Of all the new Alola pokemon revealed so far, most of them don't really suit Ash aside from the starters and the basic bird. When you think of the type of pokemon Ash usually gets and look at what's revealed so far, most of them don't seem like pokemon he usually gets.
The most I've heard about XY is that "it's close to a real anime", whatever that means.
The Protomen enhanced my life.it's because the animation and writing as a whole has finally gotten to real standards that people expect out of good anime.
Hell, the anime itself tends to now have animation that is generally on standard better then most other series airing right now.
Watch SymphogearAnd it only took twenty years.
I wish the series had been like this when it started to be honest. But Shudo seemed to have his own ideas, considering he wanted it to be more of a family show.
Not to mention how he initially avoided the evil team plots like the plague, and decided to exclusively use Team Rocket for everything. Ironically, as I understand it, he left because he didn't like the way they were treated or something like that. I was never totally sure, but it feels like even after he was gone, his influence took a long time to fully shake off considering how poor they did with the other team plots.
One Strip! One Strip! The main problem is the anime has to be stretched out over 3-4 years until the next gen of games come out. So each saga always has 150-200 episodes. Most TV shows alone don't last 100 episodes, let alone single sagas of the show.
The Pokemon anime is very time consuming especially if you want to watch every episode of a saga. If each region/saga of the anime was only 70-80 episodes similarly to the Kanto arc, people would complain far less about filler or pointless episodes. Even then it might be harder to do that since there is usually more characters and roles for the female companion now than in the Kanto arc.
I can maybe see what he meant. In the OS Team Rocket followed that more complex development of being promising people who, through lack of good social interactions, tried to play part in some cool villain gang they weren't very good at. They had most of their backstories looked into and relevant at that point in the series.
By AG they were often more generic over the top Straw Loser villains with the odd Enemy Mine.
He might have liked XY since it played more loyally to the original concept (par the lack of many backstory nods).

I mean, technically speaking Jessie is just following in her mother's footsteps, since her mother Miyamoto was a high-ranking member of Team Rocket, back when Giovanni's mother was still the Boss of the organization.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Wasn't that element exclusive to the radio show? I don't think I remember any references of Jessie's mother in the anime itself, par maybe odd unrelated gags.

You may have a point, Shadao. I mean, after all, in addition to the main Power Rangers page, there are pages for Mighty Morphin, Zeo, Turbo, and In Space. (And, yes, there are also pages for the later seasons, but those four are a complete narrative, much like the Pokemon Anime is, despite the writers' best (worst) efforts.)
So, for example:
- like Mighty Morphin, Kanto, Orange, and Johto would combine for Anime/PokemonTheOriginalSeries
- Hoenn would get Anime/PokemonAdvancedGeneration with a redirect from Anime/PokemonRubyAndSapphire due to the online rebranding,
- And the other gens up to this point would follow the Anime/Pokemon(Mainline Games) style, with Black and White having Anime/PokemonBestWishes as a redirect.
Of course, that would make the problem of the character pages even worse since they're already divided that way, plus this would have the Anime characters delinked from their respective seasons except for those first 2 sets.
The Power Rangers character pages do follow that model as a rule. Granted, however, that not even the great Dr. Thomas Oliver was in every season.
Precita: Given that the NX is supposed to be released 4 months after Sun and Moon, I'm wondering if that season will only be 2 years instead of 3-4? Of course, it depends on when Gen 8 comes out, but since I'm not seeing any remakes for Gen 4 & 5 yet...

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.I suggest a possible revamp of the whole anime page if possible. With over 900 episodes and XY&Z gaining a lot of coverage in terms of story and character, it's going to be tricky for newcomers to know which episodes and tropes are associate with the late 90s and which are from the modern series.
Ash's current image on his character sheet, while I do find it to be the best Ash design since the original, is not what most people would come to associate the classic Ash. Likewise, characters like Misty and Brock are shown in their current designs whereas popular media (and even the show's flashbacks) tend to show them in their Kanto designs.
First Installment Wins here. But at the same time, I don't want XY Ash to be associated with tropes that he mellowed out after nearly 20 years (such as being an immature, egoistical brat).
Okay, TPCi does a whole lot of butchering. But Cartoon Network, if you're going to show 2 episodes back to back, please start with the rerun to properly set up the new episode! I was thinking we were getting a 2-part conclusion to the Snowbelle Arc today!
EDIT: Also, full original opening for this week's (new) ep. Boo.

