When I get to Heavy in my TF2 mastery plot, I'll get a strange Shotgun instead of a strange primary, and master SHOTGUN HEAVY.
"i'm like the pimpmaster hustledaddy of all snippy bookshrews" -Dave StriderI think spy is a bit of a Difficult, but Awesome, and Sniper definitely is. all classes have levels of play that require certain skills, but those two stick out the most to me. it's really, really easy to be utter garbage as either.

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"I am quite a decent Sniper, and I'm steadily improving as Spy.
Another green world.I actually took to spy a lot faster than I was expecting.
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"@ your statement about playing heavy: I find myself playing as one fairly often as of late, but mostly out of the fact that I'm still unrusting myself. (Also an off-topic, but like the avvy.)
One thing I just can not overcome is a spy who loves to cloak! Unless I see the little sillouette, I am not going to find the spy and will get murdered. I detest fighting against spies!
"If you have any beefs with Santa, do remember to SETTLE IT IN SMASH!" Quote by Edveeduntil the spy lags out, misses his stab, and you murderlize them -_-
fucking hate it when that happens.
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Spy probably has the highest skill gate to be decent, and of course probably an even higher one than most other classes to be expert.
Sniper I found was actually really really easy to be decent as. Even as an inexperienced player I can rack up kills very quickly and keep a point locked down.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I just can't aim well enough to be a sniper.
goddamnit, why do you need to validate every fucking day, TF 2. and right now, I can't even play because the steam servers are apparently busy, so it won't validate.

"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"I can finally trade again. A friend gave me the Loose Cannon, and oh goodness it is awesome.
Who was the guy who wanted my Madame Dixie?
Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me.I was, but I can't do it until either tomorrow or Thursday, because my computer needs a new motherboard (whatever that is).
Another green world.Oh alright, I can wait.
Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me....Getting a new motherboard is little different from getting a new computer (except maybe keeping the replaceable parts)
People who taunt after every kill bug me.
Though I like them, because it gives me a free target. It's my favorite when a sniper chops me as spy, then stops to taunt. And then I dead ringer and stab them in the middle of their taunt.
Oh cruel fate for him.
I think my best class so far is Demoknight and Engie.
Pyro comes in third
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXkI1sTDoEgHeavy, the most important part is positioning. Except in pubs where positioning doesn't matter so yeah, relatively easy to play. And average players can do really well as heavy so that's why they're so loved in pubs.
Scout probably has highest skill ceiling. Or Demo actually.

Yes, just because Spy is Difficult, but Awesome, that doesn't the best Spies are better than every other class. Disguises are utterly worthless against a team that actually work together, whereas Demoman can kill anything before they can even see him.
Hell, Soldier probably has a higher ceiling than Spy because of how valuable some of the weirder rocket jumps are.

The problem with Spy is that once you know how to play him, his effectiveness is a lot more dependent on the incompetence of your enemies than on your own competence.
I make video games! Or plan to, anyway.Anyone else crashing a lot? I keep crashing a lot.
Dost Thou Desire the Power ... Glove? It's so bad.^ Which type of crashing?
^^ Technically that should apply to every class...then again the Spy get hit by that harder than others...

Give me cute or give me...something?Most of my Spy runs that fail tend to fail on the basis of, "Well, shit, it looks like my opponents have their heads out of their asses and know what they're doing. Guess I'm fucked."
月を見るたび思い出せmany of mine tend to end up being "MOTHERFUCKING PSYCHIC PYROS"
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"Or luck Pyros.
"oh herp de derpa derp just gonna puff some fire randomly in the middle of a hall RIGHT WHERE A SPY IS WALKING IMAGINE THAT"
月を見るたび思い出せI tend to get the ones where I'm sitting with a C+D in a corner of a building no one else uses, a pyro trundles in, heads STRAIGHT TO MY CORNER. Roasts me alive, and then leaves.
"Coffee! Coffeecoffeecoffee! Coffee! Not as strong as Meth-amphetamine, but it lets you keep your teeth!"To be fair, it is a good idea to check corners if you're a Pyro. The Cloak and Dagger seems to be fairly common among spies.
The thing about the spy is that you have to have a lot of meta-game knowledge to be good. Hiding spots and ammo packs are essential, and you have to know where they are.
And Lance, I share your pain with the 'validating every time' thing. It's terrible.

"Steel wins battles. Gold wins wars."
I wouldn't say he has so much of a low skill ceiling as he does have a high skill floor. It's easier to be "decent" as Heavy then any other class, but it's still difficult to be "good" as Heavy. I was being credit to team my very first game of TF 2, as Heavy, yet I wouldn't say I'm a Heavy pro.
Kind of like a Skill Gate Character, just without becoming irrelevant at higher level of play.
