The last time we saw him Slick ran into quite a sight. And we're just going to ignore what happened? Where he was? What he saw?

Why does Tats utterly refuse to continue the story with Slick and the mirror? Stop telling the story if you're not going to further it, you stupid hack!

...and here's more fuel for the theory that Tats actually hangs around this forum and reads it. "Oh, so they want to see more of Slick? Why, sure! Happy?"

If you're really reading this, Tats... YOU'RE A HACK. Seriously, you're slowly getting worse than Jay Naylor or Ryan Sohmer.

Interesting that Tats still considers Slick to be the hero of the story, and the main character, yet keeps him out of focus for most of the time.

I suppose that means we are to take the Sisterhood as a full on Spotlight-Stealing Squad, then.

Just because Slick thinks he's still the main character doesn't mean Tats does.

To be honest, to me the comic just feels like another huge "fuck you" to his (former) audience.

... But he was always a main character. The old cast page listed him alongside Monique, Criminy, and Squigly as such.

@ alarkhar Nah. He's long since reached Chris-Chan levels of bad. Only difference is he can draw and for a time Could Write a decent story. Now it's just propaganda and his stand-ins (Yes, I'm calling Xanthe and Monique his Stand-in) beating up or insulting anyone who disagrees with him

Actually, I think almost if not all main characters of this comic could be considered reflections of different sides of Tats' inner life.

I do wonder where this is all supposed to end. What is Tats' ideal world order? Does he believe it can be achieved? What would be his own place in this as a male? Is there even a positive outcome, or is there just a neverending struggle?

If I had to hazard a guess, there would be no end to the struggle.

I mean, just for starters, what struggle does feminism have in the Sinfest world now? They kick The Patriarchy's ass without even trying, they can section off places as Woman Only Zones and no one will really protest, Monique's poetry isn't getting nearly as much vitriol as it was (and given how much her poetry was slamming about half of her audience, said vitriol was rather well deserved.) women can apparently do the same jobs as men and even rise to prominence in them. (Amber is pretty much in charge of her news station outside of corporate demands, Blue is second in command of The Patriarchy, and there's at least one lady working in the factory with Slick and Squig.) Pretty much the only women who can really complain are the Fembots (Who are NOT supposed to be sapient.) and Sapphire who's a stripper (Which is NOT a gender exclusive career. Hello Chipendales.).

Seriously, things are pretty equal between the sexes here, but The Sisterhood are still around and trying to fight something that's not even remotely inclined to oppress them. I'm pretty certain they won't actually be happy till men are subservient to women, and even then they'd still be complaining about how much they're oppressed because men don't have periods.

Edit: ONE area of inequality. The patriarchy doesn't make dudebots for women/gay men. Even then though, none of the women in this place have sex drives to speak of, and the only gay men are in a committed relationship so there is literally no market for that.

I sometimes wonder whether Tats has given himself an "out" ... It's been speculated that the comic switched to Social Justice Warrior mode as a result of Tats taking up with a hard-core radical feminist. If he ever breaks up with this person, perhaps he will find a way to show that the apparent message has been false. Consider:

Why do the fans consider Absinthe to be a "good" character? She's a Devil Girl — how and why did she become one? Why hasn't she rebelled against working for the Devil (as Fuchsia did) if she's as pure and sweet as she's been portrayed? Why did El Diablo choose her to work in the Mansion? She cheerfully runs the "Sell Your Soul" booth. She inveigled Monique into a lesbian affair; why is that somehow better or purer than a heterosexual relationship? She seems to be encouraging Monique to turn her back on Slick and to not tell him of the existence of Sleaze.

So if Tats ever gets dumped by his hypothetical Significant Other, I wouldn't be surprised to see Absinthe revealed as a Mole who has been working for the Big Bad from the beginning to corrupt Monique and torture Slick.

Considering she and the Devil Girl that Bomfed Slick look almost identical you may be on to something...

That's a really tiny pile of leaves to take such a running jump into. I hope Grandma's hips will be okay!

It used to be that you could assume that the Sinfest world used the same season as the real world, but this no longer seems to be the case. It strikes me how hard it is to place things within a logical time frame. The previous comics have all been about people going about their business. Then we have Grandma sweeping up dead leaves, so it's probably still fall in Sinfest. Then we suddenly have Xanthe waking up at what appears to be the middle of the day.

Well it's not like she does any actual work that warrants her having to get up before 2 pm...

Go back to sleep, Xanthe. Nobody likes you.

Actually this comic is ok, and pretty funny too. Also, Xanthe looks a lot more human here than in most of her appearances. It does seem like a step in the right direction for better characterization.

It does seem like Tats is trying to turn things around for the comic. Some of the comics (like the one with the wand) could be interpreted as showing her in a more ridiculous light to soften the character.

That's because you are now Slick. Tats only focuses on you when he needs a strawman to pummel.

Fuck, we went through the exact situation years ago. Slick tried to sell his soul to get things back to the way that they were, in a rather sad moment I might add, and Tats then fucked it all to hell by making Slick go into a "when men were men" spiel even though that wasn't anywhere CLOSE to what he could've been talking about!

Seriously, with a friend like Monique who needs enemies? She doesn't even treat her girlfriend all that well, let alone once close buddies.
