Or emulate the patched game on your PC/phone.
Yes! It's going back to what made the Valkyria series popular, unlike what Revolution did. So it looks like this game is based on the Finnish-Soviet Winter War particularly fighting in an snowy climate. Plus, it looks like each character can lead a squad of ally soldiers to help them. I hope there's an english dub and the Squad 7 DLC team up sounds great.
Is it just me, or does the gear being used by the protagonists look a wee bit too modern for the supposed era? I understand that the tech has always been simultaneously a bit more advanced than Earth (everything that uses Ragnite), yet behind in certain respects (the whole concept behind the Fencers), but that LMG has more than a few modern-day features, and the uniforms look more armored. Not sure about the tanks; the Empire's stuff looks roughly the same, but the the Federation tanks certainly look different than the Gallian models, albeit with far more kit and upgrades.
They aren't Gallians, maybe the Federation had better stuff.
Oh really when?I mean, the Federation's main tank seems to be a not-Sherman, while the main Gallian tank is a not-LT vz 38 and most of their VC2 tanks are based on Panzers 1-4, so it would appear that the Federation is likely more advanced.

"and certain... elements... seem to be missing from the announcement",
they mean the Steam version for the western release I assume.

As much as Fencers didn't make sense for the setting, they (and armoured techs) were pretty needed for a gameplay balance.
And hey, you could always say that their shields were made out of spent ragnite or something.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Any news about whether VC 4 will come to PC?
Give me cute or give me...something?If there is a PC release it hasn't been mentioned yet.
Oh really when?Nothing concrete but the people responsible for the Steam port are giving unsubtle hints that there might be an PC port announcement when they announce the western release dates.
New Valkyria Chronicles 4 Info
- The game is 90%done.
- Squad E's is tank is named the Hafen, and is a mid-sized tank made by the United States of Vienland, the VC version of the USA. Unlike it's Federation counterparts, the Hafen excels in firepower and mobility, but lacks defense.
- The Six classes in the game are Scouts, Shocktroopers, Lancers, Engineers, Snipers and Grenadiers.
- Grenadiers use mortars that shoot from afar in a high arc that allows their attacks to bypass most cover, which is why it is best to scout ahead for enemies first. They are very strong against both tanks and infantry but cannot attack enemies that are at a close range.
So the tank is essentially an M4 Sherman. Certainly does share a resemblance, though the tracks seem exaggerated.
And it has the same odd mantlet as the Edelweiss. Still basically a Sherman, right down to the suspension, unlike Imperial tanks, which are more like Soviet tanks (light ~= BT series with a mortar turret, medium ~= T-28, heavy is the bastard child of a Sturmtiger (the hull mortar more resembles that of a Sturmtiger than that of a Char b1), Char b1 (overall layout) and a KV-1 (dimensions, turret, and gun caliber) (with its VC3 version going full KV-1, IIRC), tank destroyer is a mashup of several closed-hull tank destroyers (gun is the same as SU-85, gun postion is the same as Hetzer, overall layout is basically Jagdpanther), and the Lupus is basically a rear-turret IS-2) with alternate suspensions and ridonkulous grousers
Yet another marine reference with the tank's name being German for "harbor". Seems like the theory that Squad E's HQ will be a ship might be true.
Sounds like Grenadiers are just renamed Mortarers.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Essentially but I don't mind them being a standalone class, it always was awkward to turn your Anti-Tank units into anti-infrantry.
It's not that I mind them splitting the two classes up, I'm perfectly fine with it.
It's just odd that they felt the need to rename them. (It did make sense to me to have lancers become mortarers, because they both wore the same blast-proof armour)

If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. My greatest worry is that between Grenadiers and Snipers one will obsolete the other.
Well, if my assumption on Grenadiers being renamed Mortarers is correct, that won't be an issue.
Snipers were used to pick off people you could see. At all.
Mortarers were used to clear out camps of enemy troops, not necessarily killing them, but allowing you to claim the camp so you could summon close range units like fencers and gunners to clean up and hold the line, respectively.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Seems like it will boil down to the map/mission design giving a good mix of both elite targets for snipers and enemy clusters for mortars. Since they go back to big unified maps like VC 1 I think that we can at least expect the later.

Actually, thinking about it and looking at the page myself, they might be more similar to an infantry version of the Artillery turrets in VC 2 I never used, because I'd rather use the CP to send in troops than target an area that'll probably be empty by next turn.
It'll be easier to figure these things out with actual gameplay footage.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Ugh, pretty much every gameplay change in Valkyria Chronicles Remastered can go fuck itself. The extra long enemy interception fire is bullshit (if my guys also got an extra full mag dump, I'd be okay with this, but this is blatant My Rules Are Not Your Rules) especially when trying to flank tanks, which keep firing extremely rapidly. And based on the massive clipping, I'm pretty sure they game the Imperial Medium Tank's interception turret an extra ~20 degrees of travel to each side, making Jann's challenge map even harder than it needed to be. The only mitigating factor on this bullshit is the incredible power of the ZM Kar 8(g).
EDIT: Phew, 16 turns and something like an hour and a half later, I got the stupid Imperial lance, though I seem to have been denied my anti-tank rifle. But you know what? IDGAF. I'm not doing that mission again without the absolute best gear in the game. And maybe not even then, seeing as I don't need to do it for the Randgriz Crest of Honor, which only requires A-ranking all non-DLC missions, and I know from experience that I can do that on all regular difficulties.

Ah, the return of Badolf Schmitler.
