Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

At Video Games, for the second Resident Evil entry, it should be "Alexia" instead of "Alexis." Thanks.

  • At Vase de Noces, please put somewhere the following:
literally "wedding vase", known in English as "wedding trough"
  • Also at Film P To Z, for the Serbian Film entry, that should be sexually sadistic, not sexual sadistic.

Please add Raynare's write-up to Anime And Manga A To H. It was approved last year but never added to the page.

Did the "sexual" fix, the other two edit requests are incomplete - the first has no context to justify adding, the second lacks proper namespacing.

Actually, could you add those other examples(The Castle of Cagliostro and Lupin III Mystery Of The Hemingway Papers) as well under a general Anime.Lupin III header? It seems they were also skipped over.

Finally: the namespace for the Raynare examples should be Light Novel/ .

[up][up]Maybe after the title, like this?:
Vase de Noces (literally "wedding vase", known in English as "wedding trough")...

Looks like no for Raynare as of now, but this tree replaces the current entry of Count Almeida at Anime And Manga I To R:
  • Lupin III:
    • The Castle of Cagliostro: Count Lazare d'Cagliostro leads a Religion of Evil cult which wants the secret treasure beneath the Castle's lake. To do this he intends to marry the underage heiress of the Castle, Princess Clarrise. He also has a penchant for locking people in the Castle's dungeons to let them starve to death, which Lupin and Zenigata discovered by seeing the bodies, giving him a death count in the dozens. Ultimately he is a liar who guns down Lupin and Clarrise after promising to her that he'd let Lupin live, purposely missing them to show the power he had over her.
    • Mystery of the Hemingway Papers: Mash is a sadist who works for the rebel forces on Colcaca Island in the Mediterranean Sea. He routinely leads his men to Rape, Pillage, and Burn innocent people all along the countryside. He is also a former comrade of Jigen's, and he betrayed Jigen and his entire group, gunned them all down and left Jigen for dead. Ultimately a Dirty Coward, he is unable to fight the superior Jigen one-on-one and wants to corner him in traps or when he's in a group.
    • The Woman Called Fujiko Mine: Count Luis Yu Almeida stands out from the dark cast, which consists of thieves, murderers, seductresses, assassins, and gang bosses as the protagonists. The mastermind behind horrible human experimentation and the owner of Glaucus Pharmaceuticals, Count Almeida and his scientists conducted Cold War experiments, including mind control, hypnosis, memory and personality manipulation, sensory deprivation, physical abuse, and rape. During the course of these experiments, Almeida convinced two scientists, Dr. Fritz Kaiser and his wife, to include their young daughter in the experimental trials, before murdering Dr. Kaiser. Almeida adds the memories of the tortures he puts his other experimental subjects through to her memories. Thirteen years later, we see how insane this woman has gone from everything the Count has done to her. Glaucus Pharmaceuticals is now kidnapping children and adults, disguising human experimentation as cult fanatics, and keeping surveillance almost everywhere. Based on all the evidence Lupin compiles on Almeida's guilt, the Count's only desire was to create the perfect slave. The revelation that Luis is already dead by the time the series takes place only drives in the injustice of all he has done.

Film A To E: Please change the Death Wish entry to the following:

  • Death Wish 3: Manny Fraker trumps all other villains from this series in psychotic evil. Introduced in prison when he informs the hero Paul Kersey he's going to "kill a little old lady, just for you later," Fraker is soon out of prison and on to ruling the streets with an iron fist. Anyone who so much as looks at his gang wrong ends up dead, and he orders several horrible murders, and one event has a woman brutally raped, later dying from her injuries. Fraker kills Kersey's Love Interest by pushing her into traffic before blowing her up as well.

DTH save for the Vase de Noces thing because I have doubts that it's factually accurate. Plus, not here and in this place. Also, moving discussion pages without a link to the discussion to be moved is a bad request; added some linking.

"not here and in this place"? It is translated as "Wedding Trough" and literally means "Wedding Vase."

Thanks for the moves, Septimus. You are right, I should have included links, I'll do so now.

More discussion pages that ought to be moved; those were part of the effort to remove hyphenated article titles:

Also, please modify the page type for Anime.Cute High Earth Defense Club Love from redirect to work.

The F.A.T.A.L. page contains links to the classic review and rebuttal, but I think it would be a good idea to also include a link to the TV Tropes liveblog of the game: A liveblog made by tropers for tropers, on the same site.

Übermensch contains a typo in the Anime and Manga folder, the Kill la Kill entry: The name "Satsuki" is misspelled as "Stasuki".

At Live-Action TV, please replace the LX-3 entry with this:

At, Video Games And Visual Novels please replace Alhazad's current entry with this:
  • Wild ARMs: Alhazad is a Mad Scientist who had several inhabitants of a town abducted so he could test his parasite that horrifically mutates any living thing into a mindless monster, then sends the mutated citizens back to their town to slaughter everyone except a young, blind girl (who was protected by Zed). He then threatened to unleash this parasite, which he calls the "Demon Seed", on a village almost entirely inhabited by orphaned children unless the party hands over a MacGuffin. He also manages to infect both a young Wanderer and a puppy with the Demon Seed, forcing the party to kill them both. Finally, it turns out that he's the one who turned Lady Harkan into a Demon. Not because he was ordered to, but because he had a fondness for her. Even the omnicidal Mother was less vile then Alhazad in that at least she did what she did because she believed it was her destined role. Alhazad simply enjoyed experimenting on people as "toys". He collaborates in resurrecting Mother and is an active supporter of her plan to destroy the human race.

Film P To Z: Please change the The Prophecy entry to the following:

  • The Prophecy 3: The Ascent: Pyriel, the Whited Sepulcher, is an Omnicidal Maniac of an angel, having assumed the mantle of the "Angel Of Genocide." While his former leader Gabriel simply balked at having humanity placed above angels and genuinely loved their Father, Pyriel fancies himself and has his followers call him the new God and that his mission is to help the "monkeys" perish, adding "Genocide...it happens now and then." His mercilessness extends to his own angel brethren as he has his fallen brothers captured and tormented in horrible agony. When confronted by the hero, the Nephalim Danyael, Pyriel attempts to kill him by sadistically crushing his skull and shoving his thumbs through his eyes, grinning the entire time.

Euroshlock: Please change "Gaspar Noe" from an outbound link to Gaspar Noé.

DC And Vertigo: Please add a link in the "Elseworlds" header to "Elseworlds".

Please add the following to the Professional Wrestling section of Moral Guardians.

  • When TBS standards and practices ordered Vince Russo to cut down on the violence in WCW, he responded by repackaging the former West Hollywood Blondes (Lodi and Lenny Lane) as a Right To Censor ripoff called Standards & Practices as a Take That! against TBS. The twist was that S&P secretly loved the sex and violence they supposedly opposed, and that's why their valet Ms. Hancock (Stacy Keibler) would do sexy dances on the commentary desk while Lodi and Lenny "censored" the ring. This lasted about a month, with Ms. Hancock becoming the Smurfette Breakout and Lodi and Lenny getting taken off TV and getting repackaged yet again.

Euroshlock: Please change the second paragraph to the following:

Gaspar Noé, Lars von Trier, Michael Haneke, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and Catherine Breillat are names associated with these films. France and Italy are also associated with the genre. Early example of this trope can be found in the 70s with Pier's Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom, Thierry Zeno's Vase de Noces, Dusan Makavejev's Sweet Movie and Bernardo Bertolucci's Last Tango in Paris. It has seen a resurgence in the 2000s.

On the same page, please change "Anything by Gaspar Noe" to "Anything by Gaspar Noé".
