Your Movie Sucks
I'm planning on going through the wiki and fixing titles such as Ret Con and Dis Continuity that have spaces where they shouldn't be simply because it makes it easier to Wiki Word the term. Despite the fact they are errors and should be corrected as such, I started this topic simply because I did not want a repeat of the Ptitles ordeal.

I fully support this.

Bonus Boss, dood!
I thought Ret Con was short for "Retroactive Continuity" and was actually supposed to have a space there?
These people need the truth. And not the pretty truth. The horrible, terrible, ugly truth that hurts peoples' feelings.

...Bender?
I've always seen it written as "retcon" outside of this wiki.

Maybe with camel caps, but always as one word. Retcon or Ret Con, (or y'know, retcon if it's not the first word in a sentence.)

Go ahead. This seems to be a relic from the very, very, very early dark days of the wiki, before we even had curly brackets.

Also, Sit Com and Bio Pic.

I have to confess, though, I'm not sure exactly how to do it.

I think you'd have to cutlist the page, then re-create it.

EDIT: It probably goes without saying, but save the source for the page first. :P

No, just make the needed wiki word like has already been done for Retcon- copy the source and paste it into the new page and then turn the old page into a redirect.

Not sure what that would do. For example Ret Con still goes to the same page. As does Retc On and retcon.

I think the issue here is the page title and header say "Ret Con" instead of "Retcon", regardless of how you get there, which is annoying because it's not the common usage. It's how the page was launched that determines how it appears.

I gather that this is rather like the purpose behind Ptitles: it's really no different in how it works, but it looks better as the page header.

Yet the page header has the capitalisation of the link a la Discontinuity or Retcon

Unfortunately, it still shows up as broken on the search.

Searching for <retcon> turns up <Ret Con>.

I'll have to fix them in the database to fix the search results. Let's build a list at Search Word Fixes, so they are all in one place.

I forgot to mention earlier, I started the page. Feel free to add anything else that needs to be fixed that way.

Cool. I'll let the list build out a little more, then run a thing to do the thing.

Take it easy
I've just added a few. I remember a few more, but I'm unable to find them right now.

Still, how should we deal with Min Maxing? I've seen it written more often as either min-maxing or minmaxing, and the page from this wiki goes back and forth between the three spelling. Not sure whether it's important enough to warrant a rename and a standardisation of the spelling on the page itself, but it's relevant enough to this discussion that I'd thought I could bring this up.

Added Mis Blamed, Post Modernism, and The Anti Christ.

How should Anti Anti Christ be formatted.

What about Arch Enemy?

avatar: SomeSortOfTroper

I think that might be valid as two words if not primarily two words. I would think them separate myself (probably with a hyphen) and since I'm too lazy to get my dictionary, the google search says "Did you mean arch enemy" when I type archenemy.

Huh. I've never seen it written "arch-enemy" before.

Excuse me while I find a better dictionary.
