Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

All Anime Is Naughty Tentacles: Please add a film folder containing:

  • Unbreakable: Or rather, All Manga Is Hentai. In the comicbook store scene where a despondent Elijah causes a rucus with his wheelchair, one of the clerk's first lines when he notices that Elijah has been hiding in the back for a while is "You better not be jacking off to the Japanese comics, I swear to God".

[up][up][up] Ah, the humor issue was why I tried to not edit Fast Eddie's portion too much, but the chained potholes is a good point that was brought up in the other thread. Also, I didn't notice before but that is a sinkhole to Logic Bomb (given the TRS thread). To get rid of the chain and the misuse (without adding anything), could it at least be changed to:

Life ruiner and life enhancer — simultaneously.

Personally, I don't think two laconics on a single Laconic/ page is overlong, but that seems to be the general consensus so I admit that's an uphill climb. I'd think, though, that this page would be a special case since it happens to be attached to one of the site's founders (if not the founder; I can't recall). I'd think that, normally for Laconic/ pages, the priority would be tropes, then works, then tropers, so it just makes sense to include the work on that page. If this particular issue is better to discuss on the laconic clean-up thread (or a thread over on wiki talk), I'll drop it here, just let me know please. I ended up writing more than I expected, honestly.

@16828: Desinkholed.

@16827: The offending troper is suspended, so I don't think that is needed.

@16826: Is there a reason to keep All Anime Is Naughty Tentacles locked? It's not a porno trope.

@16823: 16793 is done, same for 16795, page lock can wait, why does the Assassins' Creed Forsaken entry go to more than one page? Not sure if the Antediluvian entries are in the correct order. Buffy do you mean replacing the page content wholesale? All done otherwise.

And to put credit where credit is due, it seems like we are shortening the Complete Monster examples lately.

Alright: Please also make that Ra Moon change at Mega Man.

As for why the Creed entries are at 2 pages: If a Franchise includes a work that's not from the primary medium, it goes to that medium's page as well as the franchise page. For example, AC is primarily video games, so it wouldn't make sense to include it under Lit for works with their own pages.

If you mean the World of Darkness stuff, I'm not too sure, as I don't know the work, If you do, I'll let you choose which order the three should go.

As for Buffy, please replace this:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • Caleb from season 7's last five episodes is a defrocked priest turned Serial Killer of young women, who uses the trust that people have in him to get closer to his victims, before torturing and killing them. In his first appearance, he guts one of the Potential Slayers and leaves her at the side of the road, as a message for Buffy. He then kills another one of the girls during a battle, mangles the arm of another, and puts out Xander's eye, cracking bad jokes the entire time. He also coordinates the actions of the Bringers, organizing the bombing of the Watcher Council's headquarters (resulting in most of their deaths), arranging the assaults on numerous Potentials, and trying to have Faith killed while she was in prison. A misogynistic sadist, who believes that all women are whores and deserve what he does to them, Caleb is The First Evil's right-hand man, and lives for the oncoming apocalypse, seeing the end of the world as a way to dispose of all those who do not share his mad religious convictions. He also gets a real kick out reenacting his murders with the shape shifting First. Perhaps the most frightening thing about Caleb, however, is that he is human, with nary a Freudian Excuse in sight.
  • Simone Doffler, the Big Bad of the season 9 comic, initially started out as a rebellious Slayer who didn't see the value of the lives of others and believes that Slayers are superior to normal people, and therefore should rule over them. In an attempt to soften her she was put under the watch of Andrew Wells, hoping to soften her; instead she goes rogue and steals a demon to use as a weapon and asks Buffy to turn over Andrew, who she wants to kill since he annoyed her. She also led a small but growing army of rogue slayers who set up base on a small island, where Simone beat up an old woman who gave them food and shelter. Simone's gang would later commit acts of terrorism, including raiding a military base and killing their general, relishing in the fearsome reputation it gave the slayers. Later Simone learned of the zompires, and plotted to find a way to become one and keep her mind intact, for the sole sake of killing Buffy, with which she has become obsessed. To experiment, she feeds her own followers to them. When she learns Buffy's sister Dawn is dying, she manipulates their friend Xander with a chance to save her by finding the deeper well. Her true intention was to awaken the Old One, Maloker, so that he would sire her into a vampire.

