There we go, just ran "Sickness" in Google translation to keep the latin tone going for Absolutus, and along the many result there was "Languor".

Sounds great if you ask me.

Huh, I found a little stream of black liquid of some sort in the desert sorta near my house. :o

Also do creatures spawn on grass regardless of where it is? :/

That's Oil, for Buildcraft. It can be used in a Combustion engine or refined into the more efficient Fuel form.

(Thaumcraft) So should I try building a crystal farm? :o

Only if you have a crystalline bell. A crystal farm requires at minimum 9 of each crystal to make a single crystal ore, and they max their bushels out at 5. The bell lets you harvest crystals 1 at a time. Always remember to leave one behind, though.

Oh okay. :3 So a farm is really useful, but only when you've got everything set up?

Also, do I have to worry much about taint or my tank filling up with it when I'm starting Thaumaturgy?

Well, you should do some research and dungeon diving first. the Crucible isn't that efficient at getting Vis, as half of the vis in an object is converted to taint. You want to research a bunch of rocks and stuff until you get the theory for the Crucible of Eyes, and then the Thaumium crucible. Each are more efficient and hold more vis before overflowing.

If your tank is almost completely dark purple while full, you'll do less damage to the environment by breaking it open, as when it explodes, it spreads more taint and taints the ground as well. At 450 taint, your tank will start having a chance to explode at any given moment. But 450 taint in the local aura is not that much of a concern.

Hey guys, so I'm doing a presentation on Minecraft for class next week and I'm working on the powerpoint currently. Because my section focuses on graphics, I want some screenshots of nice, larger-scale builds, namely vanilla ones, that people have done. Figured I'd ask here on top of other efforts.

You can post them or PM them...either way.

[up]You are much better off pumping the taint out with valves and a filter stack than breaking the tank. See the above link to my Thaumcraft explaination for how I did it.

[down]You want the q-block ASAP because of the time it takes. You can stick your stacks of extra digging material in it for the small chance of generating knowledge fragments while you gather other stuff.

Oh okay. :o So I gotta build a Quaesitorium or whatever then? :3

A lot of this stuff seems to be for once you've got things set vanilla-style. :o

^ Ooh, neat! :D

Also I'm having fun reading the Taint Science thread on the Thaumcraft Wiki.

As for the buildings, here's one of a Cathedral I built. It's only partially done mind you.

@Thaumcraft: Paper makes really good fuel for Quaesitiums. For vis production, the first thing you make in your infuser should be an arcane furnace, which you want to put under your crucible. Whenever the arcane furnace has fuel, it'll burn it to improve the efficiency of the crucible (you can pause the furnace's fuel consumption with a redstone current). Don't attach filters to your taint tank until you've made at least three or four, and only use cheapish materials like sugar cane or leaves in the basic crucible, as it's fairly good for vis without any risk of overflowing.

Where can I get an older version of Minecraft? I'm interested in Terrafirmacraft, but it has yet to update (and I'm not too sure it will).

Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.

You can use MC Nostalgia to downgrade your Minecraft version. Just download and run the launcher then select the version to downgrade to.

Actually, on looking up Terrafirmacraft, it seems to be updated to 1.3.2.

Now that I've got some time on my hands again, I'd like to expand on my little frozen cottage. I'm undecided whether I should build upwards and try to make like an organic structure that stretches into the sky, or if I should go for a more historically inspired setup and build longhouses and stuff like that.

...whatever I make, it'll be made out of wood, though.

[up]Keep it cool, cover it in water and only add uranium if you're sure it won't overheat. I've managed to vaporise two bases through inattention.

Also, anyone built a XP grinder on Iacon yet? I want to enchant a bunch of stuff but I haven't the resources to make a decent one of my own yet.

If you are a noob at reactors, make LOTS of reenforced stone and make a bunker of at least two, possibly three layers, around a running reactor. I know when I was playing Feed the Beast, even using someone else's design, I made noob mistakes and made it go boom several times (although I also resorted to Save Scumming because my controll mechanisms would unavoidably be destroyed in the boom). Reenforced stone will prevent your noob-induced "booms" from becoming noob-induced giant craters where your base used to be.

And read the IC 2 forums/watch videos for instructions on how they work before trying to do it yourself. It's complicated.
