Between Capcom vs Marvel and Mortal Kombat vs DC we have two amazing games. Capcom (street fighter) vs Mortal Kombat and Marvel vs DC.
Come, you know it'd be awesome if done well.
Obligatory self promotion: http://unemployedacademic.tumblr.com/While I really do hope Capcom's getting in the crossover spirit once again, especially with Marvel, I can really only believe it when I see it.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.^This news was leaked by the same guy who spoiled the entire Super Street Fighter 4 roster (including the two new characters, mind you, so it wasn't just a lucky guess), so it's probably safe to say that this is legit.
Or maybe I'm trusting this news too much. Who cares, speculation is speculation. Either way, we'll know if he was lying come May.
Got sick of my old avatar. But I still can't resist one last Jiiiii~If it's true, I want Frank west, Elena, Amaterasu, Joe, Radd Spencer (the original, not the dread-locked doofus of the recent next-gen bionic commando) Deadpool, Silver surfer (Can't remember if he was in mvc 2 or not) and Possibly either X or Zero.
For Capcom i hoope they add: Wesker,X,Seth,Vega, Sigma and Dante.
For Marvel, Ghost Rider, The Leader ,Black Panther, Deadpool, Monica/Photon, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
"Silver surfer (Can't remember if he was in mvc 2 or not)"
He wasn't, he should be though.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"And the chances of a Tatsunoko vs Capcom sequel now seems null... I really hope that game gets a sequel. Maybe I should play Marvel vs Capcom... Wait, don't have any systems to support the game.

@Etheru i fail to see why this means no Tvs C sequel.
Anywho, i really hope for Ghost Rider.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Marvel is a fair bit more popular worldwide than Tatsunoko (I'm assuming, but give the relative boost nearly all Marvels main liscences have felt over the past few years, I'd say its a pretty strong guess), and the games do reflect that a bit. That a port of a decade old game outsold the newest one pretty signifigantly indicates they likely will be sticking with the Marvel liscence, and likely trying a few others out.
Ghost Rider is a problem I'd lump in with someone like the guy from Dark Void - how do you put a person known for their means of transport in a (relatively) stationary 2D fighter? Yeah, you could just have him use the chain and his skull head, but at that point you've made Scorpion.

I'm not sure what you mean. Ghost Rider( Both Johnny and Danny) is capable fighter with alot of magical abilities. It wouldn't be hard at all. Read the recent series, that should give you a good idea.
Also, he's been using the chain way before Scorpion( I'm assuming you mean MK's and not Marvel's).
If anything, he'd be easier than say phoenix wright.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"I'm aware he's a capable melee fighter, but having him removed from the vehicle seems to sorta go against the character. His name is itself tied to it, so it seems sorta wrong having him not use it. Its like the Silver Surfer without his board - yeah, he's still damn powerful (I assume, going by my theory that anything that was in that FF movie was wrong), but he also seems to be missing a major part of the character. Though he could drag a person behind it on a highway as a super move I suppose
I know he was around long before Scorpion, but given his abilities and powers, I would say he would end up playing rather similarly to him. You see a guy with a flaming skull for a head using a chain as a weapon in a videogame, how many different ways can they fight?
Actually, bike or no , He's still the spirit of vengeance. His bike is he's mainly known for, but as any Flamehead fan can tell ya, it's not all he's about. Besides, he could use his bike in a super.
But really, there are alot of things they can use for moves. Take it from a GR fan, he's not limited.
I doubt he'd play like Scorpion, this is Capcom, not Midway.
Besides, they have a guy lik Jin who is known for his mecha and Smash has Captain Falcon.....
As for Surfer, they could have him use the board as a shield ala Planet Hulk or just have him summon it like he usually does.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"I'm not talking about his ability so much as his recognisability - like you said, the bike is his signature. But I guess at that point we're treating the series as if it were meant for fan service instead of Rule of Cool.
Also, for the Silver Surfer, if they take away his board, how are they gonna make him look different to Iceman, given he looks like this?

So how would y'all feel if they dumbed down the number of character in the roster?
Pika pi~?Deadpool and Squirrel Girl. And now that the big D owns Marvel, it'd be freaking awesone if they could negotiate Goliath and Darkwing Duck as secret characters.
How do you not see the possibility to use Ghost Riders bike as one of his super moves? Also, I think he would play more like mix between Omega red and Colossus from mvc 2 than scorpion.
@Indigo Dingo
Again, having him without the board wouldn't be hard and their powers would be different anyway.
Besides, alot of the old guys probably wouldn't come back, but if they did use Iceman again, they could just use one of his more icy looks. Iceman has more than one look after all.
@Ronnie: Sadly, they probably can't.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Surfer could just kind of hover on his board, and just not fly...right? Blocking could be that thing he does where he tilts it vertical, and absorbs attacks.
:smug:I wonder if this will come to the Wii, probably will, probably won't, I wonder if they've got any surprises in store for the gamers out there...
Ryu making an appearance would be interesting.
That said, Frank West worked way better than I thought he would in Tv C (though I haven't played Dead Rising an as it's about the only worthwhile 360 true exclusive (as in it isn't also on the PC) not going to do it anytime soon) and wouldn't mind seeing him back.
If we're building the roster (because Capcom surely must read this board) (and it's fun to do) who would you include?
Being a comic fan I'll start with Marvel:
Additions:
- Deadpool
- Squirlegirl (actually haven't read her yet but I'll trust you guys)
- She-Hulk
- Thor
Subtractions:
- War-Machine (too simliar to Iron man)
- Sentinal (Over sized robot never seemed to fit in the game for me)
- Black Heart (I think that's the name)
- We only need one Wolverine
Now if we can grow the roster too I'd love to see:
- Luke Cage
- Iron Fist
- Ghost Rider
I think instead of color swaps they could do alternate costumes especially for Marvel. Like if you pick spidey then I do I get the Scarlet Spider costume.
Personally I think they could keep the game 2d with really well done sprites and make it still look awesome.
Obligatory self promotion: http://unemployedacademic.tumblr.com/I'm still holding out for a Tatsunoko vs Capcom sequel, Capcom is bound to try again.
Team Spooky is once again creating a stir by claiming Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is under development.
Looks like Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is a definite now.