  • White House Press Secretary Joanna Wise, the Big Bad of season 11, is a seemingly unassuming, primary orchestrator of the Supernatural Crisis Act, and the hidden mastermind behind the Pandora Project. Enhancing herself with cybernetics and magic, Wise summoned a Chinese storm dragon, setting it loose on San Francisco along with a giant tsunami, levelling half the city and killing thousands of people. The backlash of this results in nationwide spread of tensions and hate crimes against any magical beings and even people practicing Wicca. The government cracks down on any use of magic and eventually has them all forcibly detained in a giant interment camp called the "Safe Zone", where when asked about possible human rights violations, Wise responds by asking if they even count as human. Many detainees are put to work in creating a magic draining device, with the plan being to drain magic from anyone who has it, even though many species require magic to function and even survive. Following a breakout of the Safe Zone, Wise has a town wiped out in order to frame an army of escaped vampires to entice more tensions between both sides, killing 2,000 thousand more people. When Buffy, Spike, Willow and Faith investigate the Pandora Project, they discover they are conducting experiments on animals and even people to make a brainwashed army, by there are plans to launch satellite devices to drain magic en masse across the world. Wise reveals herself to be the orchestrator of these events, revealing her deranged megalomania and her ultimate goal is the be the ruler of a world without magic as the only one with access to it. During her fight with Buffy, she sets loose the dragon on San Francisco once again to distract Willow, before deciding to drain the dragon's magic for her own, asking why it should have all the fun.

Was anything wrong with my request in 16777 to change ''The Sleeping Beauty in the Wood" on the Monster.Literature M To Z page to " Literature/SleepingBeauty " so that it can correctly wick to the work's page? After all, that work has a work page on TvTropes so why not wick to it.

I'd like to add some changes to to Pokémon:

Replace Generation VII: Sun and Moon with Generation VII: Sun and Moon and Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Also please add this under the Sun and Moon section:

  • Totem Araquanid in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. If you think you could breeze through this Water Trial with a Grass-Type as you could with Totem Wishiwashi in Sun and Moon, you're in for an extremely rude awakening. Araquanid and its ally Pokemon are all part Bug-Type as well. Araquanid has Leech Life (which has been buffed to 80 base power in Gen VII) and Aurora Beam (if you think Rowlet/Dartrix's Flying type will save you). Totem Araquanid is naturally bulky, its ability, Water Bubble, doubles its water attacks, making moves like Bubble do a lot more damage then normal and its Totem aura buffs its speed. Making it a nasty Lightning Bruiser. It's also able to call in Masquerain, a Bug/Flying type with access to Stun Spore (to paralyze) and Tail Wind (to increase both it and Araquanid's speed even further).

@16846: These comic book examples sometimes lacked namespaced links or had incoherent namespaces (Film); all done however.

@16843: Punting to thread.

@16842: Are you sure that that needs a space? Done though.

@16840: Done.

For Buffy, the heading looks good now, though there are 2 stray apostrophes after the parenthesis.

Also, for Comic Books, these two entries need to be added (the first was already there but got deleted; the second was overlooked):

  • Realm of the Damned: Tenebris Deos ("Dark Gods"), by Alec Worley & Pye Parr: Balaur Petrova, otherwise known as The Dragon for his unique ability to breathe fire, was the most bloodthirsty vampire who ever lived. Sired somewhere in the Carpathians in the 15th century, Balaur was renowned for his constant warfare and orgies of murder across Europe, nothing giving him more joy than the weight of his sword, blood flowing through his hands, and women screaming as he burned their children before them. Whenever he got bored from the lulls between fighting, he massacred his allies instead. His vampire brethren eventually turned on him for his slaying of other vampires by sending his sister Athena to destroy him. A part of Balaur survived, however, and was used to revive him by a group of cultists centuries later, most of whom he immediately slaughters before making the last one his slave. Desiring revenge on his sister and determining that the world must burn, he proceeds to track down all the other alpha monsters to take from them their powers by ripping out their hearts and eating them. After gathering all of them, he initiates the apocalypse by turning huge numbers of humans and vampires alike into mindless werewolves so they will slaughter everyone around them. Finally confronting Athena, he promises to rip off her skin so he can clothe himself in it, even letting her use her Healing Factor so he can kill her as many times as possible.
  • Reborn: Lord Golgotha is the evil, despotic ruler of the Dark Lands, and a steadfast opponent to the pure denizens of Adystria and all that is good. Having his forces scourge Adystria to kidnap their denizens, Golgotha horribly bleeds them out by the thousands to power a machine through which he intends to launch an attack on Earth to engage in a campaign of wholesale slaughter with his army of the worst of humanity reincarnated, reveling in the potential horrors that he and his forces will inflict on the world. When the chosen one Bonnie Black comes to fight him, Golgotha has her ex-husband kidnapped and his village decimated, and reveals that he was the sniper who murdered him and 27 others originally for fun, his only regret from his old life being that he didn't kill enough people.

At Literature A To F, Tarquin should be before Ulcis.
