Pretty damn funny.
Eheheh...
I think I was being entirely serious throughout the entire conversation.

I know. Thats why its so funny.
Eheheh...
I suppose it would make things rather amusing, wouldn't it?

At least the conversation came up with something plausible.

[up][up] Plausibility isn't required, it's merely a bonus.

[up] Does that make you related to Kyon and Picard, somehow?

I wonder if Durandall will make a Shout-Out to the other Haruhi.

Speaking of face palms and shout outs, he needs to compare Kyon to Picard. They are the gods of facepalm.
Eheheh...
How is it that this thread can go from talking about such dramatic things as the ethics of altering worlds when you know what'll happen to discussing shout-outs and facepalms?

Because Haruhi. That is the true answer.
 1487 Sabre's Edge, Tue, 8th Mar '11 10:43:17 AM from Skullcrusher Mountain
Maybe I used too many monkeys.
It's safe to say that Haruhi is the embodiment of TV Tropes; Trope-tan is just its mascot to fool any onlookers. That's not even a WMG anymore.
Eheheh...
I was more concerned about how we keep getting Mood Whiplash.

I'm not certain on what exactly, but I'm pretty sure the reason is related to "why does the WMG has so many entries" question posted earlier.

Just to add to the random I'll post the trailer I made some months ago.

Italics indicates black background with the text in white letters as image shown. The indicated voiceover says the same words.

?????: In the vast sea of worlds...

Take of some North High students entering high school.
Kyon: That day had started normally enough, but then, that was true of nearly all days.

Koizumi: in the middle of those events...

Kyon, Koizumi and Mikuru are shown walking in the streets. All of them are wearing street clothes.
Kyon: Is closed space still a concern?
Koizumi: Right now, Suzumiya-san is more bewildered than anything else.

Yuki: I found a new reason for my existence...

Yuki and Kyon are in Yuki's apartment, sitting in front of each other.
Yuki: My deletion has been scheduled in three hours.
Kyon: How set is this?
Yuki: It is absolute.

Mikuru: and showed it with pride...

Kyon and Tsuruya are in route to North High but none of them are walking. Kyon is one step ahead of her but turned back to see Tsuruya's downcast expression, her head sightly lowered and looking to her feet.
Tsuruya: I'm not allowed to give up.

Tsuruya: knowing we will all have each other...

The whole SOS Brigade plus Tsuruya and another girl are in the clubroom. Realization, which quickly falls into despair dawns in the face of the other girl.
?????: I don't remember. I'm sorry ... I ... I don't remember!

Kyon: working together so we could realize...

Image shows Yuki, Kyon and Tsuruya wearing some strange uniforms fighting against a large group of enemies. Two synchronized voices can be heard.
Kyon/Haruhi: A challenge against any of us is a challenge against all of us!

Haruhi: ...not what I wished for but what I really wanted.

Haruhi, Tsuruya and Mikuru are sit inside a car. Tsuruya is watching Haruhi with a completely serious and neutral look on her face, Mikuru looks sightly surprised and Haruhi absolutely confident.
Haruhi: You think I'm going to sit by and see how it can be done by Kyon's family and not take that as a challenge to do it better?

[no voiceover] Kyon: Big Damn Hero

Image shows Yuki's face, she's in the clubroom.
Yuki: Program nine goal: Enlarge Suzumiya Haruhi's-
[cue to black screen without text]
Haruhi: Yuki, that's enough!

I guess I need some movie trailer music for that.

Kyon/Haruhi: A challenge against any of us is a challenge against any of us!

Should be all of us.

Nice trailer. Even conforms to Trailers Always Lie, since it's so dramatic. Until the end.

Awesome trailer. I think it would be better without voice-over and with fast-changing random images of the character on the background for Freeze-Frame Bonus.

I was trying to persuade a friend of mine to draw a Fan-Art of Kanae, but she doesn't want to read the whole story (400k words after all), and occur to me that if I suggest good EXpy to use as a model she could accept the request.

What character do you recommend?

She's based on the unnamed girl that appeared in Dissosiation, but I'm not good with making parallels on images. The fact she doesn't have a name or nickname doesn't help (does her canon counterpart have a Fan Nickname?). At least I found Kanae's description.

Straightforward Flashback-1

He took a moment to study her features, while she shivered in fright, clinging to him. Her brown hair was shoulder-length, and very curly just at the tips - fairly distinctive, he thought. She was probably as tall as Yuki, but with an even slighter frame, not quite gangly, but not yet grown into her height. Her dark eyes stared up at him pleadingly.

Ni-shi-shi~
Pretty much all the physical characterization of the unnamed girl come from this:

Calculating from the heights of their head, she seemed to be about the same height as Nagato. As for weight, she should be lighter than her. The hair seemed like it had been dried with a hairdryer after a perm, curling up like a smiley face at the ends. This can be taken as a unique feature. I don't know if it is because the uniform is not too fitting, the uniform seemed rather loose when taking a closer look.

It's distinguishing but not really illustrative. I never came across Fan-Art of that character so I would bet that that was very little to work with.

Also, there are a lot of additional little descriptions of Kanae across the story, but the only way to find them all would be re-reading K:BDH from the start. I'm going to label that as "The Plan Z B".

If school weren't so busy, I would call that Plan "I'll take any excuse I can get".
Eheheh...
Silver, why did you have to suggest that I write that idea? Now I feel obligated...

Oh, and an excuse for what? Reading the story? For that, you don't need one.

Filraen, that trailer is marvelous. I am seriously considering bookmarking your name in case I decide that I might use a trailer for one or more of my many (currently WIP) fics once they reach the final draft phases.

Mission accepted.

By the by, here's a thought: Who do you think would make a good seiyuu for Kanae? For some reason, Mamiko Noto seems to come to mind for me. Anyone else?

Kanae Itō after I thought about it.

Although if it was ever animated, Kyo Ani's style is to take lesser known seiyuu for a big role most of the time.

It being animated would be a dream come true. A shame about all of the copyright issues and stuff.

Just think about the Adaptation Decay, without those barriers.
