I know, I was making a joke. You know, taking the fight literally and stating the direct cause of her loss (lightning spear through the chest), instead of the indirect cause of her loss (Kalifa dicking around).

Yeah, I think an Ocean Ocean Fruit would just deactivate itself if the user ever went too deep into his own water. Now he could potentially avoid it by controlling water to be around him and not touch him, but that sounds like a worse fate than just splashing around and drowning, since you'd basically just be free falling to the depths of the ocean.

Also a "bad luck" power sounds less like a Devil Fruit ability and more like an innate "skill." Devil Fruits aren't the source of all crazy abilities, you know.

There are hypnoists, you know.

I don't think that a hypnotist could change something like the probability of winning the lottery though,

Yeah but having a natural aura of crippling bad luck still sounds plausible in One Piece.

I mean, hell, that bounty hunter filler arc before Thriller Bark had two brothers that could attract and repel each other like magnets simply because their brotherly bonds were so strong.

Anything is possible if your heart wills it.

I can't recall any sort of powers that effect the physical world like a luck power would. With the exception of the DFs.

The art reminds me of Wakfu.

Yeah, Miraculous Ladybug looks really interesting, even to me, who has very little interest in Magical Girl type shows. I'm a sucker for different settings.

I think the best evidence of really weird powers made out of non-Devil Fruit abilities is Brook, who's able to drug trip people with his music. We also have Hawkins, whose Devil Fruit doesn't seem to have any connection with his future-seeing abilities.

Brook's music is most likely hypnotism based which is a power in the setting.

Hawkins future seeing is a good point though. Once again his predictions don't affect the physical world they just..predict it. In fact it could be just a very very advanced form of Observation Haki.

And I'd wait until we have a better understanding of Hawkins' ability before making a judgement like that.

Even then Hawkins predictions are not perfect. He was totally unable to predict Urouge using something that looked a lot like Life Return but might have been something else.

While I've no interest in R Ping or such, just wanted to say Devil Fruits are overrated. Haki is where the true power is.

Haki is boring, and doesn't preclude devil fruits.

Haki is also the main factor in that whole "power clash" thing I talked about earlier. When should P Cs get haki? Should they ever? When should they come across people with haki?

My character is a haki logia.

Bah, that should really be a haki Zoan.

Haki-Haki no Mi is a brand new, before unseen Haki-type Devil Fruit.

And it's actually terrible.
