Yeah, that does seems pretty Vagabond like.
Mind you, I am pretty sure it's actually a pretty old kind of plot.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!yeah that's about it.
that's not to say that vinland saga ISN'T a really good manga, it's just that the similarities while reading the two were kinda striking.
I think I will post what I think of it here once I finish the first volume.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!I would hardly call VS 'lite'. It's got more gags and more excitement and less nihilism, but that's it.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Started watching Kimi To Boku. It's cute.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo....since when was vagabond nihilistic?
I left off at about the part Musashi got his Achilles tendon cut.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.so i'm watching hunterxhunter and i'm like 8 episodes into the chimera ant arc.
to be honest i'm not sure how togashi got away with running this in shounen jump. the moment this arc started it should have moved to young jump immediately. this is easily the darkest content i've ever seen in a shounen before, easily outdoing Attack on Titan. it's on par with the typical grimdark seinen content like Jiraishin or Berserk. for that reason it's continuously gripping and emotionally powerful but i'm wondering if anyone protested while this was being serialized? i'm sure people may have objected to togashi's sloppy artwork in serialization but i've heard nothing of people protesting the actual content.

Speaking of Togashi changing where to serialize Hx H I once brought up the idea of him moving it to monthly so that there would be less delays for his health problems.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!that wouldn't stop him from delaying hxh if he felt like it, but it would be much easier for him to stick to a schedule consistently.
Interesting enough, the fourth season of Teekyuu! just started... and apparently there's already an opening song ready for a 5th season (and it's even LABELED as such):
Clearly Teekyuu insane enough that time itself has no meaning.
Either that, or they are going to try and parody those super extra Long-Runners who start and we already know they are going to continue for like, ever.
Note:This is just me guessing, I never watched Tekyuu.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!... Isn't Teekyuu supposed to be about a tennis club? What are they doing with bellydance outfits? Or is it actually more of a random-topic series like Lucky Star?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
Teekyuu is basically Lucky Star on drugs. In 3-minute doses.
Seriously, marathon the first season (it can be done in one sitting due to the format). It's insane.
Teekyuu is about Tennis in the same way K-On! is about light music and Evangelion is about the Bible.
The fourth season manages to keep up just enough good jokes in its episodes, but the spin-off is more random without being as funny. I feel I could not stand more than two minutes of that stuff at a time.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.so i picked up this one manga out of curiosity last night. it's called Black Clover, see? it's about this kid named Aster who, despite having no magical talent, is working his way to being the next sorcerer emperor. to help out with this goal, he can summon a giant black anti-magic zweihander.
first two or three chapters have a very Naruto-esque vibe, right down to the short blonde-haired main character with unbeatable determinationnote and the aloof black-haired rival who's better than the main character in every conceivable way. however, around five chapters in, when Aster is introduced to his new supporting cast, you can see it becoming its own thing. i'm gonna be keeping an eye on it.
i watched the first episode of Teekyuu. i don't know what kind of drug that was, but i think i want more of it.

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.Rewatching Mawaru Penguindrum. There is tons of symbolism I didn't noticed in the first watch, like how in episode 9 the date on the library panel corresponds to Monday, March 20, the same date as the sarin gas attack.
This will be my first time rewatching a particular anime series.
Mawaru Penguindrum is fresh even in a rewatch. With understanding of what happens next, many events take on another light, and some things made a lot more sense (some didn't, of course).
So... I was thinking about Claymore the other day. Especifically, about something that's revealed to us in it's final chapters about the "Near-Awakened Beings"
We are informed that they are like that because the organization put the flesh of people they cared about inside them rather then just normal Yoma.
But if it's like that, then why was Clare who was given the flesh of "The Strongest of all Number Ones" so weak when compared to her fellow Claymores?
Maybe in the other ones the organization put the flesh of the people they cared about AND that of normal Yoma rather then how it was in Clare's case?
Which reminds me, when Clare revealed to her friends that she was 1/4th Yoma rather then 1/2 they were all surprised.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Those folks had People they cared about who got turned into Youma put inside them, didn't they? Like Princilla's Father, IIRC. So they're still 1/2, not 1/4 like Claire, and the situation is still distinct from Claire.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."But then it just makes you wonder why Priscilla was so overpowered. And yeah, I know her eating her dad and somehow subconsciously knowing he wasn't really a monster was stated to be the reason for that, but frankly? I can get why for the former, but it was the latter that the organization's men were focused on... and the latter I don't buy it except in an abstract way.
Which reminds me.... did we ever learn exactly why Theresa was so broken? Priscilla got some explanation (Although, I don't really think it was satisfactory) but Theresa is mostly just a big enigma.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!because she's Theresa.that's all.le prodigy and stuff.
Secret SignatureNow that I know how to read Hiragana and Katana (thank high school Japanese) I finally get what they say about "the penguindrum is a washing machine". lol.
So I just watched most of Teekyuu. It's... something. It's very much something.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.
Extremely badass cocky young warrior achieves enlightenment after enduring many hardships and killing many people. He becomes a near-pacifist and wandering helpful person. The topic of war and violence is explored in both (shallow) glory and (deep) horror, and the fun and horrors thereof are acknowledged. There are quite a few duels.
I think that's about it?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
