If it's the kind of text that makes you really think about important stuff it might keep you awake anyway - so maybe read something you've already read before?)
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.Reading a book/magazine strains your eyes, and makes you more tired.
I've discovered that it makes me sleep better than normal, if I want.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIf you like to use your computer right before bed, you should download f.lux. The light from screens can screw up your brain's circadian rhythm, making it think it's daytime when you really should be sleeping.
Also, avoid doing things in your bed other than sleeping. Your body might start to associate your bed with internet surfing or gaming or whatnot.
As far as I know, melatonin is non-habit forming. Haven't tried Zzzquil, though.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Excuse me, but where do I go to receive avatar help? It won't change for me.
It won't change for anyone.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseOkay. So it's a forum problem. Thanks for the clarification.
No problem.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone else@ GAP, do you have trouble falling asleep, or just staying asleep? If you have trouble falling asleep, you could see if listening to a hypnosis track will help. I listen to some which are supposed to assist with sleep.
Also look around your bedroom. I find I sleep much better when my room is tidy, and not cluttered (which means I don't sleep all that well ) Light from the windows may be a factor; if you're woken by it or it keeps you up, it might be a good idea to get blockout curtains. What's the temperature like? I find I can't sleep if I'm too hot or too cold.
I think the most important thing towards sleeping is not to be looking at bright screens in the couple of hours before going to bed, and especially not while in bed, because it mucks your sleeping patterns up.
Question: what is a "box-room"? I've heard the term and I think I know what it is, but I'm not really sure.
According to The Other Wiki, a box room is a room in a house that is noticeably smaller than the others, and is thus typically used as a small bedroom or as storage (of boxes).

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."What's the difference between a mole, an informant, and a whistleblower?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I would say that a mole is a spy embedded in an organization specifically to leak information, an informant is someone who was already in that organization and then starts leaking information, and a whistleblower is someone inside the organization who leaks information about unethical goings-on once in order to trigger an organization.
Most simply, whistleblowing is a one-time action, but the other two are ongoing, and a mole came in from the outside.
Fresh-eyed movie blogSo according to our Worst Aid page leaving a bullet inside your body after you've been shot is usually safe, unless the bullet is doing something else besides just sitting there. However I was watching M*A*S*H and they always make a point of getting out all the shrapnel from a person's body. What is the major difference between a bullet and shrapnel that makes one so much more dangerous than the other?
Which OS is it?
Start Menu or Control Panel should have Devices and Printers.
