It's cute that for a second Diabetus actually thought there were testers.
Having been a fan of Two Best Friends/Super Best Friends for years I've heard a few anecdotes about the video game testing scene, since several of the group are, or were, testers. Apparently the people who actually work on the game may not even listen to their testers at all, which completely defeats the purpose of having testers at all. Obviously this is the sort of thing that would vary from one studio to the next, but I wouldn't be surprised if all the testers for Sonic 06 kept telling Sonic Team everything that was wrong with the game and Sonic Team straight up ignored them.

I mean, they literally fired their entire QA team during production of this game, so there were testers at one point, just not through to the end.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. They cut corners like fuck in order to rush the game out to meet a Holiday deadline. That almost never works and in the end, Sonic 06 became the ur-example of why rushing a game will almost always result in disaster.
Although granted Sonic 2 was also rushed to a degree and that's one of the best games of all time.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowYou know what else had rushed production? Super Mario World. Yeah.
Granted, though, it's not necessarily fair to compare a 2-D platformer with only really tiny, visual gag sprite-based cutscenes to a 20-hour 3-D platformer with voice acting, some semblance of a plot, tons of different music, etc.
Lots of good games were rushed out the door. My favorite JRPG of all time was one of the most rushed. That doesn't mean they couldn't of been better if the developers had given them more time.
Sonic games being rushed has been common since the second game and frankly it's fucking amazing it took so long to eventually bite them in the ass. For example, Sonic 3 is a literally incomplete game with a jaw-dropping amount of glitches, bugs and oversights.
Being rushed explains the horrible glitches, but 06 has a lot of really terrible design decisions as well.
I actually didn't know that about some of those games.
Maybe I shoulda said "Sonic 06 is an example of the bad side of rushing games"
Sonic 3 is really good though if you lock it onto Knuckles.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowIt's overrated. Good, but overrated.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Nope.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.At least we can agree that both 2 and 3&K are better than the first one and also CD.
To be fair, Sonic 1 is only really a good game if you look at it in the context of when it was released. It's kind of eh in hindsight. I mean, really? You go from free as free gets to "navigate slow dungeon"?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I can! I Ts really good.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI mean, yeah, its soundtrack is pretty good, but it's a Sonic soundtrack—bad soundtracks are the exception there.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I said "bad soundtracks are the exception."
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I really think people overstate how much worse 06 is than other Sonic games.
I mean, I love Adventure and Adventure 2 to death, but trying to play them now? Basically the exact same experience as 06 without the loading screens.
I don't think 3D Sonic games were actually good until Colors. Maybe Unleashed.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Yeah, I do too. But they have basically all the problems 06 does. Bad writing, shitty controls, poorly designed levels.
The only thing they have going for them is nostalgia, which is fine, but I'm sure there are some people who played 06 as kids and will defend it just as fervently as other Sonic fans defend the Adventure game,
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
I do not understand how a game could be so terrible. Game-breaking glitches are understandable given that the game was rushed, but there are so many terrible ideas: absurdly long stages, mach speed, the non-hedgehog characters are boring, control horribly, and are largely pointless, Silver.
What the hell was Sonic Team even thinking?
