Just post whatever comes to mind.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

Don't taunt me with your fibre broadband. ;~~~;
So close. So close. And yet... twenty metres.
I get 7
Oh really when?Seven?
What backwards village do you live in?
I am currently at 411.96 GB.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."But don't you have usage caps? I'm sure Devil Communications Inc Comcast started rolling them out.
Are you telling me that there are places in America without bad internet?
I know there are places with internet worse than mine.
I've got the best internet out of all my friends.
Oh really when?I have no usage cap that I'm aware of. If I do, it's probably 1000 GB like yours.
You can get a limited usage plan if you can't afford the unlimited, though.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."@ Garcon. But... seven? My cousin lives in the third world and gets ten!
@ Mukodad. Oh, I see. I don't think I've seen a metered broadband plan in the wild here. Everything is unlimited. My broadband is literally two cups of coffee per month (plus line rental payment to the Telecom which runs to be about seven cups of coffee per month...).
And here I am, paying much more for a line I get my own IP range on.
"Did you expect somebody else?"I figured I could get my dad to fork out another cup of coffee per month for a gold-plated connection, but I don't see how that would improve on "download speeds so fast they break the theoretical maximum".
Maybe I should phone them up and complain about my upload speeds.
Well, my chair's goin' threadbare... It's definitely time for a new chair.
"If you have any beefs with Santa, do remember to SETTLE IT IN SMASH!" Quote by EdveedIf Germany is Sonic 06, then what is Venice?
I'm so sorry that my avatar doesn't appear fully in the shot, but the cat was threatening the photographer.I'm in one of the first areas that got Verizon FiOS. Ain't no metered connection that I'm on.
I w-wan... want the fibre... ;~~~;
My dad said that he would be willing to pay a few more cups of coffee a month if it meant we could get fibre.
We don't have a usage cap in our house. We just have a plan that maxes at only about 120 Mbps during off-peak hours. Fast enough for streaming, barely.
My phone plan has a cap of 4GB before they start charging me something like $10/MB, but I never stream video on it, so I might get up to half of that if I've listened to a lot of Pandora on the road.

Fresh-eyed movie blogWhich set is the longer infinity?
All whole numbers (0, 1, 2, . . .) or all positive numbers period (0, 0.0...01, 0.0...02 . . .)?
I mean, at first glance, it seems like the second set obviously has more numbers, because it has more numbers between 0 and 1 than the first set has between 0 and Googolplex. But at the same time, the first set can just keep going and catch up before the second set even gets to 1...
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerThe second. Infinite set of positive reals is bigger than the infinite set of wholes.
i just want to sell out my funeralDaisy has it right - there's no theoretical limit to how many numbers can occur after a decimal point, which causes a huge amount of headache for those who use mathematics in any professional capacity unless it's involving money or there's some way to limit how many digits after the point it goes, and it gets maddening if you want to study numbers and have to deal with mathematics in an academic setting.
"Did you expect somebody else?"Hahaha... ha... what? I don't understand. Is it wrong for me to tell women that they're wrong?
If Hibiscus tells me that 2 + 2 = 3, do I have to concur with her? I didn't know women were this easily frightened.
But wouldn't they have the same amount? They're both infinite.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Now, the critical question to be answered here: Is "2 + 2 = 3" an opinion?
Because evidently, it is those that we mustn't contradict.

A different shape every step I take A different mind every step of the line@Mukora: Go watch the video I linked on the previous page.
i just want to sell out my funeralActually, no, I don't get scared, I just listen as to why it's wrong and make my point heard.
If somebody disagrees with me, they have every right to, and can do so if they have a reasonable objection.
People who post that nonsense are often too afraid to back their own opinion up.
