"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I hope it'll behave like an update once it isn't in beta anymore...

Finally changed my Iron Golem killer to lava instead of squash. And mistakenly shift-rightclicked in front of the hopper. Owowowowow. Didn't die, had an water stream underneath. But lost some bit of durability on the iron armor.
Morale: Always drink fire potions before dealing with lava. Which I'm pretty sure I won't follow.

Can't you use cactus? I've seen some good ones using it.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."x4: I have a feeling it won't be, else they wouldn't call it the Windows 10 version. That said, except for things that rely on Windows 10 features, they'll probably adapt new things into the other versions, like they're doing with the Ender Dragon fight in 1.9. Technically the Xbox One version can already do what the in game DVR will do, though that's an Xbox feature not a Console version feature.
I don't think cactus damages as much as lava.
The Windows 10 edition is to be a port of the Pocket Edition, like the HoloLens edition. They are even suppose to be updated together.

So does this mean there won't be any more updates for the current PC version? I mean since windows 10 should be able to run the current PC version without a problem.

Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked. No, it doesn't. AFAIK, Jeb is the only dev that works on more than one version of the game (pocket, sometimes PC). Dinnerbone just works on PC, and 1.9 info keeps being released.
Yo yo yo I did tooketh some screenshots of 1.9's new preview. Take a peek!

H.B. WardDoes that shield have a banner pattern on it?!?
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked. You know, I did vaguely suspect that it would have extra crafting for patterns, but I never considered that it might be directly connected to banners.
H.B. WardI guarantee that that pattern can be made on banners. I've made ones more complicated than that.
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked.Yeah, but... Are we going to attach banners to our shields now?
H.B. WardLooking really sweet.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Daawwwwww thank you!
H.B. WardI don't know about you but I've had a banner that's perfect for my shields ever since banners were put into the game.

Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked. Is that that Ender Brick I've read about?
Eh, I'm more interested in the shields. I practically never play anymore, but I still like new stuff.
Is minecraft down for anyone else?
It's working for me.
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked.Tropies and Tropermen, I have a fantastic idea that will make completing monuments in CTM maps completely foolproof and impossible to cheat for a player in standard survival mode.
I'm going to assume everybody knows how that hopper system works; you know the one where it only accepts a specific item and then gives off a redstone signal when it enters. I'll call this the Hopper Lock.
So, with all that done, all you need to do is have the monument activated by a bunch of Hopper Locks (one for each "wool") which can only accept enchanted items that stack; which can't be created by the player of the map. This way, the player can't cheat by crafting wool and placing it, or even by making the items they need after watching somebody else's playthrough and stuffing them down the holes.
In short, replace putting wools on the monument, with making things appear on the monument behind an invisible barrier by having the player drop specific items down a hole.
H.B. WardI don't really understand the point of something so elaborate to prevent cheating. If they don't want to play the map they don't want to play the map. People looking to legitimately clear it won't resort to cheats.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I have seen the dual wield feature in action and it's amazing.

redwhitenblue runs a mostly vanilla server which is currently on minecraft version 1.7.2 (compatible with client versions up to 1.7.5). It has a few survival based bukkit plugins, such as MCMMO and Chest Shops.
