Disrespecting of one of the funniest members of the community aside, this sketch of Anthrope-tan is turning out to be the best thing I've drawn in a far too long time.

I will likely finish it tomorrow since I prefer to let my drawings sit for a while to let me catch any mistakes that might still lurk.

Or maybe I get antsy and finish it today still. "Today" being two more hours for the German Faw, so, we'll see.

A Furry Trope Tan? Nice Idea, I shall get right on it. I shan't be overshadowed by Faw.

But then who's going to draw Anthropey?

I could try to draw Anthropey, if no one better is available.

If Tropey is Trope-tan's pet, then what are Anthropey and Anthrope-tan?

Sorry, I've been so late about it, but I've been sleeping. Anyway:

But wait, how can a furry be tattooed? Ok, so a fur PATTERN might resemble a tattoo, but c'mon... Fur paint?

Tattoos, like so, do you see?

Ah, Exalted. Nary a tabletop game has been so full of awesome and wtf.

And nary a combat-related game has been so unplayable in combat...

I blame digimon, Leomon in particular for leading me to the Furry Fandom.

Probably has a lot to do with me Being a Lion.

...As a child I found the idea of Leomon and Ogremon being a couple intriguing. This was before I knew the joys of Foe Yay.

I don't think I can really pinpoint what brought me to the fandom. A bit of everything, I suppose. Don't really have a favorite animal, either; they're just all too awesome.

I first discovered the fandom through an online forum that became a roleplaying area through a curious series of events. It started out as a discussion forum for a rather obscure comic.

I was under the impression that it required your character be an anthropomorphic animal of some kind, so I went with it. I'd already come to the conclusion that foxes and me just fit.

'Twas a multitude of factors for I. Big Wolf On Campus was the last straw, got me into wolves, however Sonic The Hedgehog was the gateway drug into the fandom and actually trying to draw them

Which I still am not entirely good with yet...

I doodle Sonic characters because they are fast and easy to sketch in a variety poses. I also doodle other furry related things.

It was SWAT Kats and Road Rovers, way back in the day, that got me interested in anthro animals. My interest waned until a few years ago, when I discovered other people had similar interests and I wasn't entirely crazy.

Now that I think about it, it shouldn't be a surprise that there is a furry fandom. In fact, what surprises me more is that there aren't more, or more that are open. I mean, think about what we've been raised on (Some or most of us):

Arthur, Road Rovers, Thundercats, SWAT Kats, Looney Toons, Sonic The Hedgehog, Big Wolf On Campus, Animaniacs and all it consists of, Mickey Mouse and his gang, Tiny Toons, Silver Hawks, Pokemon, Digimon, Scooby Doo, Jabber Jaw, Yogi Bear, Tom And Jerry, Spongebob Squarepants, Ren And Stimpy, Rockos Modern Life, Cow And Chicken, I Am Weasel, Josie And The Pussycats, Top Cat, the list goes on and on.

Heck, there's even Batman and Spider-Man, two of the biggest and most popular characters of their respective publishers with animal traits and monikers.

We all grew up with animal people as normal as normal people, or thinking that people with animal traits are awesome.

Also it should be noted that animal people or human like animals have long been a part of human myth.

Aaaaand animal-people aren't anywhere near as prevalent in popular culture as they used to be.

I wonder if the fandom has got anything to do with that...

I do sometimes worry that those of us who like Anthros for fetishistic reasons (like me) give the rest of you a bad rap.

I most humbly apologize.
