I meant the blueish one but the fan speak can work for now. We probably need Fast Eddie to do that.

Waste of Time Story. "It has a plot, but you won't care."

TURN OFF THAT LIGHT!
You sure Flame Bait isn't a better choice with a title like that? Or the cutlist?

That would be a TRS topic. We're trying to stay relatively brief in this thread. If it can't be clearly resolved in a post or three, it needs to go elsewhere.

Periphery Hatedom has the flame bait banner because it has the word Hatedom in the title. Can it be removed?

Won't let me; I think it's automatic. Eddie needs to intervene.

Laughing it up
Just wondering... if it has been duscussed elsewhere, I'm sorry to bother you but... why is Postscript Season considered to be a Subjective trope? If the series has been uncancelled, that's kinda objective right?

I understand that the opinion on whether a Postscript Season was a good idea or not is completely subjective, but the fact that a series came back for an encore seems pretty undisputable to me.

Or did I miss something here?
Everything can be found on the Internet; Except common sense.

The question would be more of how it's used in practice. Have we looked at the examples?

Well, about the Audience Reactions, why are listed:

  • Filler:Filler is simply one episode without relevance to the main plot. This is verificable simply seeing the other episodes.

  • Sequel Series: Is simply one series that is one Sequel.

  • Plot Coupon:One thing that one character need obtain not sounds as one audience reaction.

[up]In this thread Fast Eddie said he was going to transfer everything that had been on the Fan-Speak page, to the Audience Reaction page, and "The ones that should really be in YMMV can be transfered from there."

All the tropes you mentioned are under the "sorting and weeding needed" subheader.

So it's a work in progress, right now.

I got the three that Mag Bas listed.
Ironically, the pursuit of the definition of happiness does not appear to be a happiness-maximizing behavior.
Cosine!
Is Stylistic Suck really YMMV? I'd think the major point of the trope is that the style changes while depicting a Show Within a Show or whatnot. The suck is just the most common way to do so.

That banner on Lampshade Hanging has got to go, unless we really want to move 11 000 examples.

Can anybody explain how or why The Masochism Tango is considered subjective? To me, it looks like this trope is pretty clear-cut...

There are a bunch of tropes that are wrongly classified as subjective because we tried to automate some of it, but we're still trying to get them all sorted.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

And Badass, why is considered subjective? And why Spotlight-Stealing Squad is one Audience Reaction?

Someone is abusing the YMMV page. There is a wiki project about this.

Sorry, the Badass page was me, I was just testing something.

Also, you might want to look through the fanspeak edit history at http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Main.Fan-Speak, the pages that used to be there got the banner, even though like half of them were objectives.

Some confirmed misuses:

More to come when I look though the rest of them, also, it's possible ttha t someone else already mentioned some of them here. Sorry.

Dentaku in the YMMV discussion page:"Is there any reason Scenery Porn is put on this list? The trope is not subjective, but describes deliberate attempts at making elaborate backgrounds. If the only condition seems to be that some people might disagree with a trope, then you might as well put 99% of the wiki on this page."

[up] That's also because it accientally got onto the list I linked to above.

Fandom Nod really shouldn't be a YMMV trope.

Page Action: YMMV Banner 4

What would be the best way to fix the page?
At issue:
YMMV is for items that are reactions of the audience to works and tropes that need a significant judgment call to tell whether they exist objectively or not.

Should these items become members of YMMV?
