Guess I should of specifically said playable hero or party member, or whatever.

I thought Adachi was 25 (the same age as Katsuya).

Either way, he's still younger. Funny how so few Persona users are adults, especially post Eternal Punishment.

That's bullshit. We just talked about people who have Personas when they are over 20 (Maya, Katsuya, Adachi, Baofu).

I'm pretty sure that Mitsuru and Akihiko are in their 20's are well aren't they?

Mitsuru and Akihiko are both 20. I don't know the exact date, but Arena takes place shortly before Mitsuru's birthday.

It was a joke about a very not canon anime that used that as en explanation for why the cast were all teenagers.

I guess the writers didn't know about the first 2 games.

In the start of the Jester Social Link in P4G, among other things, Adachi complains "I'm only 27!"

Well, a lot of it is the setting- The series started in high school and has focused more and more on the high school experience. People in schooling tend to have friends around the same age as them.

Third year, actually. That's when students are expected to work 100% of the time in order to get into a good school and work even harder there.

That's the cultural expectation, though it's a lot more murky and hazy in actuality.

Regardless, that's one of the reasons we're unlikely to see a college-age team, for example.

One that P5 seems pretty invested in examining.

Hell, the resident navigator is outright a Hikkikomori. Everyone in the game seems troubled but that's one of the most visible ways Japanese society can be seen failing in real life.

Yeah the second year is their last bit of free time before crunch time and possibly Cram School.

You basically see a light version with Akihiko and Mitsuru in p3, mostly Akihiko as Mitsuru is absolutely perfect and doesn't need it because she already got into the college she wanted and already taking classes.

The second year is the optimal time for anime/game series to start and the transfer student MC to join due to all the cliques are already formed and no overhang of entrance exams.

A Second Year Protagonist is also potential appealing in that it means the lead has both under- and upperclassmen.

Second year is also roughly the hardest time to transfer, since it'll leave you somewhat adrift and forced to find whatever other people are willing to talk to you.

Possibly although that usually locks out actually moving on to the third year ever.

Often it's just second years as the entire cast.

I find it weird we don't really know much of anything about Yu's friends, if existent, in his hometown.

The implication is that this isn't the first time Yu's had to move for his parent's jobs, just the first time they've gone out of the country. We don't know about his friends because he probably didn't have any.

Ah, so he never stayed in one place for long. I was just finding it strange that he's such a charming guy and yet the Scoobies are implied to be the first really, really close bonds he's had with peers despite only knowing them for one year.

Well I doubt that Yu ever solved a murder and beat up a god with anyone else.

Yeah, I'd assume some of it is that Yu was planning on coasting on by for yet another ear as usual, but then all that funny business with the Midnight Channel changed everything.
