This looks like it'll be fun. Although, I'm kind of conflicted. On hand hand, more Persona = Nerdgasm. On the other hand, I was kind of hoping for a more original Mega Ten game for the PSP.

The article I linked to does bring up an interesting point: is the Persona series shifting focus to the PSP? I mean, first the remake of the first game and now this.

Regardless, I intend to buy this.

Before seeing the article: Jesus Christ Atlus, I'm not going to buy this game a third time just because...

After seeing the article: JESUS CHRIST YOU CAN PLAY AS A GIRL AND HAVE EURYDICE AS A PERSONA AND THOSE THINGS IN HER HAIR MAKE THE NEW FEMALE PROTAG LOOK KIND OF LIKE KAFUKA AND THE MALE ELIZABETH LOOKS LIKE VERGIL IF HE WAS A BELLHOP AND OH GOD ATLUS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY PROSTATE.
I don't like the blank space below my posts, yet lack anything interesting or funny to say.

The best damn water.
...Now I want a PSP and that game, just to see what the other half of the game is like. :/

Now I want to get a PSP because I'm one of those strange guys who love playing as girls.

There's a smiley I so wish we had here, but unfortunately don't. Maybe you can get the gist of it by me saying that what you type in to make the smiley (on another forum I go to) is

(colon)look(colon)

That would be my response here.

What is it with Americans and console wars? You see 2 Persona games for the PSP and you think they're shifting focus. (plus the first PSP persona game is a 10 year old PSX game)

I see the same problem for Bamco Tales series; the moment a Tales game appears on a console, topics explode declaring that the studio has switched allegiances.

Because it's a fun thing to get worked up about. It's like therapy, but with more flames. grin

Mm. . . last I checked, Americans are hardly the only group to participate in the console wars.

And on topic: Aw hell, I'm gonna have to buy a PSP, aren't I? Between Persona 1 and this, I'm missing out on too much without it. Of course, that's assuming that it gets a non-Japan release, but surely Atlus wouldn't pull a Squenix on us. . . right?

Also, I'm wondering how they're gonna tie it into the (admittedly sparse) continuity. I mean, Persona 4 already has a preemptive Road Cone with the mention of the "blue-haired boy".

I'm now convinced that there's some sort of vast conspiracy to get me to buy a PSP. If I hadn't already played P3, this would push me over the edge into getting it right away.

Whereas for me, the fact that I've played P3 is actually extra incentive to get one.

1: Hey, let's see what all's been changed!

2: It's based off of FES, and you can control all of your characters individually! Maybe I'll finally finish The Answer!

3: More difficulty levels: in case Hard was just a little too hard for you, but Normal is too easy!

I'm personally more concerned that Atlus hasn't joined the current console gen. We're all chomping at the bit for a new console entry on one of the new systems (and a lot of us are probably graphics-whoring for an HD entry too).

Depending on how extensive the changes are to the P3 PSP, I may pick it up and do it all over again. Though it would have to be rather extensive considering the male MC's role in several romances.

Dating one of the male teammates would rock enough to justify this for me though. And I will totally swoon for Edward.

Is that the name for male!Elizabeth? 'Cause if so. . . Yeah, I think I have to totally agree.

And really, I'm kind of glad that they haven't jumped ahead yet. Largely because I suspect the series is going to end up on the PS 3, and I can't afford another $400 game system.

I have all three consoles this gen, so I'm ready when they are.

Fortunately I have both portables as well, so I'm ready for what they're actually making too.

All my favourite games get PSP versions just now that i buyed one!

Awesome

I actually picked mine up last year due to a big glut of games.

The PSP, in my opinion, was a late bloomer, but its finally coming into its own.

Yes! My PSP is now useful beyond 2 games I own and the Internets.

Hooray for PSP owners. I'm perfectly happy with FES, so I'm not going to be bitter.

I've got plenty of bitterness leftover from them getting Persona 1! grin

Since portable games tend to need to be "pick-up-and-play" sort of deals, I wonder if they'll shorten the fight with Nyx Avatar?

I wonder if they'll keep the Armageddon/Victory Cry combo.

I also wonder if the female main character will retain some of the quirks of the male version, specifically the odd ability to effortlessly run with his hands in his pockets.

The opening. The music is pretty bad, but the animation is VERY AWESOME.
