You are the student. You are studying with an aspiration to become one of the town roles in the future.

You are a vanilla role without special properties. As with all roles, you may normally speak and vote during the day, but not at night.

You are the shepherd. You are careful to protect your herd from any threats from outside. You also see your fellow townspeople this way. You trust them enough that you would not think someone would strike you from behind you.

You are a guard role with the following properties:

  • Each night, the shepherd may select a player to protect. PM the selection to the host. That night, the selected player will normally be immune to attacks by the villain or the mercenary.
  • The shepherd can self-protect.
  • If the player selected happens to be a villain, the attack towards the villain's original target will be cancelled and you will be attacked instead.

You are the mage. You have the power of inner sight, allowing you to see the hidden identity of another person. Your power radiates so much that it would remain a short time even after death.

You are a seer role with the following properties:

  • Each night, the mage may select a player to examine. PM the selection to the host. The role of the selected player will be revealed to you, via a PM reply from the host.
  • If the mage dies, the following night, the villains may use the mage's power in additional to their normal abilities. The power is for that night only.

You are the angel. You shield yourself in an aura during the nights, when you feel you would be more vulnerable. Because of your special celestial nature, bad things might happen if you were to die.

You are a minor special role with the following properties:

  • You are immune to attacks by the villain or the mercenary during nights.
  • If you are lynched during a day, that following night, the town group roles cannot use their night actions. Passive properties (such as the angel's) are still active that night. The villains may still act that night.

You are the soldier. With your stout attitude, you like to patrol around the town during the nights. Your eyesight is not perfect, though; all but the more obvious movements might slip undetected behind you.

You are a guard role with the following properties:

  • Each night, the soldier may select a player to protect and lock up. PM the selection to the host. That night, the selected player will normally be immune to attacks by the villain or the mercenary.
  • In addition, any night action performed by the selected player will be cancelled that night.
  • The soldier cannot self-protect.
  • The selected player can still be targeted by night actions from other players (other than attacks). The soldier cancels night action by the selected player, not towards.

You are the priest. You are training to be a greater, more prestigious priest. Right now though, you do not have a firm control over your power to shield a person from harm. The person might end up incapacitated for a while when the power dissipates shortly afterwards.

You are a guard role with the following properties:

  • Each night, the priest may select a player to protect. PM the selection to the host. That night, the selected player will normally be immune to attacks by the villain or the mercenary.
  • The priest cannot self-protect.
  • There is a chance that, in addition, the protected player is unable to speak or vote during the following day. This effect occurs at random instances of using the priest's night action; it is not under the priest's control.

You are the librarian. You live inside a vast library, with books written about the town. There are so many that you have trouble keeping track as you lend them.

You are a seer role with the following properties:

  • Each night, the librarian may select a player to examine. PM the selection to the host. The role of the selected player will be revealed to one of the players, via a PM from the host.
  • The player receiving the host's PM can be anyone alive during the night; this includes villains and the librarian (yourself). The recipient is chosen randomly; it is not under the librarian's control.
  • The host sends the PM after the following day begins (so after that night ends). It is possible for the recepient to have been killed by the time the day begins.

You are the housekeeper. In your house, you have furnished a nice appealing guest room for persons of various parties to enjoy. Your house also has a tightly secured gate that blocks other people from getting even close, but there are rumors that some know how to go around it. You would put your life on the line for your guest if it came to that.

You are a guard role with the following properties:

  • Each night, the housekeeper may select a player to invite. PM the selection to the host. That night, the selected player will normally be immune to attacks by the villain or the mercenary, and to all other night actions toward the selected player.
  • All night actions towards the housekeeper will also target the invited player, other than attacks and copying, which will only target the housekeeper.
  • The housekeeper cannot self-invite.
  • The housekeeper cannot be protected during the night by guard roles (shepherd, soldier, priest, housekeeper). However, if the soldier cancels an attack by targeting the attacker to lock up, this cancelling will apply to the housekeeper.
  • Inviting a villain will not automatically have the housekeeper die.

You are the researcher. In a hidden facility, you do a lot of behind-the-scenes research. It is easy for you to track down the movements of the townspeople. Some with sharp perception may know how to find where you live, though.

You are a major special role with the following properties:

  • Each night, the researcher may select a player to track. PM the selection to the host. If the selected player has targeted another player (or self) with a night action, the target will be revealed to you, via a reply from the host.
  • The exact nature of the night action is not revealed to the researcher. Only the target(s) of the night action is revealed. This does not reveal players that performed night actions towards the selected player.
  • The host sends the reply after the following day begins (so after that night ends).
  • The researcher cannot be protected during the night by guard roles (shepherd, soldier, priest, housekeeper). However, if the soldier cancels an attack by targeting the attacker to lock up, this cancelling will apply to the researcher.

You are the salesperson. As a merchant, you know how to get your point across and convince others. But your rhetoric and complicated motivations might give the wrong impression to other people looking at you.

You are a minor special role with the following properties:

  • During the day, if a vote is tied for plurality, and the salesperson voted for one of the pluralities, then the salesperson's vote counts as two votes. Therefore, normally that vote will prevail.
  • If a seer role (mage or librarian) targets you with a night action, your role will be revealed as villain instead of salesperson.

You are the craftsperson. You are well-known for making crazy inventions as a hobby. Recently you have also gained interest in the occupations of other townspeople.

You are a major special role with the following properties:

  • Once per game, during a night, the craftsperson may select a player to copy. PM the selection to the host. The role of the selected player will be copied onto you and revealed to you, via a PM reply from the host.
  • Once the copying is successful, you will permanently assume the copied role's properties, but retain the title of craftsperson. If the craftsperson dies, the copied role will not be revealed to the players.
  • If a seer role (mage or librarian) targets you with a night action, your role will still be revealed as a craftsperson instead of the role you copied.
  • You may use the night action of the copied role starting the following night, not during the same night as the copy. Passive properties of the role will be in effect starting the same night as the copy.
  • If the player selected happens to be a student or a villain, the copying (and revealing) will be cancelled, and you will retain the ability to copy. The copying can be retried another night, not during the same night.

You are the mercenary. Or rather, you used to be. In the past, before you settled in this town, you were hired to go after others for pay. If misfortune happens to you, these memories may awake once more. The town distrusts you a bit because of your looks.

You are a major special role with the following properties:

  • During the day, if the mercenary gets a majority vote minus one (as opposed to a majority vote), the day ends with the mercenary lynched.
  • This effect does not occur unless the majority vote minus one is at least two votes.
  • This effect does not occur for pluralities.
  • If you are dead, once per game, during a night, the mercenary may select a player to attack. PM the selection to the host. Normally the selected player will be killed by the time the following day starts.

You are the villain. You and your allies are secretly trying to take over the town for yourselves, and eliminate those that stand in your way.

You are a mafia role with the following properties:

  • During the nights, the villains may discuss via PM.
  • Each night, the villains may collectively select one player to attack. PM the selection to the host. Normally the selected player for attacking will be killed by the time the following day starts.
  • Only one player can be selected by the villain group per night. If the host gets two or more selections, the last one will be effective.
