Or that the CPU was so dumb that it would spam support moves against mons "weak" to them. So you can beat one of Lance's Dragonite with a level 1 Weedle if you wanted.

But it's plenty playable despite the jank. Frankly the new ones are jank in their own way because Game freak are a collection of fairly mediocre programmers and game developers, but they're fun to play anyway.

I agree on the last part. Everything is terrible.

Now, here's the thing. New programmers have been hired, so hopefully things are a bit better this time.

I'm the kind of person who believes they will change for the better. Maybe it sounds too optimistic, but definitely not impossible.

Everything sucks forever

The Pokemon Company being what it is, I doubt Pokemon will ever have a really great video game any time soon. Everything they release with the Pokemon label has massive, glaring flaws no matter who develops it. They must be a nightmare to work with.

Especially since it has been made clear they want to ride this cash cow out to the end so if even if they made an "ideal" game, they'd suddenly have to actually live up to it constantly instead of dumping new things for other new things all the time.

Remember the time that Smogon announced they are going to unban Giratina-O to OU as an early April Fools joke? People took it seriously and discussed whenever Giratina won't affect too much in OU or not.

Or maybe it's Giratina Altered forme? I don't know.

Pretty sure that was Origin forme due to that whole "since it uses up an item slot it's restricted" argument back then they used for it.

I look at the way Nintendo openly and enthusiastically supports their first party competitive games and I know the Pokemon Company isn't going to do the same to Pokken, since that'd lose them money.

I disagree about the new games being bad. It's far from it and the pokemon games are some of my favorite and most played handhelds.

Speaking of bad, apparently this big GO event was a TOTAL disaster, one on historical levels.

From what I'm reading, Go Fest was filled with server issues that prevented anyone from playing the game. Tickets are actually being refunded.

I heard all the cellphones in one area caused a mass disturbance or something along those lines. Massive strain on the server

The saddest thing about the refunds is that some of these people bought their tickets from scalpers. If I heard correctly, the refunds would go to the scalpers. Yeah.

I hope they got caught, cuz that is very much illegal.

Apparently they got some woman to try to address the crowd and someone threw a bottle at her. This whole thing is really sad to hear about.

Hope the guy who did that is banned for life. Even if the event was poorly organized, that's the worst kind of behaviour. The kind of shit that convinces them to never do something like that ever again.
