They're both about six months old.
But, yeah, the consensus is that it's a terrible name?

...yeah, this name is terrible. It's a lame pun that doesn't describe the trope at all, and is also shared by a work. I don't have any clever ideas, but honestly, even Male To Female Crossdresser would be better than this - at least it's clear.

I bet it involves cross-dressing in some way.
Hey, what do you know...
Though, granted, I never would've gotten the bit about a different male character falling in love though. And surely, not everyone is familiar with the sitcom Trope Namer.
There's a general plan for restructuring the various crossdressing tropes in a number of ways, but not much has happened to get it put into action.
(The whole area is kind of a mess, with overlapping tropes, some tropes that are treated as anime-only for no particular reason, etc. Bosom Buddies is definitely part of the problem, though.)
Jet-a-Reeno!Would it be possible to get a crowner on this, please?
Alt Title Crowner:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/crowner.php/AlternativeTitles/BosomBuddies
I'll also put up a Page Action Crowner:
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/crowner.php/PageAction/BosomBuddies
Will no-one rid me of this hideous trope name?
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdOut of the proposed alternate titles, I like Six Inch Surprise or Six Inch Secret best. What Do You Mean He's A Man? is too unwieldy, and Convincing Transvestite doesn't get across that it's supposed to be specifically about Male-to-Female crossdressing.
Not liking any of the proposed names; they all imply that the guy looks convincing / is cute as a woman.
The trope description, conversely, implies that
1. This is a "crossdressing as disguise" trope, possibly the Spear Counterpart of Sweet Polly Oliver, and
2. quote: "This tends to be a Paper Thin Disguise, since he tends to look like an Amazon at best and an overdone Drag Queen at worst, and yet everyone is fooled."
I threw in a few more generic choices.

Calling someone a pedant is an automatic Insult Backfire. Real pedants will be flattered.Another rename that seems to have fallen though the cracks.
Maybe simple, straightforward, but boring is the way to go: Disguised As A Woman?
(It is a male-only trope, btw - the female equivalent is Sweet Polly Oliver.)
Jet-a-Reeno!We need a better name.
Bosom Buddies is supposed to be about when non-crossdressing men decide to go under cover as women for some reason- usually Hilarity Ensues.
The page action crowner is hosed; it only has one option. Added a rename option, but that's really not how it's supposed to be used.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm mostly thinking about this wrt a general reorg of "crossdressing" tropes as outlined in this thread. Possibly with some minor rejiggering of current definitions too.
Jet-a-Reeno!I thought long and hard about a catchier name for this horribly misnamed trope, and came up with Petticoat Ploy.
Isn't this named after a work? That work where one of the actors looks like a magic rock in an episode of the Honey I Shrunk The Kids tv show?
^Yes, it's named for The '80s TV sitcom starring Tom Hanks and the lead from the Honey I Shrunk The Kids TV show.
Still needs a new name.
Can a mod please switch out the page action crowner with the alternative titles one?
Bumping in hope of some more votes.

Searching for plausible mechanisms.Did the rename to Disguised in Drag. On a side note, some troper not only thought the Monty Python "Lumberjack Song" was an example, but even replaced the page quote with it. Sorry, wrong trope.
That's the curse of this trope family - any example that applies to any ONE trope in the family winds up being placed in ALL of them, whether it fits or not.
Hopefully as we bring some semblance of order to the tropes themselves, the examples won't spill over quite so much.
Jet-a-Reeno!This was resolved last year. It's August in a couple of days. Requesting a lock.
Keeper of The Celestial Flame
Crown Description:
DOODOO! Trope guessing power!
Bosom Buddies
Pun is poor and pretty irrelevant, whilst taking up a common term to refer to close friends. I'd check wicks if anyone would explain how.
