I sang The Beautiful People and Midlife Crisis after getting it. Caught in a Mosh didn't disappoint (one of the ones I was looking forward to). About to look into Radar Love and Break On Through.
The character creator isn't as deep as I'd hoped. The facial modifications are good, but the body half of things is lacking. Really, there are changes all throughout. It's going to take a while for me to get used to all this.
Is there a trope for wearing a live animal as part of your outfit? There's one piece for female characters where you have a live fox draped over your shoulders.
Oh man, I really want to get this. Anyone have anything to say about the keyboard? I actually play piano and was wondering how well they implemented it.

As for the keyboard, it feels like a standard unweighted keyboard, but you can (as far as I know) only play the right-hand part of any particular song.

Those who accept their fate find happiness; those who defy it, glory.Well that's a major bummer.
There's still a lot of songs I want to see in Rock Band.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianAh darn. Well, at least it had a much better run for DLC than Guitar Hero. Maybe they'll see fit to come back to this game and release DLC again someday.
I'm still really bummed out that they never added more music to The Beatles: Rock Band.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. The last song will be American Pie by Don Mclean
Harmonix's eulogy to the Rock Band franchise. Keep in mind they're not taking down the RB servers for DLC or multiplayer, which means that it's possible they'll come back to provide some DLC someday, just not as often.
So yeah. Like I said before, the last song released for DLC was American Pie by Don Mclean. A fitting song to cap off the franchise's entire DLC run, I feel, what with "the day the music died" and all.
"The day the music died" is an actual event, where several musicians (including Buddy Holly) died in a plane crash.
American Pie is fitting more because it's about saying good-bye and moving on after the end of an era.
Honestly, it'd be more fitting if they released tons of Buddy Holly songs onto there and then released "American Pie". (And I don't think they ever did release any Buddy Holly songs either. Or a lot of influential rock musicians whose music gets licensed for use in media very commonly. It seems kind of odd for a franchise called Rock Band to never celebrate any of the roots of rock and roll.)
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Technically, they wouldn't have to license jack. Buddy Holly's been in the public domain for four or five years now.
From my understanding, that only applies to recordings he made that date to before 1957. Granted, most of his more famous material is from then, but still.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I'm not sure what you're actually trying to get at there.
Anyway, I'm almost 100% certain that his entire music catalog is public domain. A local band did a show where they played all of it when it happened, back in 2009 (I looked it up this time).
They stopped doing DLC? Darn it.
They had Sponge Bob songs but didn't have 'Goofy Goober Rock' or 'Sweet Victory', even though they'd be most fitting. I was gonna try and suggest them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8yAjWvAqyMSo while this thread probably makes sense staying dead, there is something that flew under the radar at this last E3 that interested me.
BandFuse: Legends of Rock is going with the Rocksmith approach of letting players plug anything into the machine. Setting it apart is its bass career and vocals.
Also, the 3 guitar instructors are some of my favorite guitarists in the business: Slash, Zakk Wylde and George Lynch.
It's got a bunch of songs I'd like to sing and and I've always wanting a bass-training game (Bootsy Collins from Parliament-Funkadelic is the bass instructor).
I think while I wait for HMX to finish with their Fantasia game, this should tide me over.
Is gonna bomb, just like Power Gig and Rocksmith.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Rocksmith has not bombed. It managed to maintain a niche following with weekly DLC and stuff. Power Gig? Yeah, that's a bomb.
Well, relative to earlier music games, it kinda bombed, but that's a topic for another thread.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.
I'm not really thrilled about the idea of having to unlock the pieces of clothing rather than buying them. To recreate my RB 2 band, I'm going to have to buy a pro guitar, pro keyboard, and 5-star every song on Expert!
