So Draven officially won, got it.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Speaking of salt...lol.
I wonder if next year they'll change some rules.
Removing previous winners would be a good start. Doubt that'll happen. Rallying, eh, not really either. That wasn't an issue in any way. Especially since it was encouraged. But hey, great upsets happen, especially entirely different characters winning.
Loved it when Draven and L-Block won the final matches myself, honestly. Link is cool and all, but when you win that much? Well, it becomes boring as heck.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Next year's contest likely won't be a character contest, actually.
The cow eats Fruit Loops at midnight.I wonder if it'll be a game contest. Only rule is "Games from the same series will be disqualified", or they'll just choose a "series". Whether or not it'll cover everything in the sub-series will be different.
For instance, it could be Super Mario Bros. series, Yoshi series, Wario series, and Mario Kart series. All of them are different types of games. Or Mario Kart could be lumped in with Super Mario Bros. Or they could all be lumped in together.
...This is why doing something beyond a character contest is difficult.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.My stance on the rallying: if it bothers you, start rallying for your favorite character. Spread word. Get attention. Gather all the Link fans or whoever you're trying to push, and storm the votes yourselves.
Can't do that? Can't find enough people to counter out the legions of Draven fans? Well, then I guess Draven is just more popular. If you can't find enough people to vote for your favorite character in a popularity contest, then your character is less popular by definition.
If Draven got 50,000 people voting for him and Link only got 30,000, that's 20,000 more people who liked Draven than Link. It doesn't matter why they were there. It doesn't matter that there were rallies, because those rallies consist entirely of someone going, "Hey everyone, go vote for our awesome character." You can do the same damn thing. It's not black magic, it's just popularity.

Rallying is encouraged solely to see who is truly the most popular. If Link is truly the most popular, he would've gotten more votes. It also isn't hard to rally people to get others to vote for Link, since he's very damn popular. He also didn't lose by that much, so it's hard to say what would've happened if people rallied Zelda fans up as well. Could Draven have won? Maybe?
I found that a great glorious end to an interesting contest. Now, seeing Link not make it to the final round would be interesting.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Link didn't make it to the final round. That's the other reason why this "True Final Round" crap is bullshit. If we were to exclude Draven from the finals, then the Bonus Match would have been Snake vs. Samus. Samus got completely snubbed by the angry "Snake! Draven! Link!" crowd.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Oh, right. People keep talking so much about Link I forgot the real final round was Samus VS Snake VS Draven.
Anyway, Samus VS Snake should have been the Bonus round, since they were the only other final participants besides Draven.
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol. It's not the same thing if the creators explicitly tell you to vote for them. They aren't just random people.
I dunno how much clout would that creator have?
If Game FA Qs didn't find that as an excuse to disqualify Draven, then it clearly didn't make a difference and was pretty much the same thing.
Again, it's just a silly contest and I really don't think it's a big deal that Link didn't even get to the final round. Like, at all. He's lost before anyway. -Shrugs-
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol. What about Draven vs. L-Block? As if the answer isn't obvious.

The bonus match should've been Draven vs Bub & Bob.
No, but the poll results and the front page the day after the contest saying Draven won is.

The wiki wasn't easily editable either. Page was notoriously locked.
Making that statement also pretty inaccurate too.
Honestly, let's just cut the crap here and now. Draven won officially. Stop spreading lies about the bonus round as if it meant something.(it appealed to some annoyed people, that's it)
What was silly is that we didn't get a Snake VS Samus bonus round instead. Link didn't even make it to the final round, anyway. Samus and Snake deserved the runner-up spot more of the entries. I do believe Snake had the most votes after Draven, so...
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.If it's a game contest, I'd nominate GORILLA.BAS. Everybody should. Otherwise your soul will be condemned by the immortal spirit of fuck if I know, just nominate that game.
Signatures are for lamers. There isn't much overlap between Draven, Snake, and Samus, so presumably it was supposed that Snake vs. Samus could be called just based on the votes of that round.
Although, Samus's voice actress tweeted for people to vote for Snake, as did Hideo Kojima and David Hayter (Snake's voice actor)...

Easily editable? The page is protected from being edited.
Clearly not.
It means an Admin has to edit it only. And in order for that to happen, it needs to be a final decision.
