What about Megatokyo? Sure, it's a bit messy sometimes, but it is just awesome.
Problem Sleuth. It might look simple, but the art still manages to impress by being full of character and really imaginative. I'm still wondering what the Cathedral Of Syndectic Ascention would look like in real ife.
Warriors, torchbearers, come redeem our dreams. Shine a light upon this night of otherworldly fiends.Lackadaisy, Dr Mc Ninja and perhaps Digger... I love the artist's work, but I'm not sure Digger is the best of it, visually speaking. (In storytelling terms, it's an awesome comic.) It's more stylised than the other stuff I mentioned, though, and I personally like my comics with a lot of detail, as long as it's still clean.

- Drowtales used to be medeocre at best but now....
- Similarly, Goblins has come a long way. It's as violent as it gets, though.
- Pawn is a rarely sited (and rarely updated!) NSFW comic with decent art if you like the sketch style and something few people know.

Red Moon Rising, among others already listed (The Meek, HERO, Lackadaisy, Hanna Is Not A Boys Name).
The Phoenix Requiem has beautiful backgrounds but there's something... lacking. There's a lot of technical skill but the style doesn't have a lot of character. So it gets a special mention.
And if I'm not gonna be shot for this Oglaf is also a very pretty webcomic once you get past the dicks.

derp derp derpBlastwave is nice.
Homestuck, yeah, I like that too, especially when Hussie goes into artistic mode. You know the guy is holding back just to keep things stylish.
Dresden Codak is beautiful. Love the art. If only it would update. :(
But I don't think I could hang any webcomic stuff up on my wall... well, I do have a Tik Tok poster from Gunnerkrigg on my wall. But other than that, most comics are too... flat. The vectors and single colors look great on screen, but printed media is a whole different beast. Details just look better IRL.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterHipster Hitler has pretty great art. The question is whether you'd want a cartoon of Adolf Hitler voicing douchebag hipster opinions on your wall...
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdI see an xkcd and a Dinosaur Comics and raise everyone a Jerkcity :)
On a more sensible note, Platinum Grit. Best black and white art in any webcomic that I can think of off the top of my head, especially in the stuff that was done after they made the change from dead-tree format to digital.
Oh and Templar Arizona deserves some love. The backdrops can be a bit simplistic sometimes, but the dude draws great bodies. Big bodies, little bodies, fat, thin, or muscled bodies, he's populated the town of Templar with a cast who are all totally relaxed and comfortable being whatever size and shape they are, and his love of playing with anatomy means his comic will never be one of those ones where the only way to tell characters apart is by costume and hairstyle.
The author of Templar Arizona is a woman.
Although it has a slower schedule now that it's in color, in the later days of One Way or Another, I considered Juathuur to have the best art of any daily updating webcomic.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back. Now I know what it is about The Meek that bothers me. The eyes are too big while the iris and pupils are far too small. Everyone ends up with this slightly manic look on their face.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"I dig the manic look. I think it suits the characters. 8) But I do know what you mean, and I found it a little odd at first (though I never pinned it down as that specifically)
Anyone know how often Lackadaisy updates? I feel like I've picked up another Dresden Codak, but with a single coherent plot dragged over the months. Speaking of which, jesus christ I don't know why I even bother going there anymore. Oh right—the art is godly. -.-
Lackadaisy doesn't actually have an update schedule ;_;
survival of the tight-lippedIf anything deserves to be hung up on a wall, it's HERO. Not updated very frequently, but it's not dead yet and it's REALLY easy to see why. When I first read it, I thought it was the best watercolor/pastel/pen(cil?) work EVER. Turns out the artist uses a tablet, but it's nice to see someone who clearly knows what she's doing.
Penny Arcade and Digger are great, too.

There was a comic called Norm and Cory that had magnificent Disney-Looney Tunes-inspired characters and lush backgrounds, but it has not updated since 2007... and clearly not intentionally, since the last page left the last chapter unresolved in the middle of the action. The author's style gradually improved from this to this! I miss it.
If you want proof that Andrew Hussie has artistic talent, read And It Don't Stop◊, the best comic about robots and rap battles ever.
Also, adding on to the growing list of luminaries, I'm going to nominate the person who does Subnormality. It's a shame that so much of their amazing art is obscured by the massive walls of text.
Words cast into the uncaring void of the internet.Probably Lackadaisy. For sprite comics, A Path To Greater Good is amazing (all of the sprites are totally custom).
There's also Achewood; while the art isn't very complicated, the character's expressions are basically perfect.

—The Meek, Fey Winds, Kukuburi, Freak Angels, and Boxer Hockey. Is that too many? I don't think I'd know what to do with just one vote.
Also Supernormal Step. It starts out pretty rough but by now he's really refined his style.
Lackadaisy has some really fantastic art.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderWell, I just feel inadequate now.
Read my stories!I think Lackadaisy wins this thread. Looks like time for an Archive Binge...
Oh man, I'm going to have to go with Lackadaisy too after seeing that.
(But I will always love you, GC! You and your colours)
Yes, Lackadaisy has the best art of any webcomic I've read, and possibly any comic, web or print.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdI've always been fond of the watercolour look of Minus, myself.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.
Penny Arcade just blows everyone away. The art (particulary the one shots and posters) is so good, yet it updates regularly. Other comics may have better art but at the cost of the volume or regularity of output.
Dresden Codak has awesome art.
I really respect any webcomic that has it's own style and consistently delivers it . There's quite a lot of real good ones out there, but not many have a style that is fully capable of sheer epicness.
