That's the thing, isn't it? Now Mashiro is gonna have to bring in that female lead in a convincing and well-done manner unless he can't do so for whatever reason.

It was a bit surprising because I was ready to see another troll move in the story, but not this time. But now there's a new stage in this battle and that's gonna be the anime adaptations. Zombie Gun will follow Reversi eventually.

IIRC, a female lead was mentioned at some point when discussing Reversi... They probably already have one for all we know.

I think it's time to check in with our metatextual counterparts from the Bakuman universe...

<<Wow, so the Crow anime is finally ending. I'm a little sad, but given how freaking awesome the final volumes of the manga were, it's going to be a really satisfying conclusion. And besides, there's still The Movie side stories, those will probably go another year or two like the Dragonball ones did. (The rumor about a second crossover with the Natural + characters sounds intriguing.)

Can't say it's too much of a shock; If Reversi keeps up the pace in the manga like it has been, it will make a nice limited-run series so that when Zombie*Gun does start its anime, it will have that extra six months to a year to build story so less filler will be needed.

I just finished reading the latest manga chapter... Damn! I love this manga!

Volume 9 of the North American translation is out. We briefly meet Kaya's parents, and learn more about Mashiro's father than at any other point...though we still don't see him.

There's also the suggestion that Kaya and her husband might be having sex, with that really "erotic" bed, but nothing on screen.

Natural + starts, And we have the very brief run of Tanto.

One more volume, and I think we'll be at the point where I started reading the scanlations.

Also in the news about the official release, for those who didn't hear several days ago, the next set of dub episodes has been placed on indefinite hold due to issues at Media Blasters.

And the first issue of Shonen Jump Alpha is up—the chapter of Bakuman shown is our heroes meeting the voice actress at the Tezuka Awards.

165 is up.

Yeah, I figured the tension would be on this side.

Incidentally, I like what they did there with their cover page.

Too bad that won't be in the English release, unless Shonen Jump Alpha is going to use it.

I knew (ok everyone knew, since Bakuman foreshadowing is really obvious) that Ririka is gonna be someone important, but ...

I didn't expect this.

So whoever-his-name-is is a villain now? Seriously? And to confirm his villain status, he seems to have gone fatter. (I don't think fat people are evil, but this manga seems to follow the trope Good people = Beautiful people). And he seems to visiting what appears to be 4chan/2chan? Is this some sort of take that at 4chan/2chan?

Wow, I've totally failed to notice this guy was the aspirant to mangaka from the beginning. Yeah, he got fat.

Also, there's gonna be a jab at fans who think that Christmas Cake actresses aren't as cute and beautiful anymore. It's always has to be someone on less than 25-27 years old for some of these idiots.
