Is there a release date yet?

And, wow... This might be where the series finally picks up and kicks thing into high gear.

Was the Shel with the painfully short hair? And I saw Tavia there too.

Water U Doin'?
Yeah, I thought the first two episodes of this season were... Eh, wouldn't say bad, but they were done somewhat awkwardly, particularly in the case of Rebecca's characterization. I feel like Carver was introduced a bit too quickly as well.

But the third episode's trailer does look... Legit terrifying. I like Clementine's new coat too.

That's definitely the community Tavia's from. So the people that got sent there in 400 days got massively screwed over.

[up]Aimless may be the word you're looking for. The first season had a clear theme in Lee's redemption arc, and protecting Clementine. Season 2 feels like, the adventures of Clementine, and nothing else really. It feels like Telltale doesn't really know what to do with this season really.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!
The Fastest Man Alive
I disagree. I think this season has way more of a focused "plot" than Season 1. But the plot is Carver, who only gets a brief reference in Episode 1, and spends most of Episode 2 just being a creepy idea. It's not until the end of Episode 2 that he really shows his hand and things kick off.

And really, Season 1 was kind of like that, too. Episode 1 is mostly about meeting the people, and going on a mission with Glenn. Episode 2 is completely unrelated to anything else in the season, and the ending scene with the car, which turns out to be the most important, is completely separate from everything else in the episode. It's only with Episode 3 does the actual plot of "we're going to Savannah to find a boat" really take off.
I always thought that the beginning of Season 2 was to further introduce the concept of how the Walkers weren't the only antagonistic force in the Zombie Apocalypse setting of The Walking Dead. While it was highlighted in Episode 2 of Season 1 with the St. John family and the bandits, along with the Crawford Community in Episode 4 (which had already been overrun by the time you enter their territory), the fact that the only thing worse to fear than the Walkers were humans turned hostile is made very apparent towards the end of the Second Episode of Season 2 with Carver's group.

While most of the hostile humans encountered in The Walking Dead game prior to this point were basically scavengers and bandits that only harassed/killed people they encountered, Carver's group is definitely one to fear. As shown by the fact that they were willing to chase after people for 5 consecutive days, these guys are no pushovers. I mean if they were able to dedicate that much energy into recapturing escaped members of their group, imagine if they decided to focus their efforts on warring with other survivor groups.

All I can say is that I look forward to this new episode, and hopefully an opportunity to beat that a******'s head in with a hammer.

Pretty flower
Personally I hope we can really get to see the politics and overall state of Carver's group. Sanctuary is rare is a zombie apocalypse. So if the place we get taken to is overall pretty alright I hope we get the chance to at least side with keeping the peace and security of the place. If it's not and turns out to quite the cesspit, then bring on the walkers! Overrun the joint!

In the former circumstance though I hope we can overthrow Carver. Guy and his cronies need to go down. In the latter circumstance I still hope we can save any decent people there.

Well the description stated that it's going to imply that the player will see why the people you met in that cabin wanted to leave Carver's group in the first place. I'm guessing it has to be something as bad; if not worse, than the secret of the St. John Dairy Farm. While the idea of Sanctuary is always something to enjoy, this hint along with the upcoming other 2 episodes has got to mean that you won't be able to stay there for long...if at all.

I somewhat hope that they'll build Carver's community as grey interms of a few things; namely that the place WAS as Tavia advertised and either degraded to what it is now or maybe is actually a good community in some aspects while less so in others.

So is the new episode coming this week?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
The Fastest Man Alive
Tomorrow on North American PSN (and Steam, I think?), Wednesday on Xbox and European PSN.

I'm interested to see what Kumail Nanjiani is doing in this episode. Because man do I have a hard time picturing that.

The Fastest Man Alive

He's a comedian, friend of Chris Hardwick's, has appeared on @midnight several times (including being its first winner, and starting the catch phrase #butts), has a gaming podcast with his wife on the Nerdist Network, and appeared on Community as the head janitor (not the head custodian; that was Nathan Fillion).

The Fastest Man Alive
Not a clue (I don't like to watch pre-release material), but I know he's in it.
He's apparently playing a one-armed survivor in Carvers camp. He is supposed to be funny I think.

Considering they hired a comedian to play him, it would be a waste and also a gambit to make him play a dramatic role.

Just finished episode 3. Big spoilers:

  • I can't believe that Carver went down that early. My guess is that Tavia will be pursuing our heroes in his place.
  • I wasn't surprised about Carlos and Alvin's deaths. The former needed to die so that Clem will become responsible for Sarah's wellbeing and the latter was marked for death ever since his survival became conditional. At least Alvin went down like a badass. I'm hoping that Nick manages to stick around til the end.
  • Speaking of Sarah, I'm almost certain she's alive. Telltale's clearly been building up to letting you choose whether to leave Sarah behind for being too "weak."
  • I was disappointed to see that the non-Bonnie 400 Days characters were demoted to cameos. Hopefully they'll have more appearances.
  • Speaking of 400 Days, I was disappointed that Nate isn't part of Carver's community. I hope we see him again though.
  • Mike and Jane seem okay.
  • As for my choices, I helped Sarah, didn't tell Bonnie about Luke, I tried to admit to stealing the walkie talkie but the game says I didn't, I choose to walk away while Kenny had his fun, and I choose to chop off Sarita's arm.
Live long and prosper
1346 Marioguy12813th May 2014 12:38:46 PM from various galaxies
Aside from Bonnie who came along no matter what, I'm pretty that's all we're gonna see of the 400 Days cast if they came with Tavia. In other words, getting them all to come along just doomed them.

I think Luke is bitten. He mentioned being tired, and he's looking a little grey. Not to mention he found out about that massive hoard SOMEHOW.

Seems like the theme for this season was if Clem is gonna hold onto her humanity or not. The scenes with Carver pretty much reinforced that, with him trying to relate with Clementine and saying that her being a tough little kid is how she's gonna survive in this world. Sarah is an obvious foil to her, I'm sure she's alive, and gonna be used in a big decision later on.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!
I liked the speech Carver gives Clem. It's adressed as much at the player as her, though I really didn't feel like it applied to me personally that much.

The last decision was kind of a no-brainer. Who thought it was a good idea to not cut of the arm? Otherwise I was the minority in a lot of the decisions and I feel like I screwed up because of at least one.
1348 Marioguy12813th May 2014 03:17:11 PM from various galaxies
I love that decision. You saw Reggie earlier, and he mentioned that his life was saved by cutting off the arm immediately, and that was echoed here. Yeah Lee doesn't survive his arm getting cut off, but you have the opportunity to fix that here. So you cut off her arm except... The cut is very messy, you're still in the middle of a zombie hoard. And your doctor is dead. Oops, you didn't think that through.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!
[up] Yeah I decided not to cut the arm off right then and there, I figured she would just die of blood loss later and Kenny would hate my guts for it.

Was...I the only one who stayed behind to watch Carver get his comeuppance. I mean, I know its wrong but after watching him beat a man to death, throw another off a roof, and the beat a guy until he broke his fucking eye... I guess I just didn't want his to get away with it.

The Fastest Man Alive
Okay, I am officially done buying Telltale's games up front.

The episode is just not on PSN. At all, as far as I can tell. When I go to the episode list, it just says "coming soon".
