Well, obviously, it was a better time to post chapter 42, rather than chapter 41.

Interesting power, even more so, because I was actually thinking about something similar this week (isn't timing, rather, the guy knows what is the best movement to do next), with pretty much the same limitations.

So, the good guys are planning and we are seeing they plans coming to birth, there are two (if you count Nathan, three) new powerful witches in they group, things look much more positive now.

Well, that means that whatever they are planning is go to go wrong, but how?

I do not like the Unspoken Plan Guarantee trope one bit.

Yeah, it's sort of odd how a trope that's meant to make things more ambiguous instead makes things less ambiguous because it's so obvious.

Except, of course, you're making it more ambiguous by implying it won't come up.

...italics.

"The Denali triplets spent more than seven centuries (don't know they age, but they are older than Carlisle) without finding one.

though, I guess it happens more easily today, where comunication and travel makes easier to vampires to comunicate and travel to find out."

Also, vampires by their nature are fairly solitary. The coven stuck together, but A) they're all straight females and B) nomads tend to move quickly and stay off claimed land, by and large. In this case, we're specifically trying to make a mate bond, something that vampires don't appear to do much unless they might run into each other anyway (Ireland).

And Razi's the most skittish vampire in the world, while Pera's invisible most of the time.

[up]A match made in venon. Hellfire burning venon.

Yeah, it's sort of odd how a trope that's meant to make things more ambiguous instead makes things less ambiguous because it's so obvious.

You can say that to almost all tropes when you think about it.

Meaningful Name, Chekhov's Gun, and any tropes about stereotypes are designed to make things more obvious. I think I could also make a case for Deconstructed/Subverted Trope, but I could see not counting those as tropes.

Also, was that intended as venom or were you making a pun based off the Eiffel Tower comment?

Well.. Sure, Why Not?.

 *

EDIT:

Well, while the next chapter isn't out yet, lets talk about.

QUEEN BELLA, OF THE NOBLE AND ANCIENT HOUSE OF CULLEN

or to be more precise, what do you guys think she would change as the ruler of the vampire world?

I think besides the changes in the vegetarian laws, her gonvernement would be more active in assisting vampires, rather than only coming around to give punishment I could she do stuff like a adjustement programs for newborns and all kinds of socialist stuff that would make the GOP lose they minds.

EDIT 2:

When I read the concept that Luminosity was like Methods of Rationality, I though it would have more scientific research, at any rate, I do think that QUEEN BELLA  *

would likely to finance or do herself a lot of research on vampire biology.

Among other things that Bella would do or try:

  • Help newborns to adjust to they new condition.
    • Newborns would be turned under controlled conditions, with ways to cover up they absence, preserving much of they "first life" information as possible.
  • Preserve eggs and sperm from would-be vampires and sperms of vampires, to allow in vitro fertilization later.
    • Arrange to have surrogate mothers  *, to carry the babies, humans mothers with half-vampire babies would be turned like Gianna was.
  • Research in away to make "Vampires Eggs", potentially reversing the vampirization in a single cell, it doesn't sound all that impossible with enough dedication. Similar research with Vampire sperm would take place, but the existence of half-vampires would make it less of a priority. You can guess that Rosalie would be interesting in this research
  • Research in ways to change some vampiric traits including:
    • Ways to subdue the blood thirst, including "True Blood" like blood substitutes, or ways to make the vampires less thirsty
    • A way to make give vampire-like imortality to someone, minus the drawbacks
    • Research on make-up or other ways to make vampires look more human.
  • Provide services like giving new legal identities and others paperworks
  • Provide similar servives to other magical beings
    • Research on Witchs, Werewolves and any other magical creatures if they exist (Broadly, what they are and what makes them tick?).
    • Regulate contact between Werewolves and Vampires, while the wolves are unlikely to accept being ruled by vampires, there is space to diplomatic cooperation
    • Help training Witches before and after turning.

Her new government should also probably provide witchy training prior to and after turning, and monitor/regulate the interaction between vampires and werewolf types (so they don't try to exterminate one another).

It occurs to me that Bella's shield will be very, very helpful in protecting her from any potential assassins. Obviously, she can't shield herself from everything, but she certainly has a head start. Alternatively, wild mass guessshe can work from the shadows and use her shield to protect the 'face' of the government, who may or may not end up being Elspeth.wild mass guess

[up]Good idea on the witches, I edited to include that.

Not suire about Bella being the (wo)man behind the (wo)man, it wouldn't be completely impossible, but I think she already exposed too much her desire to be a ruler to make the subtefurge believable.

[up]I meant how some subjects that we discuss here, appear to show up in the story soon, but I guess this could be only natural storytelling. For example like QUEEN BELLA  *

vs Queen Siobham or vs Queen Elspeth.

edit: Also, things are getting heated up! How fun.

[up]I am not entirely sure if her beauty is that essential in combat, but yes, it would be useful.

Also, not sure if I said that before, it is a little bit late at any rate: wild mass guess Addy is the one that gave the idea to use Marcus's eye and Edward's thumbwild mass guess

At any rate, don't seems like Pera wants to have anything to do with Bella. What are the chances for QUEEN BELLA OF THE NOBLE AND ANCIENT HOUSE OF CULLEN without Pera at her side?

EDIT:

I was thinking, are there purely physical witches? Afton's power looks somehow supernatural in the sense that changes some law of the physics or something. But are there witches (human witches), that are simply strong or fast, or with healing factor or adamatium claws, or whatever that looks less magical and more "biologicaly different"?

Heard the name pronounced ʃəˈvɔːn, but never saw it written down in a form or in a context that made clear it was the written form of that name, and never connected ʃəˈvɔːn to the name spelled Siobhan, presumably.
