@Alekos: Ichigo's Hollow and Soul Reaper powers are inseperable because his hollow is his sword spirit along with Quincy powers Zangetsu.

Taking them away would remove those as well.

Finally, this manga is ending.

This final arc has dragged out for years now, worse then the shinobi world war.

Now I can focus on Toriko and Boku No Hero Academia in full after this ends.

Isshin and ryuuka not not helping their kids made this very anti climatic for me.

Is that the guy who did Negima and now UQ Holder?

That still seems like a weird sentiment to me because you're including Toriko.

Toriko just got a new editor, so it's not going away anytime soon.

It certainly feels like it does. And also I don't see Toriko as particularly better written than Bleach. All things considered, it's probably worse, it just masks it with being ridiculously over the top.

This may be a slight misread of the translation, but I honestly find the idea hilarious that though the villain has already won, he's content to use his power to change the future to wait until anyone who has stood against him is at their happiest day, then bring it all down around them, just to be an asshole.

No that's pretty in character with Yhwach. He's a dick afterall.

I'm interested to see his vision for the world.

And Toriko is better because it's straightforward and to the point, and I prefer the characters, too.

But seeing as this isn't the Toriko thread I'll leave it at that. Honestly, I probably shouldn't have brought it up at all.

Yes, because it's all about capturing the most badass ingredients on the planet filled to the brim with muscles akin to 80's Shonen, with the craziness that comes with it, and eating them for dinner.

On Bleach, I feel like this honestly should have ended with Aizen at this point, because this is getting to ridiculous and stupid for its own good, and not in the fun way like Toriko or Jojos Bizarre Adventure.

I have something to say on that but I'll say it in the Toriko thread. Suffice it to say Toriko being "stupid fun" is, yeah. It's worse at that than One Piece, and I often hate it in One Piece.

But as far as things not having a point, the point is beating Yhwach. That's been the clear point for a very long time.

"Stupid Fun" has its place, I think. I tend to call it "the best kind of ridiculous". I can accept that things won't make perfect sense as long as it's entertaining enough to watch or read. It's probably where some of my own issues with Bleach lie. It doesn't possess the level of entertainment I need to be able to forgive or ignore the flaws in the story.

Yeah, stupid fun has it's place. Toriko just gives me the impression it wants to be more than that while failing miserably.

@Long final arcs:

• Naruto: chapter 484(2010 24/2) to 700(2014 6/11)
• Bleach: chapter 480(2012 7/2) to now/680(2016 30/6)

Kubo took more breaks IIRC(wasn't there a 8 week hiatus before 480?) but it's kind of sad that both the final war arcs took over 4 years each.

Toriko isn't so much stupid fun as it is 'Crazy Awesome' or 'Stupid Awesome', it's practically built upon building hype and delivering it in crazy attacks with space-panel shots and planet-shaking moves. It's the main strength of that series and why it still has some fans which is nice.

Back on the Bleach topic, anyone else feel Yhwach's threat at the end of the chapter is some serious Nightmare fuel? Narmy though he is, having Yhwach threaten to slaughter them at any moment in the future when they're at their happiest is terrifying.

And still I'm left wondering why he feels he needs all this power. And he definitely thinks he needs it because he said now that he has it he doesn't need anyone else.

And he just left Ichigo alive. Weird.

Then again he did take everything from Ichigo he wanted so he probably views it as Cruel Mercy since Ichigo's arrogance cost him the two things he got from his mom and it would be more dickish to leave him alive.

I've heard the chapters under the ink for the end is ten. Not sure if it's true.
