Halloween night cannot come fast enough.

I've only read the first volumes of the comic, but damn am I looking forward to this.

I never really saw the point of zombie apocalypse genre.

Early parts of that trailer gave the indication that it would have been a comedy. I am displeased that it isn't. >:(

I like the psychological/moral playground that zombie apocalypse works can produce. Not that a great many go that route, but when they do my toes curl with glee. ...never been able to get into the ones that are primarily gorefests.

I hope this is going to make my toes curl with glee.

...but yeah, that poor horse...

The comic, at least what I read of it, was more focused on being a character study, so I imagine toe curling will ensue.

Who else is watching the encore showing with the page ready to edit?

Not I, but that's mostly because I rented Zombieland through netflix, and want to send off the disc in tomorrow's (well, technically today, it's after midnight Monday, here) mail.

The first episode did look interesting, but unfortunately I haven't Tivo or the like, and I sometimes work on Sunday nights, so unless AMC has an online viewing option (and their website doesn't suck ass like it was when I tried entering the zombie contest ) I'll have to scour Youtube or whatnot... which has its own problems, at least on my connection.

If the "This Season on The Walking Dead" preview afterward means anything, they've expanded it even more. It looks like they want the first season to only cover the first volume.

I think the first season is about six or so episodes, so that would be a pretty good fit with the degree to which they seem to be expanding things. Though, as much as I love that they're fleshing things out more, I hope it doesn't take four to six years for them to get to the Woodbury arc.

Man, awesome premiere. A good show of Adaptation Expansion.

I'm pretty astounded at the production values for the premiere. If they can keep it up, they will earn some major kudos from me at least.

I was also (pleasantly) surprised at how graphic it was for a cable tv show.

It's probably just me, but I thought some of the graphicness, so to speak, was a bit unnecessary. For one example off the top of my head, I think they could've just shown the crowd eating the horse without getting up close and showing them pulling out entrails and such.

Then again, I've always been a fan of implied horror, and not-infrequently find the "IN YOUR FUCKING FACE!" depictions a turn-off (and I don't mean in a sexual way, you pervs ).

My problem with the horse thing was that it was too long. Seriously, a few seconds at most would have sufficed. When the audience is getting bored of watching something be dismembered, that is not a good sign.

I was listening to the music as it was going on so I didn't get bored at all.

I read the comic book. I'm pleased that the series is just as badass.

Normally that thing doesn't bother me (I can look goatse in the... erm, eye without flinching), but I couldn't watch that scene too closely.

It probably didn't help that I had a tomato-based dinner tonight, either.

I can't remember all the names of te characters from the comic. Besides Glen, blond lady, and Rick, were they all new?
