I like Palkia, Rypherior, Zigzagoon, Ninetales, Drifloon, Smeargle, Mew, Lugia, Ho-oH, Frealigatr, Tyranitar, Arcues, Breloom, Cubone, Farfetched and Mantine.

My favorite's Pikachu (of course, why else would I train one of them in two of my teams instead of Manectric and Luxray?); followed by the cute kitty legend, the badass fire dragon, the slightly less badass evolved gecko voiced by Dan Green in an alternate universe, the cute Gohan copy (at least I like to think so), and the awesome mouse owned by Surge that caught my heart for a while.O^.^O

Butterfree is one of my favourites for some reason. Oh yeah, I like Bugs.

Heracross, Breloom, Pikachu, Mudkip, Marshtomp, Swampert, Chimchar, Monferno, Infernape, Lanturn, Honchkrow.

Oh and Scizor, Registeel, Steelix, Electivire.

Aerodactyl is by far my favorite. Anatomically impossible and still doesn't give a fuck.

My list would be:

Aerodactyl, Lapras, Gengar, Exeggutor, the Porygon line, Kingdra, Lanturn, Forretress, Sceptile, Breloom, Spiritomb, Yanmega, Froslass, and Mesprit.

Breloom in particular appeals to me for its resemblance to Luigi.

I love Smeargle. Stats be damned, Sketch is the best thing ever. Also Lapras, Dragonair, the Mareep line, Blastoise, Gardevoir, Gallade, Lucario.

Missingno gets an honorable mention for Nightmare Fuel.

Who needs stats when you have the largest movepool of any Pokemon in the game and one of those moves happens to be Spore?

The mention of Dragonair actually brought something to mind for me. Is it just me, or are some evolutions actually a step down (at least looks-wise) for the hapless Mons?

I mean, Dratini is cool, in a cute sort of way, Dragonair looks flippin' awesome, and Dragonite... looks like Barney's brain-damaged cosplay-obsessed cousin who thinks he's an otherkin and doesn't get talked about by the rest of the family :/

Then there's Rhyhorn, one of the most Bad Ass-looking Pokes in the lot, at least in my quasi-humble opinion. Then it turns into Rhydon, and, uh... yeah. Not sure how I feel about Rhyperior just yet, to be honest...

And there's Lickilicky, which looks like the unholy offspring of Gene Simmons and a beachball. I mean, Lickitung was a bit weird to start with, but at least the bizarre pink-thing-with-tongue had some dignity, neh?

Gengar's not as bad as some, but it's still a bit goofy-looking compared to Haunter.

And Tangela... I dunno, I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the amazing hentai meatball, but Tangrowth just doesn't work for me. It looks like a Shambling Mound got lost on its way to a D&D game :/

Granted, I actually like a lot of the evolutions, but some of them are just... blech.

I always thought Dragonite looked good in Red/Blue, but awful in every other game.

Dragonite can be badass when it wants to — with the right Death Glare it looks absolutely terrifying. But yes, it makes a great pillow.:3

I wasn't that big on Tangrowth's design at first until I recognized that it was based off a shaggy caveman, at which point I started liking it more. I guess it helps that I found Tangela's design forgettable.

Dang, I remember when people were all outraged over the 4th gen evo designs, and I admit I wasn't too fond of them either at first. Of course, since the evos managed to make Yanma awesome, I can say they were ultimately a good thing.

One day I wanna make a Doubles Team that starts off with a Yanma and a Yanmega. Yanma has the same speed, it gets Compoundeyes, Tailwind, and a couple other things, and Yanmega gets the muscle.

It COULD work, at least.

I dunno, Dragonite's kinda grown on me. I much prefer him over a certain Dragon that tries to look cool, but just ends up falling "flat", if you know what I mean. Though I do wish there were more "beautiful" Pokemon like Dragonair.

Man, it must be nice to like Pokemon that are competitively powerful. ._.

PS: Oh yeah, it's funny how a realization like "Tangrowth ~= caveman" can make you appreciate a mon more. I used to not like any of the fourth generation starters whatsoever, but then it was like "holy crap frikkin ANKYLOSAURUS!" and now I loves my little Terry.

The new evos are no worse than most 4th gen Pokémon. The worst you can say is they chose the evolvees inconsistently, rightly picking Murkrow and Togetic while ignoring Farfetch'd and Qwilfish but evolving Rhydon, Magmar, and Electabuzz. But they did OK.

If I'm outraged at anything it's the crappy 4th gen spriting. Smogon has a fine article on how sprites changed since Red/Blue/Green. Today's Pokémon are awkwardly posed and shaded and have lost all of 1st gen's endearing caricature. I also object to many of the new designs, particularly Heatran and spike-on-his-chest-WTF Lucario, but maybe I wouldn't mind if they got better sprites.

Yeah, that's the one part of the Lucario design that's never made any sense to me. I'm not sure why all the spikes are necessary.

They're in dumb places too, like the back of his hands. This prevents Lucario from chest bumping and pounding it without impaling his friends.

/is very disappointed the Magnet series hasn't been mentioned at all.

I always thought that 3rd gen pokemon had the worst designs overall, especially Salamence. It looks like one of the random doodles I did in my notebook back in grade school.
