Cancellation doesn't make a lot of sense to me given that it was still selling well but unless his health was becoming a severe issue there doesn't seem to be another reasonable explanation given how sudden the ending was.
Sadly, even a moderate hit sometimes doesn't cut it when the higher-ups are expecting a mega-hit.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."And the whole world wept.
I feel like the last page of the last chapter should've been "THE END." Just a whole page with "THE END" in the middle.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."If he cut his work short, do you think it's because he was broken?
BROTHER KUBO, I KNEW YOU'D COME.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI think Jump is what's Broken. They're the ones that deleted him.
But Kubo will rise again. And Oda will be his obsolete mule.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."If he's gonna rise it's probably gonna be in Ultra Jump or Jump Square. Pretty sure he's done with weekly series.
Or he could not, I could understand him being burnt out period and just wanting to rest.

I know he talked about going into fashion as a hypothetical career path once Bleach ended. It'll be really interesting to see what he does from here.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Couch and chair design.
I do hope he goes into fashion, though.
It'd be funny, 30 years from now, to see Hirohiko Araki name a JJBA character after Kubo, not as a mangaka, but as a fashion designer.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyHe has commented (either at the beginning of this year or some time during last year, can't remember exactly when it was) that he does have ideas for other manga. Don't know any more than that.
It's interesting that so many manga artists commenting on the end of Bleach not only wished him all the best, but told him to rest up and look after his health.
Now it could be that's simply because the manga artists all know just how horrendous the weekly manga writing schedule is, but it does remind me of the fact that Kubo has spent a lot of time in hospital over the past several years (he's mentioned recurring pneumonia, but I don't know if all his hospitalisations are because of that).
The well wishes could be interpreted in two ways as a result. Truth is, we'll probably never know. Many Japanese people are still very discreet about these things.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.I suppose that, while burnout and lower sales wouldn't have sunk the series independently, on their own, combined they still made enough of a factor to end Bleach.
Read it. Quite disappointing.
Hopefully we get some data books to fill shit out.
It's hard to make a living in media/entertainment. Only the stars get rich, while most struggle to eek out a middle-class living, wary of losing their jobs to the new talent. It's the same whether you're in manga, acting, or sports.
The only manga I read right now are:
Attack on Titan
Vinland Saga
Berserk
Manga for the most part is uninteresting to me now.
I prefer a good book.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."There actually a lot of decent to pretty great manga that are already complete and so don't really mandate one to keep up with anything. I know that there's a bunch of those on my backlog as it is, in addition to all the stuff i'm currently following, so I'm pretty good on manga for the foreseeable future.

I'd like to come up with at least one new weekly to keep up with and replace Bleach, but i'd have to catch up all the way first, which is a little daunting.
How far along is Boku no Hero Academia?
Just about reached 100 chapters
Next chapter is 105, actually. It's very good.
I read plenty of manga.
Funny enough, I was worried Bleach would be my end of manga but I still have plenty
Azumi - which is updated every once in awhile and has a sequel series
Gintama - Which is ending... yet its easily my favorite manga period
My Hero Academia - Took me awhile, but its okay so far... I do want more of Mt. Lady (and to mount that lady, if you catch my drift)
Boku Girl
Vinland Saga
Attack on Titan
Akame ga Kill - ... which is also ending
Toriko - ... which is also ending
The Promised Neverland - seems quite promising (no pun intended) so far, and only 3 chapters in
One-Punch Man
Mob Psycho 100 - Because my friend got me into it and the opening is just so bloody catchy
I would say One Piece and Dragonball Super... but OP hasn't been as exciting since the Whitebeard arc and Super... just... honestly, especially now with Super Saiyan ROSE. FREAKING ROSE never really made me want to follow it

If only they had ninshu, Naruto could show Bort his own childhood to stop him being such a little bitch. - IronypusHey, at least your manga update every week nearly. Waiting a month for a single chapter of Jojo is painful ;-;
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!Okay, it's Super Saiyan Rosé, get it right. >.>
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!I don't really have a problem with it honestly. I mean it would be cool to get more Jojo sooner but since it's led to a big increase in the writing quality and scope of the stories I really have no complaints. I'd rather binge-read a masterpiece than keep up with something that's entertaining week-to-week but is just ok when finished :p
As a Berserk fan though I empathize with the feeling of agonizing waits.
Who is Rose? God-DAMMIT. This is the most disappointed I've been with Japan since I saw the What Culture Wrestling video on Japanese deathmatches. ...an hour ago.
Also, Toriko's already ending? Well that was fast.

The sad, REAL American dichotomy
This may just be my opinion, but I think a cancellation is more likely - an author choosing to cut their work short would probably do it with a bit more finesse.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."
