Several random notes here:

How many Final Boss tracks do you guys have? I'm up to 18: -deep breath- Kirby's Adventure, Kirby Super Star, Kirby 64, Super Mario Galaxy, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Super Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, M&L: Bowser's Inside Story, Cave Story, Ristar, Yoshi's Island, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Riders, Sonic 2006, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, Super Smash Bros, and Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Anyone remember Frogger 3D  *

for the PS1? I had the PC version, and it was probably one of the first games I ever played (besides Lemmings), so this music is very nostalgic to me.

There are still a few soundtracks I have yet to find. If anyone could help me, that'd be great  *

:
  • Mega Man 9
  • No More Heroes
  • Donkey Kong Country 3 GBA
  • Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
    • possibly Heart Gold/Soul Silver, once I actually listen to the soundtrack.
  • Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap

...and that's all I can think of at the moment.

I've got upwards of +50 Final Boss songs. I'm much too lazy to count them all. tongue

Also, I've got the Megaman 9 soundtrack right now and I'm putting it on Megaupload, so I'll give it to you once I'm done. And I'll see if I can do the same for the other soundtracks.

Here ya go: Megaman 9 OST, uploaded by yours truly.

Donkey Kong Country 3 GBA.

Pokemon D/P.

HG/SS.

Thanks a bunch. -testing it out with the MM 9 soundtrack- Here's hoping this works...

EDIT: Uh... it's not working; I don't know how to use .rar files.

EDIT 2: -to below- Say what?  *

Also, why does it all show up as one file?

WinRAR is the best for that.

.rar is a type of zip file, to put it simply. Just like you use Winzip to unzip things, you can use WinRAR to take things out of RAR format.

Ah, yes. I should have elaborated on that, huh? My bad.

That said, 7-Zip can work with .rar files as well, just not as efficiently as WinRAR.

THERE IS NO MISTAKE HERE MOVE ALONG.

I don't really have playlists. I just mash the next button until a song I feel like listening to comes up.

Get 7-zip. It's open-source, it lets you work with more file types (I think), and it's free.

After downloading the trial version of WinRAR, then fiddling with it for a while, I finally got the MM9 soundtrack to work properly. On to the next one!

I'm with Ray on this one, I just hit "next" until something I like pops up.

And since my dad pre-loaded the laptop with a bunch of other music, that can take a while.

I've got around 75 final boss tracks, so I think it's probably best for everyone's sanity that I don't try to list 'em all. Here are some of my favorites, though:

The Extreme (Final Fantasy VIII), The Battle for Everyone's Soul (Persona 3), The Genesis (Persona 4), Battle! Champion (Pokemon D/P, although I'd have felt perfectly fine with Cynthia's Theme as the final boss theme ^^), and Imbroglio (Shadow Hearts).

Also, bwahaha HG/SS soundtrack! *snags*

But somehow,

Battle! Champion (Pokemon D/P)

That's ironic. Guess which song I just downloaded/am listening to right now?

I'm going to wait on the HG/SS soundtrack, so I can actually listen to it and see which songs I like.

Also, http://media.sonicstadium.org/Music%20and%20Soundtracks/

An index filled to the brim with pretty much every Sonic OST you could ask for.

Anyways, I'm sifting through the various Megaman soundtracks, and...meh.

Maybe I'm just not a big fan of the whole electronic sound they've got going, but I'm not really all that impressed. Sure there are a few gems in the series, but otherwise I'm kinda dissapointed.

I was pretty surprised to see Toshihiko Horiyama as a composer, though.

What Final boss tracks do I have? Well, a whole hell of a lot.

Since my truck just has a CD player, I like to burn C Ds. One I call the Boss Track, though I keep reorganizing the music on it.

Let's see, what are some choice boss melodies do I have?

The aforementioned severing the chains of fate and Judgement day.

Pretty much every final boss tune from the Advance Wars series. Sturm's theme, Von Bolt's theme, and my personal favorite, Caulder's theme, AKA Puppet Master.

For some underappreciated boss themes, I give you the Mission Impossible soundalike from Lethal Enforcers called Dead or Alive. The version I have sounds a bit better than the Genesis version, but not nearly as fancy as the Sega CD, and it isn't the SNES version... seems I have an enhanced Genesis version.

As well, some of the Boss tunes from the old Simpsons Arcade game were quite awesome as well. The Goons, The Bear, and the first level boss, The Wrestler, Which reminds me of Rawk Hawk Rock.

Let's see... The Boss track from Rocket Knight Adventures, the Boss music from Lunar 2: Eternal blue, and Falling from Earthworm Jim.

Here's an obscure one: Something's wrong from the old Apogee shooter Major Stryker. No Youtube link, but you can listen to it on this playlist here. Fourth tune in the list.

Ooh, La Mulana also has some kickass music. Unfortunately, I can't find the enhanced remixes on Youtube. Fortunately, two of the boss tunes I think sound better in old-school MSX style. Giant's Rage and Dangerous Raid. You can download the enhanced remixes here, and my two favorite enhanced boss tunes are King Konda and Interstice of the Dimension. Especially that last tune. Absolutely rocking!

I'm pretty sure I've gone over my favorite Castlevania boss tunes, but since this post is getting overly long, I'll just post my top two picks: Creatures In The Depth, and Piercing Silence.

Don't take life too seriously. It's only a temporary situation.

Console fanboys all of you. tongue

Why no love for Duke Nukem 3D? Everyone loves this game but few people even mention the soundtrack. Sounds even better with WinGroove installed.

As for the Disney's Aladdin videogame, everyone just talk about the music from the SNES version. Yet no one bother to mention the PC version, which has far superior-sounding tunes.

And if you like exciting boss music then you have this shameless self-promotion.

This probably isn't the best idea, seeing how few games use real instruments or synth with a recognizable equivalent. That said...