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.So how long until the League finals are dubbed?
The Protomen enhanced my life.We just saw the third part of the 4-part Snowbelle arc, so I'd say they'll air just before Thanksgiving.
Appropriate: CN can have a 2-part special on the 12th for the Finals themselves, then air the first 2 episodes of Sun and Moon on the 19th.
Hopefully, they'll give us a break on the 26th for Thanksgiving before starting the Flare arc in December.
You'd better not pout, I'm tellin' you why:
Lysandre Claus is comin' to town.

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.Still catching up on the dub episodes and I now have to say that Pikachu rock guy and his headbangin Pikachu are the best. And his crush on Serena, I fuckin ship it man. If Serena leaves at the end of Kalos seriously bring him back and have Serena go with him. It's cute
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.Well the dub rendered Serena's borderline Anguished Declaration of Love as "Give back the real Ash, because you're not him!"
Of all the new Alola pokemon revealed so far, most of them don't really suit Ash aside from the starters and the basic bird. When you think of the type of pokemon Ash usually gets and look at what's revealed so far, most of them don't seem like pokemon he usually gets.
Well there's Rockruff, but he could easily go to one of the traveling companions. I like the idea of Ash getting Wimpod. Mainly because its a Water Bug.
Not all that interested in Mudsdale or Crabrawler since they're pure Ground and Fighting respectively. We've seen these types already done as wild cards quite often. If they had a unique secondary type I could of got behind them, but right now I want to see some new or underused types on Ash's team.
Unless it has a pre-evolution I'm not sure about Ash getting Turtonator (its 6 Feet Tall). Usually he gets small guys before evolving them into bigger forms. He hasn't caught anything 'big' by default since Snorlax. Also by default Starters (Litten in this case) get first dibs for a spot on Ash's Team.
Alola Forms are something completely new-he could could get one or maybe he won't. Of what we've seen so far I think Alola Sandshrew could work.
X&Y did show that Ash doesn't need to have some of the new trends in his team. Fairy-type? Serena got one, but not Ash? Mega Evolutions? He got something different. So him having an Alolan form Pokémon isn't really guaranteed.
Another interesting fact is that almost all of Ash's Pokémon evolve through level up. And of the four what need something else to evolve, only two (Gliscor and Leavanny) did fully evolve.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Huh, there may have been outside interference in the League according to the latest edit here. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=DethroningMoment.PokemonAnime
The Protomen enhanced my life. Not to be rude, but please get that confirmed. Otherwise its just heresy.
What cryptic dialogue from Malva? Was it during the finals or right after?

That's speculation from people bitter about Alan beating Ash. A lot of people on pokemon forums are coming up with conspiracy theories that Team Flare rigged the league by powering up his Mega Charizard. But there doesn't seem to be anything in canon hinting toward that
And even if it's discovered that there was tampering (which sounds like an Ass Pull), it'll still leave a hollow victory with the League title going to Ash by default. Leagues over, move on.
I've got spurs, that jingle-jangle-jingle!Makes you wonder what hook the writers could possibly do to make people interested in Sun/Moon.
After Ash losing the league despite all the build-up, then Serena and her ship possibly leaving, there's also not much any reason to be hyped for any future season. And this is in addition to everyone who also sat through the original seasons, AG and DP before that for 20 years.
I almost feel like they've exhausted every possible role for a female companion in the series, they've had Ash at his strongest for two gens (DP and XY), but still denied him victory. They have real competent and evil villains like Hunter J, Galactic and now Team Flare. They did the edgy shonen rivals like Paul and now Alan.
I mean, where do you go from here? It feels like the writers have already more or less done every possible scenario people want out of a show, without going the whole nine yards and having Ash win.

In fairness fans say that every region. Many were certain the show ran out of steam by DP but then the next two regions tried some different stuff that turned some heads. Sure some of these turned out to be a swiz, but they can still manipulate people into tuning in for 'just a little while more' (seriously, the league build up this region, while a huge cop out, was pretty damn crafty considering so many could have predicted the outcome beforehand).
