Cliffy B will be on Jimmy Fallon on April 8 to unveil a new Xbox 360 game.
Gee, wasn't there A RUMOR about a Gears 3 teaser on April 8? Hmmm?
Jonah FalconCliffy B has delayed his Jimmy Fallon appearance for a week.
More evidence is mounting for Go W 3, tho.
Jonah FalconGamespy has posted 24 new Gears Of War 3 screenshots.
Jonah FalconI have been Tainted by the Preview in regards to Karen Traviss writing the story.
What's the frequency Kenneth?|In case of war.Looks like the main enemy is now the Lambent-infected, not the Locust. Seems like a mix between Halo's gravemind and Mass Effect's husks.
After struggling to get into Gears 1 and rather enjoying Gears 2. I reckon this could easily be the best of the lot. The trailer and some of the articles on it seem to confirm this, although I don't want to fall victim to Hype Backlash.
But with Karen Traviss writing the story, I dunno. That makes my head hurt, or am I just dehydrated?
"Assimilate This!"The Beast Mode announced seems sick-awesome
With each Gears of War game I find it simple improves upon the previous one, at least in terms of gameplay. More weapons, more features, more variety to the missions. Gears 2 rocked in every regard except for multiplayer, which CliffyB has acknowledged.
Gears 3 looks to do the exact same thing. More features (Powered Armor, vaulting barrier kicks, meat shield mines) more weapons (old school lancer, double barrel shotgun, that new boomer pistol that looks like a smaller boomshot) and new enemy types (those crabs, lambent mutations).
And I don't know about you guys, but lambent Berzerker looks to be And The Fandom Rejoiced.
At this point it's official, I heavily suspected it after fighting Zerglings Wretches and Scourges Nemacyst in Gears 1 (not to mention how the horde operates, moves around, and carries themselves), and was convinced when Kerrigan Myrrah showed up in Gears 2, but now there's no denying it.
The guys who made Gears are big fans of Starcraft. At least someone up there is, from all the Starcraft influence I'm seeing.
Actually, there's another theoretical reason for that (involving a development-era Follow the Leader after Starcraft: Ghost, leaving Gears the main/only game of it's type with such elements after Ghost's cancellation, and paving the way for games like Resistance: Fall Of Man), but this explanation's much more fun.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The guys at Epic are channeling Saturday Night Live.
Players can decide whether C. Carmine lives or dies by buying T-shirts.
You can buy them at the SD Comic Con or online.
The money from the T-Shirts goes to the Child's Play charity.
I want C. Carmine to live. All his brothers die, why not one survive?
Jonah FalconCall me pessimistic, but the inclusion of the Locust arm-rip this time around makes me imagine they excluded it from Gears 2 specifically so they could include it in Gears 3.
Worshipper of Ahura Mazda, as proclaimed by Zoroadster http://twitter.com/bpglobalprI am making this post merely to state Claudia Black is voicing a playable character in the game called Samantha Byrne.
Yay!
I am also preview-tainted with the knowledge of Karen Traviss having anything to do with the game. I wonder how much her beloved Pesanga will steal the show, or if the developers are overruling her narrative in favour of something that actually showcases the characters we know and... know.
I am also unimpressed by any characters. The designers tried way too hard to make the characters "hardcore." I have absolutely no idea if any of the characters grow or change during either game. Marcus is just a scowl and a gun. Dom's "WHERE'S MY WIIIIFE!!one!11" plot in GoW2 did nothing for me because I found no set-up in the first game. Baird is a snarky guy with goggles. Cole is Uncle Tomfoolery with a big gun and a big mouth. That's all there is to these guys.
I don't even care what happens to Red Shirt With a Speaking Role #3.
My Blog | My Steam profileYou found no set up in the first game? Dom couldn't stop bleating about his wife in it.
Jonah Falcon^I don't recall him mentioning it frequently in the first game, but Franklin did tell Dom didn't have "any word on the lady" when he saw him.
There is a certain YMMV on how well they portrayed Dom in Gears 2, but I thought the game gave a better look into Marcus and his personality. He's the standard Guttoral Growler badass protagonist, but because he is a man of few words and few emotions it makes the little touches stand out more. The way he consoles Dom when he finds Maria was damn near perfect and the look of worry he had that Anya was missing does more than any soliloquy could.
Game Informer this month has an article on the new features of the game. Basically the customization talked about is mostly cosmetic: weapon appearances, clothing (including Coles thrashball uniform) and strange "mutations," whatever that means. It is directly tied into leveling up, so you unlock these things depending on how much you play. Cliffy B all but referenced Modern Warfare in talking about not giving you better weapons available as you level up.
Oh yeah, and there is going to be a Gears 3 multiplayer beta early next year.
Mutations = lambent-ized creatures.
Jonah Falconi might get this one but after having being cheated in MP(i think) in the first one i might not. my friend wants to start a team based off of it
