I really hope I haven't asked this before (blame old age), but how long have you folks been furries in the sense of being aware of the fandom, having a fursona, etc?

14 years for me.

Since late 2006, when The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess came out and I've completed it.

Well I've known about Furries since I was 8 but didn't join the fandom until a few months ago.

I admitted it to myself something like three years ago.

about 5 years now for me.

years and years of wonderful art and porn.

I regret nothing.

I've been a furry since I was 13 or so.

Soooo, that makes 6 years, almost 7.

How long? about a decade, I was 12-13. Many different fursonas, right now just a human furry fan.

Though if I had to pick one, I'm afraid I'd be a bunny.

Hello, I'm here to ask questions again! I'm kind of running out of questions, but I figured out one thing that troubles me with furries. Well, technically scalies, but still.

What is point of giving reptiles hair? I mean, yeah, more human like, but still, whats point of giving non mammals mammal qualities? I can sort of understand breasts(even though I still find that stupid, and creepy if they add nipples... I've had unfortunate of clicking link in this wiki that lead to such picture. Seriously, nipples on reptiles... SO wrong...) because people like boobs, but hair? If you like reptiles so much that you do art of them, why the heck you would think hair looks good on them? You might as well give them chest hair, beard, arm pit hair, etc... Also, from what I've noticed, it seems to be mainly for female "scalies", male ones tend to be "bald" with few exceptions.

For the same reason why many mammal anthros have hair in addition to fur; a lot of visual characterisation in human art comes from hair, and it's hard to convey those ideas without hair.

If I had to take a fursona I'd take the cop-out fursona and say shape-shifter

Something I'd like to know, guys:

I'm planning to commish siekfried again, once he's opening up commission-slots. I'm already thinking of an idea for a book-cover (since I'd like to sell my story as a book once it's finished, sometime in the future), and I want to know if said idea would sound good for you too. I'm planning that the general feel of the cover should be darker... maybe kinda like this promotional artwork for◊ The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, whose use of colors and harsh shadows I find very very appealing. So I thought of all four Main Characters of my story being at the front of this, weapons drawn and looking rather laid back as behind them, in the background, all kinds of creepy shadows and monsters are looming over them.
