I feel sorry for Aoki. I mean, I feel kind of sorry for Hiramaru given that he apparently can't support himself and be happy at the same time, but a wife isn't going to fix that. Aoki, on the other hand, is naive and innocent enough to glamorize her first relationship without realizing she could do a lot better.

I think what he means is that the ones who tend to send in votes are the ones who actually reads, criticize and really look into the story of something. In other words, critics and reviewers., or those who fell like one.

I think one reason to why the numbers are so different is probably demographic. Kids tend to have smaller allowances, so they usually save up for something they like, like say a popular mangaka's first volume of his new manga. Apply that with the teenagers and the adults who would rather buy a volume rather than multiple weekly manga-zine. and then add that to the Eiji's hardcore fanbase (Which probably reach international audiences.) and we see a huge numbers game as it really is.

Yoshida expressed something like this along the lines, so your train of thought isn't far off concerning Hiramaru and Aoki.

I know how hardcore fans could have an effect on thos 900, 000 copies, but to see so many...! I dunno, feels a bit like an Ass Pull, but I hope I'm wrong on that.

PCP sounds like something that would be a big hit overseas. That said, mangaka apparently don't hear much about international audiences and such.

Could Aoki do better than Hiramaru? Oh, you betcha. But at least with him she knows his issues up front.

And engaged isn't married, as Yoshida will be quick to point out any time Hiramaru needs a quick shot of negativity.

Yes, but Yoshida's putting 95% of his income in a bank without letting him know in order to make him believe he's still poor and has to keep drawing.

Hey, am I the only one who still remembers that Kato wanted to meet Shiratori when she first became an assistant? Of course, he's probably been lying dead on the streets with his dog for years...

Oh, yes. FINALLY they actually start doing something with the whole Mio and Mashiro deal. Been far too long.

That's if Kato's friend wants to cause trouble just so she can fish out Mashiro, which that latter part was probably why she wanted to get to the party in the first place.

Though if I may be forgiven to say so, this doesn't look like this will have a misunderstanding like what happened with Takagi, Aoki and Miyoshi.

I think it's time for art school guy to admit that writing shonen manga isn't his forte. He needs to either get a writing partner who can do shonen, or switch to another demographic where depressing and artsy sells.

He have been appearing here and there whenever the assistants are on screen. And he probably got some lines too, since them all had a small subplot recently (with the new leader and all). I don't remember if his quest to be accepted in a shonen magazine was mentioned, however. I don't think so.

Yep, art school guy was the most resistant to the new guy at first, as the newcomer's seemingly high-handed behavior annoyed him, but he came around when the new lead assistant proved to be really good at lead assisting. Art school guy's ambitions didn't come up at the time, as everyone was busting their butts trying to make deadline and dividing attention would have been a bad idea.

There is not much new developments in this chapter, except meeting Kato's new friend. Somehow, I think the next arc would be based on this event.

Aww, cute chapter. Nice to see just exactly how far the brohood between Shujin and Mashiro goes.

As for something completely unrelated: since when is there a rule stating There Can Only Be One when it comes to anime?
