Oh yeah, PC emulates them all... so, retro gamers can just use their computers if they're that sneaky.

Well, we don't remember games for using C++ or what the name of the hex codes are or how the graphics were bitmapped... we like the characters, music, story, and worlds dang it. =B

"I would be mildly curious about a game that sold itself as being "two buttons and the truth". I wonder what that truth would be, and how it would be presented."
Wasn't the Wii originally based upon that idea until they introduced the Nunchuk attachment?
Prince of Darkness
True, but not everyone really cares about them... Some even have preached that those things "ruined" gaming (which is a crock of bull), and all I ever hear about is how this current gen is the worst of the bunch.

Yeah, I missed the pretentious part, but certainly "two buttons" was Nintendo's remarks about how so many buttons on controllers nowadays overcomplicates games and "the truth" was simplifying games to be more intuitive. Concerning your definition, though, I heard that La Mulana was designed as a Take That towards newer generations of gamers. Also, tangentially related, No More Heroes referred to itself as a "punk game".

![]() Nothing of relevance, that's for sure, but that doesn't mean that we can't have a direction in our conversational ramblings, right?

No, but I do remember why I said the stuff, I was just saying it because I don't buy a game for the graphics and power like some people do.

"Well one perk of owning a PS 3 is that you can still play PS 2 games which are still being made IIRC. That and avoiding the Red Ring Of Death."
But the versions of the PS 3 that can do that don't do it very well. At least for the games I play.
*hugs his PS2s and PS1 that he uses for one game that doesn't work right on a PS2*

I hate the PS 3 for being hard to develop for and basically killing the momentum of the PS 2 and all its franchises.
Mou...
I might consider one if it (and its games) weren't so prohibitively expensive. I know there aren't many games for it that don't find their way onto the other consoles, but I hate hate hate the Xbox gamepad.

My PS 3 seems to emulate the PS 2 games I still care about, but it was the early top-of-the-line model. They got progressively worse at it with time as Sony made them cheaper.
You do come up with interesting ways to kill people ...

Xbox 360 blows for 2D gaming if you aren't willing to invest in a third-party gamepad or an arcade stick.

Please, I come to this forum to get away from console debates. As much as anything about consoles comes close to a "debate".
Sorry, I am grouchy today. And I do come to this forum for other things as well.
